HOT OFF THE SHOW! Funding Evil

My show today was a re-air of my interview with Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, director of the New York–based American Center for Democracy and the Center for the Study of Corruption & the Rule of Law, and a member of the Committee on the Present Danger with James Woolsey, former Director of the CIA, on her book, "Funding Evil - How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It". It was such an important interview and with Saddam Hussein's trial resuming this week, although re-scheduled a week, some folks, although I know not you, need to be reminded of the evil machine the terrorist network is. Remember, Saddam loved to reward the families of suicide bombers with thousands of dollars.

In one of Dr. Ehrenfeld's articles this year she reported on CARE International:

"Care International is the now defunct Muslim charity that was originally the Boston branch office of the al-Kifah Refugee Center in Brooklyn, New York, from which Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman funded and plotted the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Care International was already publicly identified as supporting al-Qaeda back in 2002, yet it remained open, and several of its employees worked and/or were affiliated with Ptech. Ptech was raided by the FBI on December 6, 2002, following a tip from an employee who suspected that the company was connected to the 9/11 attacks. Indeed, on October 12, 2001, Yassin al-Kadi, Ptech’s top investor at that time, was listed by the US government as a specially designated global terrorist for his support of al-Qaeda.[4] Al-Kadi invested at least $18 million directly in Ptech, $5 million through the Isle of Man, and $9 million indirectly through BMI, a now-defunct New Jersey-based Islamic investment firm with connections to other members on Ptech’s management and investors.[5] Al-Kadi also transferred $2 million USD to Ptech from Switzerland between 1997 and 2000, according to Swiss investigators.

Richard Clarke in his testimony before the Senate on October 22, 2003, said: “Qadi was the head of Muwafaq, a Saudi relief organization that reportedly transferred at least $3 million, on behalf of Khalid bin Mahfouz, to Usama bin Laden and assisted al Qida [sic.] fighters in Bosnia.” Moreover, according to the Treasury Department letter to Switzerland’s Attorney General in November 2001, Muwafaq fronted for, and funded Makhtab al-Khidamat (MK), al-Qaeda, HAMAS, and the Abu-Sayyaf organization, to name just a few. Yet, Muwafaq was not designated as a terrorist organization."

Will someone please tell me ...

What's Ramsey Clark, former U.S. Attorney General, doing working with the defense team of Saddam Hussein?

Drives me crazy!

After meeting with Saddam for an hour Clark said he "has been in total isolation. He hasn't seen a member of his family, talked to a member of his family, met with a lawyer or met with friends he has known before." But was in "extremely good spirits to see people he knew that he could talk to that he hadn't seen in a couple of years...His mind was as clear and as sharp as ever."

Clark also said it was "extremely difficult" to assure fairness in the trial "because the passions in the country are at a fever pitch."

Does this sound like sympathy to anyone?

Here's how Saddam acted in court: after entering and giving the standard Muslim greeting: “Peace be upon you” as reported by Reuters "he moved to take control of the proceedings, launching a tirade against the chief judge because his guards had handcuffed him and taken his pencil and paper. The former president raised his voice. He was stern. Television footage of the proceedings broke away from the outbursts of a man well known for keeping his enemies guessing." Read more here.

Whoever said, "History must be burned into the imagination before it will be received by reason," certainly got it right. How much more 'history' will we have to suffer before we get it right?

Some Immigration Facts

Still thinking about the President's speech yesterday on his new illegal immigration plan. Here's some stats from Immigration Watch:

~ Before 1965 the U.S. admitted an average of 200,000 immigrants and refugees per year. After 1990, the average annual total rose to nearly one million.

~ Since 2000, an average of 500,000 illegal aliens have entered and settled permanently in the U.S. per year.

~ The Census Bureau estimates that a total of 8.7 million illegal aliens live in the U.S. A study at Northeastern University put the total at 11 million.

In the meantime the Minuteman Project also has new goals, "We're struggling to keep up with the demand," Founder Chris Simcox said. "It's our aim, by next November, the '06 elections, to have Minuteman interior chapters in every congressional district in the country." Read more here.

I think it would have been smart for the President to have acknowledged the Minutemen in his speech. They represent the concern of a good chunk of Americans.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Siding with the Enemy

Okay, stop for a minute and just look at this picture. Ask yourself, would you be in favor of having small American children like this be in military training? Groomed to be a suicide bomber even as a child? Of course not! What does this alone have to say about the country that does such a thing? Negotiating with such countries is not the same as negotiating with a country like America. Two totally different worldviews can not see eye to eye. You have to know your enemy, how he thinks and 'negotiate' accordingly.

