Mom Sends Christmas Tree to Iraq

This solider, like the one is the following story, enjoys receiving a Christmas tree.

Did you see hear about the Mom who sent a tree to her son in Iraq?

Cindy Russell, the mother of Sgt. Ronald Russell, got the idea from a Vietnam veteran who said it could be done and that it would be the best present they (her son and his company) could get. So, a 4-foot Douglas fir arrived at their base in Iraq just before Thanksgiving. A large care package accompanied the tree.

How cool is that? Now, that's what I call supporting the troops!

David Letterman Fights Restraining Order

Did you hear what the BBC just reported - that a woman has accused David Letterman of sending her code words over the television causing her to go bandrupt, suffer mental cruelty and sleep deprivation for 11 years? The popular talk show host is fighting a restraining order taken out by the woman, which was accompanied by a six-page typed letter in which she said he used "code words, gestures and 'eye expressions' to convey his desires for her."

She also detailed how she began sending Letterman "thoughts of love" when his Late Show began in 1993, and that he has been responding in code words and gestures, "asking her to come east to New York to be trained as his co-host."

Now who's going to believe this?

Court Rules Against the ACLU on Ten Commandments

The 6th U.S. appeals court upheld the decision of a lower court that allowed the inclusion of the Ten Commandments in a courthouse display, and declared, "The First Amendment does not demand a wall of separation between church and state."

The panel voted 3-0 rejecting the ACLU's argument that the display violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution. The display included the Ten Commandments, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, the Magna Carta, the Star Spangled Banner, the national motto, the preamble to the Kentucky Constitution, the Bill of Rights to the U. S. Constitution and a picture of Lady Justice.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Hanukkah & Christmas

This week we are re-airing two of our war on Christmas shows on Monday and Wednesday, but will have our CHRISTMAS SPECIAL on Friday - "Christmas During Times of War" with audio clips from the Armed Forces Archive Broadcasts, a few true stories and several of my favorite Christmas songs.

Today we re-aired my interview with Rabbi Aryeh Spero who has been active in standing up for Christmas. You can read some of his excellant articles on the subject here.

It's interesting to note that Hanukkah is celebrated on December 25th this year. Have you ever wondered why there are so many ways to spell this holiday? ie Hanukkah, Chanukah? Because there is not an exact English translation of the Hebrew word for it, is why we find the following spellings for this holiday:

Chanuka
Chanukah
Chanukkah
Channukah
Hanukah
Hannukah
Hanukkah
Hanuka
Hanukka
Hanaka
Haneka
Hanika
Khanukkah

So Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish friends and neighbors! And God bless you for standing with Christians over the attack on Christmas. We know it is because you value truth.

Christms Offensive Update: Manger Okay, But Not Jesus

Today while I was at the post office mailing the last of my cards, one of the post office employees shared with me that on Saturday's they don't have to wear their PO uniform and can where what they want. He chose to wear a T-shirt that shares "Jesus". It brought a complaint and he was told that the shirt was not appropriate to wear for Christmas! uh? How crazy is that?

More irrational holiday behavior:

Merry Christmas School-lunch menus recalled - cost of $494

"Silent night" becomes "Cold in the night"

Jerusalem Municipality to Distribute Hundreds of Christmas Trees

From Live Journal:

The Jerusalem municipality will hold its annual Christmas tree distribution on Thursday, 22/12/05, at the Jaffa Gate Plaza, between 09:00-12:00. The trees are given free to everyone who asks and shows and ID (For registration). The trees were donated by "Keren Kayemet Le'Israel – Jewish National Fund".

The Christmas tree distribution is a long standing tradition of the Jerusalem Municipality, taking place for dozens of years. The mayor of Jerusalem, Uri Lupolinaksi, wishes a Merry Christmas to the Christian residents of Jerusalem and a year of peace, tolerance and brotherhood. The mayor invites people from all religions to come and visit Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.

President Bush - lst President to Celebrate Hanukkah

This says alot - from David Horowitz's blog at FrontPageMag.com on his experience at the White House:

"My wife an I attended the Chanukah (Hanukkah) Party at the White House last night. Bush is the first president in American history to hold Chanukah parties along with the traditional White House Christmas parties.

