YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING! Weekly Quotes #3

"We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgarities. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms...All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome young men." - Michael Swift, 'Gay Revolutionary' printed in the Congressional Record, February 15/21, 1987

"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all." - Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State

"They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets." - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

"Why is this 'National/Global day of Prayer' so bad and worth parodying in the name of 'reason'? Well, for starters they are'nt even attempting to make it an interfaith event or anything, It is purely the Evangelical, Fundamentalist, mainstream Christian Church seeking once again to subvert democracy and interfere w/secular politics to keep the secular govt, state, and world under their thumb and hooked to their strings, and that of their Bible and their god {or their versions/interpretations of them rather}. - Bill Baker, National Day of Reason

More Apostates of Islam

Erick Stakelbeck,Correspondent/Terrorism Analyst for CBN News, who has been a guest on the show several times, will have his story air on the 700 Club on the plight of apostates from Islam.

On the heels of the Abdul Rahman fiasco in Afghanistan, this story is particularly important. He was able to interview the renowned scholar and author, Ibn Warraq, for this piece, as well as a man who converted from Islam to Christianity and was severely persecuted for it by Muslims--right here in the West. Their insights into the dangers faced by those who dare leave Islam are chilling and invaluable, as are their prescriptions for what the West needs to do about it.

The story airs today at 9 am and 11 pm EST on the ABC Family Channel (check local listings). You can also watch it under the 700 Club section at www.cbn.com. Just click on "Watch Now". The piece comes on right after the first commerical break, about 13:56 into the program.

WOMANTALK FRIDAY - Hands Off My Ovaries!

My friend, Jennifer Lahl, Founder and Director of the Center for Bioethics and Culture Network, and WOMANTalk Contributing Writer, as well as our Advisory Board Member of Changing Worldviews on Bioethics, is off to Belgium to speak at "Hands Off Our Ovaries!" - a feminist colloquium on reprotechnology. While Jennifer is not a feminist, this is a tremendous opportunity to speak to women leaders about cloning and culture of life issues.

The other speakers include feminist authors who are concerned about modern reprotech, the physical risks to the female body. They include: Anna Zaborska MEP Chairwoman of European Parliament Committee on Women's Rights; Alessandra Di Pietro and Paola Tavella authors of "Untamed mothers-- Against technorape of the female body"; Isla McGuckin author "Pink for girl--what happens when pregnancy doesn't?"

Jennifer will also speak before the Parliament in Brussels on May 3rd. This is tremendous! Be sure to watch for her account of the trip when she returns at WOMANTalk.us.

We definately live in a Changing World!

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Former Hitler Youth & Holocaust Memorial Day

"In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

- Martin Niemoeller, Lutheran Pastor in Germany

Wednesday - Today is 'Day of Silence'

As I wrote about on Monday and talked about on the show, today is what has become the annual 'Day of Silence', and it's alive and well on our school campuses.

Two years ago I listed some of the events included on campuses, such as Harvard University designating the entire month of April 2004 as "Gaypril" month, hosted by the Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Supporters Alliance on campus, which includes gay pride celebrations, a panel on sadomasochism, 'lobbying' for gender-segregated bathrooms including showing a documentary, "Toilet Training", the popular 'Day of Silence', and more, all for the purpose of addressing "homophobia, biphobia and transphobia."

And Michigan State University's Pride week included a Drag Show, a Speak-Out and Kiss-In at the Administration building in addition to observing the Day of Silence. Not only that but this campus boasts a Gay Faculty, Staff and Graduate Student Associaton which sponsors activities such as the Borders Crossing one day conference "designed to examine critical questions raised by the interlocking nature of oppressions in LBGT contexts." And students entering the teacher education program at San Diego State University must take a course on multicultural education that requires them to take "cultural plunges," rather than tests. Those include taking trips to homosexual bars, and identifying themselves publicly as gay or lesbian -- even if they are not -- to better understand what it feels like to be different.

Iran Stands in Defiance - Says Will Hide Nuclear Technology

Middle East Times reported today that Iran has vowed to ignore the Security Council nuclear deadline to suspend uranium enrichment, and threatened to hide its nuclear program if the West takes "harsh measures".