In an unprecedented agreement negotiated by Condaleeza Rice between Israel and the Palestinian Authority over a strategic border crossing between Egypt and Gaza, which supporters praise as a breakthrough for the Palestinians and their economy, critics say Israel could be facing one of the most dangerous times in its history, because arms are regularly funneled from Eqypt to terrorist groups in Gaza. We talked about this on the show today with Editor of the popular blog, Israpundit, Ted Belman and Myles Weiss our co-host on Middle East affairs. This news was covered by the media.

But, how many have heard about these two stories of siding with the enemy?:

#1 A delegation from the Presbyterian Church USA, headed by Father Nihad Tu'meh with Robert Worley went to Lebanon at the invitation of Hizbullah and met with the terrorist organization. Here were Worley's statements:

"We do not wish to defend the U.S. administration. We all elected the Democratic Party against the Republican Party. Rest assured that we will return to the U.S. in order to continue our activity for peace, and we want to hear about the charity activities and the cultural and social activities organized by Hizbullah in south [Lebanon]. The Americans hear in the Western media that Hizbullah is a terrorist organization, and they do not hear any other opinion. They know nothing about the party's concern for the people of the south. We have suffered much pressure on the part of Jewish organizations in the U.S. because [of our help in] divesting corporations working with Israel. We want Jerusalem to be a united city, just as we encouraged the Palestinians and the Jews to work for peace, and we demanded that our administration adheres to this position." (Thanks to Daimnation for this information)

#2 Family.org reported last week on the latest act by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Schools Can Make Students Imitate Muslim Practices. A three-judge panel rejected a lawsuit by two California students and their parents, who challenged the way Islam was being taught in the Byron Union School District in California as endorsing a religious practice. They didn't object to their children learning about Islam; what they objected to was what they considered to be indoctrination.

"The students were put in the position of being more like trainees of Islam, rather than students learning about a particular religion," an attorney for the parents said. Classroom materials used informed the chilcren that during the simulation they would "become Muslims."

President's Speech on Immigration - "I Oppose Amnesty"

Here's a brief summary of the President's speech less than an hour ago on his new policy on illegal immigration. Citing successes by the border patrol, such as catching over 1,000 illegal gang members, over 2,000 smugglers, and the increase of funds and agents on the border since September 11, 2001, the President outlined a new three part plan to address America's illegal immigration problems. His speech and plan will definately be the topic of debate on talk shows this week.

Bush's Plan:
1) Return all illegals back across the border - through Interior Re-Repatriotion to their home towns far from the border. Sited success when implemented: only 8% cross the border again. Non-Mexican illegals are detained, but not enough beds at detention centers, thus 4 out of 5 that are caught are released into society and only given a date to appear in court date: 75% don't show up. This 'catch & release' policy has been in place for decades and the President said it "is going to end." Will change to a 'catch and return' policy, as will expand detention facilities as well as expediting removal of non-Mexican illegals faster (within 30 days).

2) Correct/enforce existing immigration laws - cited the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals which ruled that illegals can re-argue their cases as often as they want; and that businesses must abide by immigration laws. To help with this he proposed a new temporary worker plan where 'honest workers' can register for a legal worker's permit for a set period of time and then sent home. Also, is proposing a new tamper-proof ID card which he says will document fraud and make it easier for businesses to comply with the law. He acknowledged there is alot of controversy surrounding such a card.

3) Stop illegals from crossing the border in the first place - described the bill he signed last month that puts 1,000 more agents on the border (most of them will be in Arizona); $139 million to upgrade technology including the use of drones to spot and catch illegals; $70 million to install and improve barriers and fencing.

More to come.

Black Friday Craziness

"Black Friday" is the day after Thanksgiving, named that because it is the first day of retailers getting out of the red and into the black on the biggest shopping day of the year. Yesterday, as you can see in the picture, a fellow shopper reached down to help Josephine Hoffman, 73, as the crowd behind her pushed through and rushed past security guards, at Brandsmart at the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Florida.

"I was trying to get out of the way, but they knocked me down," the senior citizen said. "I hit my head on the floor, and people stepped on me. I don't understand why people do these things."