The White House is magical during the Holiday Season and there were many old friends in attendance. It had a special importance to me now that we have become in effect two political countries -- one supporting a war for freedom in the Middle East and one at war against us (and yes I realize there are a lot of good people in the middle who don't have a stomach for this war but don't want us to lose it either).

I was of course thinking. of the wretched lies of Kerry and Dean from the day before.I hadn't been at an event with the President (who is looking slim and trim) in four years and didn't know if he would recognize me. But the minute he saw me in the line he called out "Horowitz" with a big smile on his face, then embraced me in a bear hug. In the moment I had his ear I said, "Thank you for taking all those arrows for the rest of us." Graciously, he said "You take more than I do," which I don't and said so. Then as I was walking away he called out, "Don't let them get to you." I called back, "Don't you either," and he replied in a strong voice. "I won't."It was a one day cross-country trip for me and my wife to attend this event but those few seconds made it worth it. I left energized for this battle which is so crucial to the future of our country and the freedom of others."

Jackie Mason & the War on Christmas

If you can, I encourage you to tune in to our WOMANTalk edition of the show today with Audrey Russo as we discuss the latest on the war on Christmas.

One thing that just blesses my socks off are the Jews who are standing up for Christmas! Have you seen Jackie Mason on Fox News yet? - Jews for It's Ok to Say Merry Christmas - speaking out against the de-Christianization of Christmas.

"Merry Christmas!" New York's Jewish mascot, comedian Jackie Mason is saying on the streets of that great city.

"Enough of the 'Happy holidays!'Is this how you pay back the people who gave us the freedom to be Jews in America? The Christians are the ones who gave us the right to be free."

"We have the right to pornography. Erections are allowed to be mentioned every day!But you can't say, 'Merry Christmas!'"

Jackie Mason was joined by well known and esteemed Jewish leaders, radio talkers Rabbi Aryeh Spero (who we just had on the show)and Barry Farber, and Don Feder, who we plan to have on after the first of the year.

Iran's President Denies Holocaust

Recently Iran's hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said Israel should be wiped off the map. Wednesday for the first time publicly he said the Nazi Holocaust was a 'myth' used to "carve out a Jewish state in the heart of the Muslim world." His comments drew quick condemnations from Israel and Europe, and the White House said his remarks proved why Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Ahmadinejad also called for Israel to move to Europe.

Hamas says it will step up attacks "If Israel attacks Iran then Hamas will widen and increase its confrontation of Israelis inside Palestine." Both the United States and Israel accuse Iran of arming and funding Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Israel but Iran says it only gives moral support to them.

Iraq's Historic Election

Voters have to dip their finger in ink is to guard against multiple voting.

CNN reported today that results of Iraq's election from the 33,000 polling stations "probably won't be available for two weeks or more."

An estimated 10 million of the 15 million registered voters voted, and the turnout was so strong in some parts that election officials gave permission to keep polls open one hour longer than the 5 p.m. closing time. Even in Falluja, polling places ran out of ballots which election workers replenished.

And listen to this: "In Ramadi, local clerics used mosque sound systems, usually reserved for calls to prayer, to urge people to vote....In the eastern Ramadi neighborhood of Sufiya, candy was handed out as people came to vote."

We are watching history in the making, due in great part because of our brave men and women of our military there.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! From Marxist to Christ

A few months ago I had Steve Beren, former anti-war activist and leader on the show to talk about the mindset of behind the anti-war movement. He was very frank as he revealed what goes on behind the scenes. Turns out that he not only switched from an anti-war radical to a 'patriot who supports the current war on terror' but also switched from communism to Christianity. With the battle over Christmas at an all time high, what he had to share was pretty powerful.

Here's his testimony: My Conversion from Atheism and Communism to Christianity

Planned Parenthood's Distastful 'Holiday' Cards

Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League reports "They're at it again. Despite having made efforts earlier this year to position itself as an organization supporting Christian principles, Planned Parenthood has once again chosen to offend Christians by selling its distasteful 'Choice on Earth' cards."

The 'holiday' cards are for sale on Planned Parenthood's website stating: "Tis the season to share with family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones the messages of 'Choice on Earth' or 'Peace Hope Justice.' Place your orders now for the 2005 Holiday Card."