Top Iranian nuclear negotiator threatened to end cooperation with the U.N. saying any increased pressure on Iran would harden their resolve:

"If you take harsh measures, we will hide this program. If you use the language of force, you should not expect us to act transparently..."
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice responded saying:

"Iranians can threaten, but they are deepening their own isolation."

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Day of Silence this Week

The 2006 Day of Silence will be held on this Wednesday, April 26th. The brainchild of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) the Day of Silence expects teachers to develop lesson plans and set aside their regularly-scheduled lessons for an entire school day in order to allow students' observance of the day, to support political activists and their controversial agenda, by not speaking (that means not participating in class).

Participating students “wear a rainbow ribbon on their shirts and carry a small paper that explains about the day to anyone who asks why they are not speaking.”

And school districts are cooperating. Such as in California: the Los Angeles Unified School District's Reference Guide states: "Students are to be addressed by a name and pronoun that corresponds to the gender identity that the students consistently assert at school. Students may request to be addressed by their “preferred name” (and preferred pronoun) that corresponds to their gender identity without obtaining a court order or without changing their official records. This reference guide acknowledges that inadvertent slips or honest mistakes in the use of the 'preferred' names or pronouns might occur, but it does not condone an intentional and persistent refusal to respect a student’s gender identity."

The San Francisco Unified School District has issued a Suggested Gay Pride Month Curricula and Activities.

The Oakland Unified School District has issued suggestions on Erasing Homophobia.

Is the Day of Silence coming to your child's school? You can check out the schools that participated in 2005 Day of Silence from across the nation around the world, and contact your school to ask if they are planning to observe it, if you don't find it here.

Last year tens of thousands of students countered the Day of Silence with a Day of Truth. Learn about the 2006 Day of Truth here.

WOMANTALK FRIDAY - We've Come a Long Way Baby!

Still thinking about incredible people like Dr. James Dobson (see yesterday's post) who just turned 70 and still works 12 hrs. a day heading up one of the most successful organizations in the nation, Focus on the Family. And then there's Phyllis Schlafly, a dynamic woman and Founder of Eagle Forum, which started as a result of her battle to defeat the ERA, which she and her, mostly women) eagles did. Well, Phyllis is over 80 now and yet she still writes her weekly column, books, hosts her radio show, hosts several conferences a year, appears on TV, and so much more.

They, and others like them, are an absolute inspiration to me! And they survived so much were told we can't survive, and so did you if you were born in the 1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!! So, celebrate your victory & enjoy!

Just take a look (sent to me from a friend):

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they
carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took
hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE
actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back
when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the
bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no
99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell
phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat
rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't
had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They
actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers
and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

Kinda makes you want to go bungee jumping, doesn't it?

“In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal ‘gringo’ invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.” - from El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan (The Spiritual Plan oif Atzlan) one of MEChA's founding documents

"Fire trucks, ambulences, garbage trucks can sometimes be seen riding in extremist convoys, with their flashing lights turned on and their sirens screaming as they pursue and harass a target." - Independent Media Center

Happy Birthday Dr. Dobson

Today is Dr. James Dobson's birthday. And he turned 70 years old. You'd never know it by looking at him or all he does. Jim Daly says of Focus on the Family's Founder, "A lot of people at that age are retiring or playing golf, but Dr. Dobson's still working 12 hour days, using that energy for the Kingdom. And it's a blessing to the staff to know that."

Dr. Dobson's radio show today featured humorous greetings from a number of friends including Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Franklin Graham, Chuck Colson, Bill Gaither and many others. You can hear it here. http://www.family.org/fmedia/broadcast/a0040162.cfm

Taxes Paid by Nation's Two Top Jobs

A survey taken last April by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation revealed that 1 percent of Americans "love" to do their income taxes, while another 11 percent "like" to do them. Now, that doesn't say they love and like to PAY their taxes. They are either people who love to work with numbers, or are structured individuals, but probably more than not those who love/like doing their taxes are anticipating a refund and that's the motivation.