While the crowd was waiting for the stores to open one woman responded angrily, "We have your money out here. We need to go to other stores. I can't stand here all day."
A man shouted through the gate that he had been waiting for an hour and half.

This kind of behavior definately gets an 'F' in the character department!

Duane, getting ready to carve, this is what the bird looked like yesterday. After leftovers this weekend, we'll make my Turkey Noodle Soup...

Place turkey carcus with some meat left on the bones in a large stock pot, cover with water, about 2 gallons.
Add l large onion quartered, 3 whole carrots, 3 celery
stocks, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, and then simmer for l hr.

Remove vegetables and carcus from stock; remove meat from bones and put back in the stock.
Add:
3 fresh carrots and 3 celery stalks chopped in
1/2 inch pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
1-1/2 C frozen peas and/or corn
1 C turkey stuffing
1 C gravy
4 C uncooked egg noodles
Salt& Pepper
Sage and other poultry seasonings you like, to taste

Bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are cooked.
Depending on how rich your stock turns out you may need to add boullion for richer flavor.

Grateful for...

Among the things I am most grateful for this Thanksgiving...

You, my readers, listeners and supporters
My family & friends
Our great land and it's abundance
Our troops in harms way
Our nation's rich heritage
Our Veterans & Those Who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice
The freedoms we enjoy & Our Leaders, Pastors, Priests, Rabbis, and fellow Countrymen who uphold the truth and value these great blessings!

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving with those you care about, and that in the midst of all that is going on in our nation, world and individual lives, that you take a moment to think about what we have to be grateful for and offer thanks to God, as the first Pilgrims did.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Messing with Thanksgiving

If messing with Christmas isn't enough to deal with, Americans also have to deal with those messing with the historical record of Thanksgiving, as well as the teaching about it in schools.

Thanksgiving has fallen into politically-correct disrepute. Just visit any major bookstore (or your child's school textbook) and after reading the revisionists' view of this American holiday, if you didn't know better, you’d think the Pilgrims were atheists, that they came to America for economic reasons, and that Thanksgiving was designed to thank the Indians. How can we be sure what the truth is, and hold on to the real history of Thanksgiving? Original Documents! What the Pilgrims said and did, what the Founding Fathers decreed, et al, vs. interpretations and stories about.

William Federer, a modern historian and our guest today on this subject, has written several books documenting history in easy reference form. I highly recommend them. Remember, revisionists write for a particular agenda and political worldview. They 'revise' the historical record.

CHRISTMAS OFFENSIVE UPDATE:: Safeway Stores & Liberty Counsel's "Friend or Foe"

Coming out of Trader Joe's tonight I was happy to see a familiar Salvation Army sign, pot and bell-ringer. She was saying 'Merry Christmas' to customers going in and coming out. I stopped to chat with her expressing I was glad to see her there, and asked how it was going this year as far as which stores are refusing to let them 'ring' out in front of. "Target Stores, again, and Safeway. Safeway hasn't let us ring there for a few years now."

FOX News' Bill O'Reilly gave the list of the stores this year so far which are 'Merry Christmas' friendly stores and those which are not. As you will see Macy's which chose last year to ban their employees from saying Merry Christmas, or the term used in any advertising has done a turn-around this year. Guess they learned their lesson from the pressure Christmas-loving media and customers applied.

"Merry Christmas" friendly stores:
Macy's
Penney's
Bloomingdale's
Dillard's

Anti "Merry Christmas" stores:

Sears
WalMart
K-Mart
Target
Kohl's
Costco
BJ's
KB Toys
FAO Schwarz

Let your feet & pocketbook do the talking!

Also, in case you haven't heard, the Liberty Counsel has developed a "Friend or Foe" program where they will talk with cities, etc., that have put a ban on Christmas in any form, such as Boston dis-allowing calling the annual city tree a Christmas tree, but rather now a 'winter tree.' If in such situations they will reverse their ban they will become a 'Friend', if not a, Foe' and be sued.