This is not the first year Planned Parenthood has sold the cards, and Sedlak reports that According to numbers just released by Planned Parenthood, 255,015 babies who visited Planned Parenthood facilities in 2004 will not be alive to celebrate Christmas this year.

Abbas Pays Families of Suicide Bombers

Israel National News reported that Arafat's successor, Mahmoud Abbas, has just approved a new law that provides monetary grants to families of suicide bomers. His the support for terrorists is obvious: the new legislation refers to the suicide terrorists as martyrs. Terrorist families will be paid a base sum of $250 per month. The families of married terrorists are entitled to an additional $50 per month, and $15 are added for each child, $25 for each parent, and $15 for each brother who lived with the terrorist prior to his death. All of which will be paid out of the general budget of the Palestinian Authority.

As Israel National News puts it, "The message here is obviously go ahead and blow yourself up because we'll make sure your family is OK. So regardless of what sort of lip service Abbas gives to stopping terrorism, he's putting the official state seal of approval on suicide bombing."

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Al Franken Entertaining the Troops?

Sorry, but I have problems with this...

Al Franken takes off for his 6th USO Tour.

So, what’s wrong with that? Isn’t he just following in the footsteps of fellow comedian Bob Hope, entertaining our troops? According to Alan Skorski, author of "Pants on Fire," a book critical of Al Franken, Mr. Franken’s tour is a travesty. Skorski says, “It sickens me to no end knowing how much Al Franken has hurt our troops here. He has no business attaching himself to a worthwhile organization as the USO in order to elevate himself and increase his profile and celebrity status.”

Franken’s parody on our troops from his "best of" CD include:

Sorry 'bout the prisoners.
Sorry they got raped.
Sorry they got tortured.
Sorry it got taped...
believe me when I say their apology is sincere I'm awfully sorry for that broomstick up their rear...

Whew! I'm so glad for clean comedians like Paul Aldrich, who was on the show today talking about Operation Belly Laughs, sending a collective work of several comedians to bring cheer and something of 'home' to our troops overseas.

You can still hear the show and laugh along with me as Paul shares the power of laughter, both for our troops and us here at home...

NY Times Accepts the Unacceptable

While the New York Times has proven itself to be selective in it's reporting all the details about the war in Iraq, it seems to have no problem running attack ads on President Bush in regards to the same. As Bill O'Reilly reported on FOX News tonight, World Can't Wait's "next phase of the battle to drive out the Bush regime by placing a full page ad in the NY Times" ran on page A17 in the Times today

AfterDowningStreet.org reported O'Reilly's focus on the ad as well as the planned efforts to, "...'drown out' Bush's State of the Union address in January," which will consist of, "local actions as well as a national demonstration in Washington D.C. on the Saturday following the State of the Union Address."

The ad along with coordinated fliers make radical claims including the following:

"Your government, on the basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq...

"Your government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule...

"People look at all this and think of Hitler — and they are right to do so. The Bush regime is setting out to radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come."

Among those whose signatures appear on the ad are Jane Fonda, Edward Asner, Martin Sheen, Ward Churchill, Cindy Sheehan, and NY State Senator Tom Duane, who seemed to have no problem including his name along with extremists who think America is evil.

Sunday Ponderings: 'Narnia' Reviews

Critics are unhappy with the 'Christianity' in Disney's version of 'Narnia'. Hello? C.S. Lewis was a Christian and original book does have Christian themes.

With 'revisionists' rewriting America's history and atheists trying to strip Christmas of anything religious, should we be surprised that original works of literature, film (and probably art, next) are being challenged?

You know, I think it's time for the challenging to be turned around, like Slate asks in "The Atheist Christmas Challenge - Can you prove God doesn't exist?" With a stance of, "Until you can prove it, we're not giving in or giving up what 85-90% of us (Americans) believe and want expressed in our culture."

Having said that, the vast majority of reviews of Naria go beyond rave!