The same survey also revealed that 45 percent of us "dislike" doing our taxes and another 25 percent say they "hate" it. And with good reason, for the amount taxpayers pay their accountants or other services for tax preparation, increased from $112 billion in 1995 to $265 billion in 2005

Oh, and let's not forget that we will be working for Uncle Sam for another full week, until April 26th, this year's Tax Freedom Day. We'll work 116 days our of the 365 days we have in a year just to pay taxes. And in case you didn't know, for the average taxpayer, we work 106 days for food, clothing and housing. That's working 10 days less than we work to pay taxes.

Did you know that not all states have to pay income tax? They include:

Alaska
Florida
Nevada
New Hampshire
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Washington
Wyoming

And the following Countries have no personal income tax either:

Andorra
Bahamas
Bermuda
Bahrain
Brunei
Cayman Islands
Guernsey
Kuwait
Monaco
Oman
Qatar
Somalia
UAE
Vanuatu

Rush Limbaugh has on his site statistics on who pays the most income taxes, and the winner is: the top 50% of wage earners in the country pay 96.03% of the nation's income tax.

This includes President Geroge W. Bush and VP Dick Chaney. The President earned his presidential salary of $400,000 and had some investment income. He and the First Lady contributed about 10% of their income ($75,560) to churches and charity, which included the Red Cross and Salvation Army for U.S. hurricane relief and earthquake aid to Pakistan. They also gave organizations that feed the poor. Their property taxes on their Crawford, TX ranch came to $26,172, an increase of $4,000 from the year before.

I'm sure you heard that the Vice President and Mrs. Cheney reported income of $8.82 million, which was mostly from income from exercising stock options they hadset aside for charity in 2001, of which they donated $6.87 million last year to charity. After their contributions they had $1.95 million left on which they paid $529,636 in taxes. The Vice President's salary amounts to $205,031.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Illegal Immigration & the Spread of Contagious Disease

The following is a portion of a letter sent to Nevadan legislators from a concerned citizen, Patricia Saye of Las Vegas, and forwarded to me by Bonnie O'Neil of California Eagle Forum. This kind of information must be made known to the American people in greater numbers! Please help get the word out...

"In 2001 the Indiana School of Medicine studied an outbreak of MDR-TB, and traced it to Mexican illegal aliens The Queens, New York, health department attributed 81 percent of new TB cases in 2001 to immigrants.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ascribed 42 percent of all new TB cases to 'foreign born' people who have up to eight times higher incidences apparently, 66 percent of all TB cases coming to America originate in Mexico, the Philippines and Vietnam."

Other health threats from illegals include, according to the report:

· Chagas disease, also called American trypanosomiasis or "kissing bug disease," is transmitted by the reduviid bug, which prefers to bite the lips and face. The protozoan parasite that it carries, Trypanosoma cruzi, infects 18 million people annually in Latin America and causes 50,000 deaths. The disease also infiltrates America's blood supply. Chagas affects blood transfusions and transplanted organs. No cure exists. Hundreds of blood recipients may be silently infected.

· Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, was so rare in America that in 40 years only 900 people were afflicted. Suddenly, in the past three years America has more than 7,000 cases of leprosy. Leprosy now is endemic to northeastern states because illegal aliens and other immigrants brought leprosy from India, Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico.

· Dengue fever is exceptionally rare in America, though common in Ecuador, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Mexico. Recently, according to the report, there was a virulent outbreak of dengue fever in Webb County, Texas, which borders Mexico. Though dengue is usually not a fatal disease, dengue hemorrhagic fever routinely kills.

· Polio was eradicated from America, but now reappears in illegal immigrants as do intestinal parasites, says the report.

· Malaria was obliterated, but now is re-emerging in Texas."

My guest today, Erin Anderson, a Senior Analyst for national security issues who traveled over 2,000 miles in Mexico investigating operations which aid the migration of illegal aliens to America, told of very disturbing things that are happening to American landowners and their land by illegals crossing through their border property. This kind of information also needs to be known by the American masses.

Please forward this information on to others.

PETA - is Nothing Sacred to Them?

When PETA compared the slaughtering of pigs for human consumption to the holocaust of the Jews in an ad a couple of years back, I thought that was about as low as you could go.

But this weekend they did it again, dressed as Jesus Christ, covered with blood, carrying crosses, with full head masks of animals, PETA activists protested in Vienna to the outrage of many there.