New Jersey Professor Says Soldiers Should Kill their Superiors

Jim Kouri, Vice President of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, and former guest on the show, exposes Warren Community College English professor, John Daly, who said "Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors," in an email to Rebecca Beach, a freshman at the New Jersey College. Daly also said he would "expose [her]right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like [Rebecca's] won't dare show their face on a college campus." HOT OFF THE SHOW! The Debate Goes On - Intelligent Design

Both in his book, "Nature Never Stops Talking" and on the show, Samuel Alibrando points out countless examples in nature that point to an Intelligent Designer. Not too long ago President Bush endorsed ID being taught in school, and more and more school boards are approving just that, like the Dover Area School Board in Pennsylvania which voted to not only include the theory of “intelligent design” but other alternative theories to evolution in their science curriculum. The Ohio State Board of Education recently approved a similar plan. Some are concerned that teaching ID puts a return to teaching creationism at risk.

What say you?

CHRISTMAS OFFENSIVE

Rabbi Aryeh Spero has written a great article, "This Christmas, Don't Let Them Turn Off the Lights" pointing out:

"Some how Christmas seemed darker last year, bereft of its usual radiance. Like a heroic soldier, it was left alone to fend off a platoon of barrages against it. Shots came from many quarters – all contesting the placement of Christmas symbols in public areas." Please read it.

Beginning this week there's a special 'Christmas Offensive' section on the sidebar, both here at Veritas and also at WOMANTalk's blogsite, and website, Changing Worldviews. We'll have links related to anti-Christmas activities happening around the country this season. I'll be updating it regularly listing useful links you can post on your site, plus we'll have a banner ad soon that you will be able to put on your site and in your emails...

This is going to take the effort of alot of people blogging, blogging and more blogging to get the word out. So please check back regularly for more details and join the Offensive!

Keep Christmas in America! Are you with me?

Adrian Rogers Dies at 74, Leaving a Legacy of a "Love Worth Finding"

Well respected and loved, Adrian Rogers, Pastor of Love Worth Finding ministry died Tuesday, November 15, in a Memphis, Tenn., hospital, and funeral services were held on Thursday. Having preached over 3,000 messages, many of them have been carried over 2,300 radio stations and more than 13,000 television outlets, which his staff said will continue for years to come.

James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family said of his fellow broadcaster friend, "There is no one in America whom I respected more than Dr. Rogers."

A very fitting bible verse is listed on the announcement webpage reads, “Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11.

Steve Gaines, Rogers' successor at Bellevue, said, "The last thing I heard him say was, 'I am at perfect peace...His eyes and my eyes caught one another. He looked right at me and he gave me a thumbs up. That's just him -- he was Mr. Positive. He was an awesome guy."

Queer Kiss-in Protests Military Recruiters

While waiting to see the latest news on CODEPINK's National "Not Your Soldier" anti-recruitment campus invasion today I ran across the following. I guess absolutely anything actually does go on on college campuses these days...

A Queer Kiss-in Greeted Military Recruiters at UC Santa Cruz in California on October 18th. While students protested the presence of military recruiters at the campus career fair a Queer Kiss-in was staged in front of recruiters' tables to protest the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" hiring practices which they claim are in violation of the UC system's non-discrimination policy. The protesters demanded that the university follow its own policies and secure the campus as a 'hate-free' zone.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! God Off our Money?

Which came first, crazy cases brought to court...or the judges who rule in favor of crazy? As we talked on the show about the 9th Circuit Court's decision to allow doctors to perform abortions on minors under 17, including, oh let's say, 10 yr olds, plans for another outrageous court battle were in the making...

The lastest offensive by Michael Newdow, the atheist who has fought to get "under God' out of the Pledge of Allegiance, has now targeted "In God We Trust" on U.S. money.

"I am about to file to get 'In God We Trust' off the front of our currency...I plan to do that this week," he told the Oklahoman before speaking at the ACLU Oklahoma Foundation Bill of Rights Celebration.

Then he told KWTV in Oklahoma City, "The key principle is that we're supposed to treat everybody equally especially in terms of religious belief...Clearly it's not treating atheists equal with people who believe in God when you say 'In God We Trust' or we are a 'nation under God.'"

"People say, 'Are you an atheist activist?' And I'm not...I couldn't care less what anyone believes. I just care that our government treats everybody equally."

Hogwash!

Media Fails to Report on Anti-War Group's 'Letter from God'

Why would failing to report on an anti-war group's openly displayed 'Letter from God' be a case for media bias? Because every time President Bush makes reference to his belief in God the mainstream media is all over, it like fleas on a dog. And not only his faith, but that of his appointees, as in Maureen Dowd's article, on former Supreme Court nominee, Harriet Miers.