Writing for Newsmax.com's Hollywood Confidendial, Jason Apuzzo & Govindini Murty say 'Narnia' is a Classic Tale for the Ages. "Walden Media's enchanting "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" opens December 9, and is worthy of support from anyone, whether conservative or liberal, who believes in classic, humanistic storytelling.
Sumptuously produced, intelligently directed and written, "Narnia" is a treat from beginning to end, and does full justice to the original novels by C.S. Lewis" Read the rest of their review.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! The ACLU and Christmas

Found this graphic at FreeRepublic: ACLU: Anti-Christian Lawyers Union, "Jihad with a Law Degree"

Too much reporting about the war on Christmas this year for you? Liberals think so. But that's their style, ie 'there's no reason to go to war against Iraq' et al. As Rep. John Murtha said, "I made a mistake when I voted for the war." Whether it's a real war of arms or a war of philosophy & values, when you're in a battle you stay on the field until it's won, otherwise you could be guilty of being AWOL.

The anti-Christmas-ACLU-crowd is not about to turn and run in their fight against Christmas. There are two ways to beat them: 1) encourage/persuade those (schools, city halls, stores) they have or are intimidating to not give in to their PC threats and to go with the majority 2) win the cases that are brought to courtrooms.

The ACLU originally 'fought' their battles through protesting, then the founder Roger Baldwin, avowed communist, realized he could win more in l court case than in all their other efforts. That's when they shifted their activism to lawsuits. It is worth researching to see how many judges today are sympathetic or associated in any way with the ACLU. For instance, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Reinhardt, who ruled 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, and most recently that parents do not have the exclusive right to information given to their children in sexual matters, is married to Ramona Ripston, the executive director of the ACLU in Southern Calif.

We re-aired my show about this from last Christmas on the show today so we could see the inroads that have been made in just one year. That is why the war on Christmas is more intense this year. You can still hear the show online...

Michael Schiavo Launches Terri Political PAC

WorldNetDaily reported today that Michael Schiavo is planning to form Terri PAC, a political action committee, to raise runds to defeat 'Bible-thumping politicians' who fought to save her life. Schiavo called Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas, Sen. Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., primary targets of the effort. He told Salon that he hoped to impact the upcoming Florida governor's race, which will term-limit out the current governor, Jeb Bush. This is not the first time he's been involved in political activity.

I wonder how many people think he is exploiting his former wife's battle for life, which he fought and won to have taken from her, as ruled by the court?

Howard Dean & John Kerry

Picture Thanks to Sacred Cow Burgers

In case you missed this from Howard Dean, President wanna-be, made the following comments in an interview on WOAI radio out of San Antonio, Texas.
"[The]idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong. I've seen this before in my life. This is the same situation we had in Vietnam. Everybody then kept saying, 'just another year, just stay the course, we'll have a victory.' Well, we didn't have a victory, and this policy cost the lives of an additional 25,000 troops because we were too stubborn to recognize what was happening."
Excuse me. We didn't have victory because the war became politicized...and the troops were brought home before Vietnam was secure.

Then as Hugh Hewitt pointed out, Senator John Kerry on "Face the Nation" this week gave his definition of who the terrorists are:

SCHIEFFER: "All right. Let me shift to another point of view, and it comes from another Democrat, Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. He takes a very different view. He says basically we should stay the course because, he says, real progress is being made. He said this is a war between 27 million Iraqis who want freedom and 10,000 terrorists. He says we're in a watershed transformation. What about that?"

Sen. KERRY: "Let me--I--first of all, there is so much more that unites Democrats than divides us. And Democrats have much more in common with each other than they do with George Bush's policy right now. Now Joe Lieberman, I believe, also voted for the resolution which said the president needs to make more clear what he's doing and set out benchmarks, and that the policy hasn't been working. We all believe him when you say, `Stay the course.' That's the president's policy, which hasn't been changing, which is a policy of failure. I don't agree with that. But I think what we need to do is recognize what we all agree on, which is you've got to begin to set benchmarks for accomplishment. You've got to begin to transfer authority to the Iraqis. And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not...
They both are great representativies of the far left-wing of their party, showing they are clearly out of the mainstream."

HOT OFF THE SHOW! 3 Former-Terrorists Speak out at Princeton

Changing Worldviews listeners got a sneak preview today of one of the most important events of the year. I had Keith Davies, Walid Shoebat's manager, on the show to tell us about the event, and the latest in the Middle East conflict, including the currect aftermath of the pull-out of Jews from Gaza.

Here's the Press Release on the event:

Three former terrorists from the Middle East will hold a press conference at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 8, at the Radisson Hotel, 4355 Route 1 at Ridge Road in Princeton, NJ. A lecture will follow the press conference.

