France Rejects EU Constitution

Despite French President Chirac's pleas for the people of France to adopt the EU(European Union)Constitution, they decided not to. 70 percent of France's 41.8 million voters turned out on Mother's Day to cast their vote, with 55% voting 'no'. This virtually killed the constitution, because it needs a unanimous approval from all EU member countries. Reasons for rejecting the constitution? Some feared the loss of welfare benefits and jobs - unemployment is the #1 problem in Europe today. For some it was a protest vote against Chirac, and for others concern over immigration issues. Part of the blame falls to the feet of the political elite of France, of every political persuasion, who merely talk amongst themselves, and are out of touch with the people. Chirac counted on the fact that if all the major political parties supported the Constitution, the voters would follow. What an upset to find out he was wrong.

HOT OFF THE SHOW: Going Cashless with Implantable Chips

You've got to hear my interview with Michael Trudeau on Preparing for a Cashless Society. We talk about how things are moving toward this, his concerns, and the advancements in using fingerprinting, Smart or ID cards, and other scanning systems that companies eventually will make it possible for you to walk out of the grocery store with your items without going through a check out counter because all the products will have sensors, as well as you, either by card or implanted chip or tatoo that scanners will pick up as you leave. Sounds pretty tempting, convenience-wise, but what is the downside to all this?

HOT OFF THE SHOW: Spotting a Dangerous Man

How is it that Amber Frey and Laci Peterson missed Scott Peterson's 'dangerous'? My guest on the show today gave information that everyone should tune in to hear, especially women, but men will also find it very educational as a tool to equip their daughters or sisters or even mothers. She described the 8 kinds of non-violent dangerous men and why so many women go through several unhealthy relationships before they get it. Being able to recognize a 'dangerous man' without becoming fearful is the goal, as well as understanding the truth regarding verbal, emotional abuse, sexual and physical abuse.

Feedback on Evolution's Racist Roots

Just to let you know we've really angered some evolutionists with my column this week on evolution's racist roots. (See 5/2/05 below). I stand by what I said. All the rebuttals I've received just disagree with what I said, name call, etc., but give no documentation for their arguments. True debate is more than opinion. What are the facts? No one has been able to explain away Darwin's or Huxley's, et al specific quotations to the issue. If there are any, where are they? Yes, Darwin was against slavery, but not because he wasn't racist in his evolutionary thought. Most people don't condone cruelty towards animals, but that doesn't mean they (all) think animals are of the same value as humans. Truth stands up under any investigation. We try to give balanced references and let the words speak for themselves, just as with the links below. Oh, and by the way, the issue of evolution is going through a six-day hearing even as I write. See Explosive memo reveals Darwinist strategy for Kansas. and Evolution Hearings open in Kansas.

The National Day of Prayer or Reason?

Today was the National Day of Prayer. Did you know? It doesn't get much news coverage...a day set aside once a year for all people of faith to pray corporately for our country and our leaders. What could be wrong with that? Well, plenty according to the committee for a "National Day of Reason", a counter event on the same day as the National Day of Prayer. Here's their reason: "Many who value the separation of religion and government have sought an appropriate response to the federally-supported National Day of Prayer, an annual abuse of the constitution. Nontheistic Americans (including freethinkers, humanists, atheists, agnostics, and deists), along with many traditionally religious allies, view such government-sanctioned sectarianism as unduly exclusionary...The goal of this effort is to celebrate reason - a concept all Americans can support - and to raise public awareness about the persistent threat to religious liberty posed by government intrusion into the private sphere of worship." It's a sad day when special guidelines have to be given in anticipation of any protest or problem arising from a joint public prayer emphasis, in America, a country founded with a belief in God.

May-Day at the UN! - Iran, Israel, the EU and the U.S.

May 2nd marks the beginning of a month long United Nations conference on its 35 yr. old Treaty for a global Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The Treaty basically consists of: member states without nuclear arms pledge not to pursue them, if the five nuclear powers, the United States, Britain, Russia, France and China, move forward with nuclear disarmament. On the first day of the conference Iran said it is 'determined' to pursue every area of nuclear technology, including uranium enrichment, but guarantees the use will only be for peaceful purposes. The United States, however, made a strong statement that it believe's Iran's program is to build nuclear weapons. The Los Angeles Times reported that the EU is asking the U.S. for help in negotiating an end to Iran's nuclear program. Talks between Iran and the European Union have made little progress. Iran + nuclear weapons = 'terrorist attack' potential on a huge scale. Meanwhile there are reports that the U.S. and Israel consider a pre-emptive attack against Tehran. See link below for more. Keep your eye on this one.

HOT OFF THE SHOW: Evolution's Racist Roots

Should an effort be made to explain that evolution is just a theory when teaching it in public school? Should teachers explain the racist philosophical views of Darwin and his advocates? How about telling them that the full title of Darwin's book, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, includes The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life? Could it just be possible that teaching evolution as fact, that students come from animals and without purpose, be responsible in any way for the increase of crime and other social problems, such as rape, that we're seeing amongst our youth today? Could teaching the 'theory' of creation, that each person is created uniquely with and for a purpose, at least with equal time in the classroom, engender a sense of dignity, justice and a greater value for human life in them? If you want to hear more of the untold parts of Darwin's theory tune in to today's show. See below.