You probably read how after calling into question the qualifications of Condoleeza Rice, Karen Hughes and other women on his staff, referring to them as office wives "who steadfastly devote their entire lives to doting on him", Dowd goes into some detail about Miers' faith:

"Bushie and Harriet share the same born-again Christian faith, which they came to in midlife, deciding to adopt Jesus Christ as their saviors. The Washington Post reported that she tithes to the Valley View Christian Church in Dallas, "where antiabortion literature is sometimes distributed and tapes from the conservative group Focus on the Family are sometimes screened," and where, when she returns, Ms. Miers asks well-wishers to pray for her and the president....W. is asking for a triple leap of faith. He has faith in Ms. Miers as his lawyer and as a woman who shares his faith. And we're expected to have faith in his faith and her faith, and her opinions that derive from her faith that could change the balance of the court and affect women's rights for the next generation. That's a little bit too much faith, isn't it?"

There are numerous other examples of media bias regarding the President's faith, such as during the 2004 election debates...

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Iraqi Kurds Launch "Thank You America" Ad

To help counter the anti-war movement's sentiment and propaganda, specifically CODEPINK's student anti-recruitment activities happneing this week, we played a couple of clips from a national TV and Print Ad Campaign by Kurdistan, The Other Iraq, "to thank the United States and Coalition Partners for the military campaign that liberated the people of Iraqi Kurdistan from the ravages of Saddam Hussein."

They are powerful and bring tears to your eyes. Please visit their site to view the ads on video and pass on this information to everyone you know. Working together we can counter the lies of the left and not just support our troops, but fight for what they are doing.

My husband Duane joined me on the show today to talk about some of the madness in the world, to hopefully clarify the truth on this and several other crucial issues, such as the San Francisco's gun ban and California's adopting Prop 73 which allows minors of any age, ie 10 yrs old, to get an abortion without their parents being notified. Whew! Duane will also be with me in the studio for Wednesday's show when we will discuss our how courts have gone mad, such as the 9th Circuit Court which ruled against parents saying they do not have the sole responsibility for he sexual education of their children.

Jimmy Carter Criticizes the Direction of the U.S.

Former President Jimmy Carter is on a tour promoting his latest book, "Our Endangered Values," and sharply criticized the direction of the Bush administration.

"Everywhere you go, you hear, 'What has happened to the United States of America? We thought you used to be the champion of human rights. We thought you used to protect the environment. We thought you used to believe in the separation of church and state,,,I felt so disturbed and angry about this radical change in America," Carter said at Unity Temple.

Two things: spoke this a Unity Temple, and he has joined the very small ranks of former Presidents (including Clinton) who criticize a sitting President.

I wonder what values he talks about in his book???

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Red Alert on Code Pink!

CODE PINK 's invasion on school campuses and recruitment offices this week with their "Not Your Soldier" & "National Stand Down" student days on November 17th & 18th is a disgrace! They have organized students across the country to stand up to say, "We are NOT YOUR SOLDIERS" - "We demand for our schools and communities to be military-free zones" on Thursday, and working together with the National Call for Nonviolent Resistance to stage a "Stand Down Day" at military recruiting stations on Friday.

Every red-blooded American aware of these activities should counter their efforts by getting this information out to as many people as possible, and if possible by showing up at the same recruiting stations to show support for our troops' efforts. And don't think they don't need it!

Just read what this young recruiting officer from southern California wrote to me in response to my previous article on the subject:

"I am currently stationed in Las Vegas, NV with the US Army recruiting command. I read your article and it proved to me that there are still those out there who see the change in Americas youth. As a recruiter I get all the static in the world, the problem is, it is from the youth. I support that students get involved in the political process. In fact it’s been proven that students that do get involved do better in school due to the fact that it takes dedication and hard work to do things of that nature. What truly bothers me is that these students that protest and disagree with the nations policies and involvement in the war on terrorism do not have all the facts. The only thing they know is what their parents want them to know. They have no real idea what is really going on but are fueled by opinions of others and not there own. I would love to debate with a student who really knows the facts. I swear if I hear one more you should pull the troops out of the war I'm going to snap. Like I really have a hand in the whole political process as far as this war goes. And where do people get the idea that if we stop recruiting and no soldiers are joining that they will stop a draft? I'm sorry if I am just running on. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate what you wrote and it warms my heart that someone out there wants to see this nation change it’s views and do it’s research."