The speakers will discuss the terrorist mindset, and how they were indoctrinated and instructed to kill and maim. A question and answer session will follow.

Walid Shoebat is from a prominent family in Bethlehem. After joining the PLO, he took part in numerous acts of violence against Israel including the bombing of a bank. He was also involved in the attempted lynching of an Israeli soldier. Feature stories on Mr. Shoebat have aired on the BBC, FOX News, MSNBC, CBS and have been published in the Telegraph, Irish Times, National Post, Calgary Sun, and St. Petersburg Times.

Zak Anani was a leader of the most notorious Arab gangs prior to Lebanese civil war. Before he age 16, he killed numerous Arabs in gang warfare and hated the West.

Ibrahim Abadallah was born and raised in Dearborn Michigan to a Jordanian father. At 17 he emigrated to Israel, where he joined the PLO. He injured many Israelis while rioting and throwing Molotov cocktails at them.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Jews for Christmas

Once terribly divided, Jews and Christians are finding the walls between them coming down and a new unity, primarily for two reasons.

Number one because Christians, mostly conservative, seem to be the only ones standing with Israel these days. As recently demonstrated, those standing in solidarity with the Jews who were deported out of their homes and land in Gaza by their own government, were mostly American Jews and Christians. As my friend, Avi Lipkin says, "Jews are finding that Christians are their only friends."

Number two because of the mutually held concern over the violation of religious freedom that is increasing in America, Jews, again primarily conservative, are standing with Christians over the assault against Christmas and discrimination against Christianity as a whole, something they know alot about.

Rabbi Aryeh Spero, of Caucus for America and a guest on my show this week, talked about what's at stake in the battle over Christmas, and why Jews need to speak up for Christmas. His articles on the subject are worthy reads, such as This Christmas Don't Let Them Turn Off the Lights,
'> Once Upon a Time When Americans Had Christmas and Our Battle for the Soul of America. Ted Belman Editor of Israpundit is another Jew speaking up for Christmas.

Bad News for Conservatives in California - Governor Appoints Liberal, Lesbian as Chief of Staff

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appoints liberal, lesbian as his new Chief of Staff

Capitol Weekly reported:

"The chief of staff's position is considered the most powerful administrative position in state government, with broad authority over policy-making and the sprawling bureaucracy. The decision was made following two days of intense, closed-door meetings that included negotiating sessions across the street from the Capitol in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where Schwarzenegger stays while in Sacramento. Kennedy's hiring was the culmination of a five-hour meeting, sources said, at which Kennedy demanded--and got--sole authority over hiring and firing the executive staff. That provision spread anger among Republican insiders, who said they feared a major purge of GOP staffers among the governor's inner circle.

Republicans said Kennedy's hiring had been pushed by Democrats close to the governor--including his wife, Maria Shriver, and advisers Bonnie Reiss and Daniel Zingale. Democrats, meanwhile, said Schwarzenegger's decision was based more on his personal nonpartisan nature, rather than from succumbing to persuasive Democrats.

Kennedy's hiring signals a dramatic shakeup in the inner circle around Gov. Schwarzenegger, who suffered a major political defeat on Nov. 8, when his attempts to overhaul government--including spending limits and the creation of a retired judges' panel to supervise reapportionment--were rejected by voters."

Los Angeles Times columnist George Skelton wrote:

"Indeed, Ms. Kennedy told reporters yesterday: 'I've been 25 years in the Democratic Party, 25 years slogging for candidates and causes I believed in and still believe in. And my philosophy has not changed.'

But her new boss is sweeping past such concerns. 'She's willing to set her Democratic philosophy aside and do the job and do my vision -- to be able to work together with Democrats and Republicans,' he told reporters. He says that '5%" of those he has called are supportive of her appointment.'"

The American Chronicle reports:

"Kennedy, 45, of Marin County, served as Cabinet Secretary for former Governor Gray Davis and was an Executive Director of the California Democratic Party. She is a pro-choice lesbian who got her start in politics working for Phil Angelides and Senator Dianne Feinstein. She attended San Francisco State University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $131,412. She will assume this position on January 1, 2006."

And Free Republic reports that the California Republican Assembly Board of Directors will be voting on a resolution calling for the California Republican Party's withdrawal of their pre-primary endorsement of the Governor.