HOT OFF THE SHOW: Nosey School Questionnaires

How could I not talk about some of the nosey questionnaires students across America are given in class after the Ninth Circuit Courts ruling last week?

Last year a school in Fairfax County made national news when parents got angry about "confidential" surveys 15-18 yr. old students were given on sex, drugs, suicide and other private matters...

With questions such as:

"When you daydream about sex, do you think about (a) males, (b) females, (c) both?"

“How would you prefer to die?”

"Do you hate your parents?"

“When you get a bad grade, what do your parents do to you?”

and many more.

Though this school stopped using the surveys, the practice continues around the nation today...often ignoring student and parent rights mandated by the Federal Privacy Protection Act of 1996, allowing students to opt-out of an activity. Are these surveys being used in the schools in your neighborhood?

They are in mine. And now even more schools will use thanks to the 9th court. I'm all for the Congress splitting that court in two. How about you?

Liberals Gleeful in California

Liberals are pretty excited by their victories in California where Gov. Schwarzenegger's ballot propositions all failed.

Let me see...what are they gleeful about? Doctors don't have to notify parents when their 12 yr old daughter goes for an abortion. Unions can use your dues for their political favorite candidates and initiatives. Political leaders still have the power to manipulate elections which redistricting would have balanced. Should I go on?

Oh, and of course, San Franciscans are now free from the burden of gun ownership, so when jihadists come to their city like the 300 cities they have been 'visiting' in France, they'll have a welcome mat.

I still can't believe 73 failed. Where were the pro-family folks at?

Election Returns - Where were the Conservatives?

Election Returns...that's right...what we vote for comes back to
(haunt?) us. As a Californian I'm pretty upset right now. At midnight with 60% of the precincts inNot one of the measures that should have gotten a "YES" vote did (73 - 77). ESPECIALLY 73 which would have required parents to be notified if their daughter was planning an abortion. Over 50% of Californians voted NO on this one. huh? Parents now don't think it's their business to know what's going on with their teenager? No, they bought into the lie that teens need 'confidentiality' when it comes to parents knowing, "otherwise they won't go to the counselors and abortionists for help."

I have to ask...where were all the conservatives and Christians in this election here in California? Not in the voting booth, that's evident. If they were 73 would have passed.

But that's not all. In San Francisco a bill, Prop H, banning handguns was passed by 57%. Now, only police can have guns. Everyone else will have to turn them in... by April. And Prop 1 "College not Combat" preventing military recruiters access to schools otherwise schools would...here we go again...lose their federal funding, passed.

At least Texas banned same sex marriage with 74% of the vote.

The liberals are gleeful with all their 'victories'...but it's ONLY because conservative, pro-family could-have-voteds stayed home. The numbers are there even with voter fraud and the like. Prop 22 proved that. We haven't all moved away...yet.

The ACLU Spies Out Crosses

The ACLU has a guy whose sole job is to scout for crosses on public property, ie city seals. Such is the Redlands case as reported by STOP the ACLU:

Voters decide next week if the "City of Churches" should restore the cross to the Redlands seal. When the American Civil Liberties Union threatened a costly lawsuit last year if the cross wasn't eliminated, officials decided the cross must be erased from the city logo. Many residents were outraged and voters will now decide Tuesday if the religious symbol will return.

If Measure Q wins, the ACLU will likely go to court.

"This is the first time this has happened, to my knowledge," said ACLU attorney Peter Eliasberg, who tracks crosses on seals statewide. He said it is "highly likely" a lawsuit would be filed against the city if it reinstates the cross.

"The cross is clearly unconstitutional," Eliasberg said. "It sends a message of favor for one religion over others."

Last year, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to take a cross off the county's seal under threat of a lawsuit by the ACLU.

Scott Siegel, who led the drive to put Measure Q on Tuesday's ballot, resents that the ACLU forced the city into removing the cross from the city seal.

"What happens in this type of situation is that the ACLU threatens to sue, then the city capitulates on a cost basis, and the case is never decided on its legal merits," he said. "The ACLU is telling us that it's a foregone conclusion that we're going to lose if a suit is filed. That's just a ridiculous statement."

Dr. Advocates Killing Humans to Save Animals

Robert Novak writing for Townhall on Saturday reported the following:

Sen. James Inhofe, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, at an Oct. 26 hearing drew from an animal rights activist an admission that he advocated murder of medical researchers who performed experiments on animals.

Dr. Jerry Vlasak of North American Animal Liberation was quoted as saying at an animal rights convention: "I don't think you'd have to kill, assassinate too many. I think for five lives, 10 lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, 2 million, or 10 million non-human lives."

Vlasak also said, as a representative of the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), at the “Animal Rights 2003” convention, that he would endorse the murder of physicians whose research work requires the use of lab rats and other animals.

Questioned by Inhofe whether he was "advocating the murder of individuals," Vlasak replied: "I made that statement, and I stand by that statement."

He also said, as a representative of the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) at the “Animal Rights 2003” convention, that he would endorse the murder of physicians whose research work requires the use of lab rats and other animals.
There are not words to describe the insanity of this advocacy. There words speak for themselves. Here are some more 'animal rights' unbelievable quotes:

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Supreme Court - Thomas Needs an *

Thanks to Powerline who helped get the word out on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's
commentary on the Alito nomination - the 'minus' he is because he's not a woman, as Sandra Day O'Connor expressed her replacement would be, but even more, the shocking statement that Justice Clarence Thomas needs an * by his name because he doesn't represent black Americans. Here's the exact quote in case you missed it:

In losing a woman, the court with Alito would feature seven white men, one white woman and a black man, who deserves an asterisk because he arguably does not represent the views of mainstream black America.

The paper tried to offer an explanation that they were only referring to the fact that he was the only African-American on the bench. Hogwash! I'm not buying it!

By the way, here's a quote that needs to be brought out by O'Connor, just for the record...

"It is difficult to discern a serious threat to religious liberty from a room of silent, thoughtful schoolchildren."
- Sandra Day O'Connor

More Hogwash! Give me a break.

The show today with William Federer on the history of the Supreme Court is interesting as always. He has a way of taking history and bringing it to (common sense) life. Latest book is Judicial Tyranny, a compilation of authors on the subject. You can still hear it online - see link below.

Court Gone Mad! 9th Circuit Court Rules Against Parents

The new ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stating, "There is no fundamental right of parents to be the exclusive provider of information regarding sexual matters to their children...Parents have no due process or privacy right to override the determinations of public schools as to the information to which their children will be exposed while enrolled as students," has Californians in an uproar, and rightfully so!

The liberal ninth district court known for it's legislating from the bench, such as in the recent case where the court ruled the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional because it contains the words 'under God', dismissed a lawsuit by California parents on November 3, 2005 who were sued the school district because a sex survey with inappropriate, nosey questions was given to children in the first, third and fifth grades. The survey was administered by the Palmdale School District and asked students questions such as if they ever thought about having sex or touching other people's "private parts" and whether they could "stop thinking about having sex. Other questions in the survey inivolved:

Touching my private parts too much

Washing myself because I feel dirty on the inside

Not trusting people because they might want sex

Getting scared or upset when I think about sex

Having sex feelings in my body

Can't stop thinking about sex

Getting upset when people talk about sex

Sunday's Point to Ponder - The Real Martin Luther

Have you seen the movie, "Luther" yet? It is a great telling of the true story of the German monk, Martin Luther, who challenges the political and religious authorities of his time. Not stuffy or boring, but rather a very real story everyone will relate to in one way or another. Joseph Fiennes does a great job playing Martin Luther, and I recommend it...along with a bowl of popcorn...on what may turn out to be a rainy day today.

Boots Riley & Peace Ad Booted

'Peace' activists are mad because a New York radio station (WQHT) decided against running one of their 'controversial' ads. NY Daily News reported on it and Michelle Malkin added this:
"The one-minute spot was cut by musician Boots Riley for a coalition of progressive groups and individuals called The World Can't Wait, Drive Out the Bush Regime. Promoting a noon rally in Union Square today, it says, "Bush made torture into a sport and justifies it. ... We all watched Bush leave people to die in New Orleans. ... This regime is what's criminal. The organizers should be grateful the ad isn't running."
Who's Boots Riley? Michelle included a picture of this son of a Black Panther leader partying in front of a picture of the World Trade Center being blown up. (This is the cover of one of his rap albums - he's on the right).

By the way, November 17 & 18th anti-war, anti-recruitment CODE PINK activists are staging a national "No Militarization of Youth! Not Your Soldier Student Day of Action" and National Stand Down Day. This is our subject for the next WOMANTalk show on "Women & War" on November 11th for Veterans Day.