This wasn't the first time. Easter-time 2004 they had what they called "faith-based" billboard ads which said, "He died for your sins," speaking of the huge pig in the ad picture.

Bruce Friedrich, speaking for PETA in the U.S said, "Words and images aren't offensive to God. What is offensive to God is the satanic treatment of God's creatures by factory farms and slaughterhouses."

They are willing to violate every sense of decent respect or reverence for a shock effect. Nothing seems sacred to them...except animals. And even then that is questionable. Remember last year when it was discovered that PETA workers were dumping lost dogs in dumpsters. The Center for Consumer Freedom bought ads that read, "PETA kills animals". They accused the nonprofit of deceptive money-grabbing while actually killing over a thousand animals every year.

And it's the same people who support radical animals rights activism like this that oppose rights for innocent, unborn humans. This is what thinking gone bad, no mad, no...dark looks like.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! No Match for "The Passion"

It's Easter week, today is Good Friday, and as is becoming more and more commonplace around Christian holidays, there is a group that is waging war against Easter.

On their website, called War on Easter, they admit to hiding copies of the DVD, The God Who Wasn't There, and other items in churches, "to be found by the unsuspecting," and declare that "This Easter, even churches are not safe from the truth."

Just look at the line-up the documentary features: director of the film, Brian Flemming, who calls himself an atheist Christian, Robert M. Price, Professor of Biblical Criticism at the Center for Inquiry Institute, a fellow of the Jesus Seminar, and author of Deconstructing Jesus, professor Richard Dawkins, possibly the world’s best known atheist, an evolutionary biologist and author of several books, author Sam Harris, who won the 2005 PEN Award for his book The End of Faith, which argues that religious faith poses the greatest danger to the human race, and historian Richard Carrier, a philosopher and historian, whose latest book is Sense and Goodness Without God.

The film's trailer makes unsubstantiated claims, in much the same fashion as Michael Moore does in his anti-Bush DVDs.

Whether it's the release of the supposed "gospel of Judas" which claims Judas was a hero and that Jesus schemed with Judas to have him betray him, or "The God Who Wasn't There" film, The goal is to attack people's belief in God. And while they may snag a few vulnerable people in their net, the catch is nothing compared to the numbers and impact Mel Gibson's "The Passion" has had on people.

Man has been trying to wipe Jesus off the hearts of mankind, like radical Muslims have been trying to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, but in both cases, they are never successful.

I discussed this on the show Wednesday with my guests, Pastors David Hughes and Steve Reyes. I hope you can tune in to hear it, as they tell some of the amazing stories that came out of "The Passion" such as the man who admitted to a murder that had been settled as a suicide, after seeing the movie. They also tell the meaning of some of the symbolism in the movie, such as the meaning of the baby satan was carrying in one of the scenes. By the way, did you know that both of the actors who played Paul and Judas in the movie came to faith in Christ after being in the film?

I also encourage you to tune in today to hear an incredible story of how one actress came through her personal experience with AIDS.

By the way, as would be expected, the Pope denounced the claims in the 'gospel of Judas' calling Judas a betrayer, not a special disciple with secret knowledge given only to him by Jesus, as the purported ancient document claims.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! The Da Vinci Code's Outlandish Claims

It's Easter week. The release of the "Judas Gospel" is being hotly debated. Supposedly written after Judas killed himself, it could hardly have been written by Judas! All the other Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) were written by them, thus 'Matthew's Gospel' etc.

Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code is soon to be released as a movie starring Tom Hanks. Most people would read the book or see the movie and walk away, like after watching an action thriller, but when the author makes the claim at the beginning that, "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate" it has the power to draw curiosity to another level.

With thousands reading and believing Brown's book, I thought it would be good to list the theories he "hope(s) that The Da Vinci Code, in addition to entertaining people, will serve as an open door for readers to begin their own explorations."

Here are some of the theories Brown wants you to explore:
~Jesus is not God; he was only a man.
~Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene.
~She is to be worshipped as a goddess.
~Jesus got her pregnant, and the two had a daughter.
~The daughter gave rise to a prominent family line that is present in Europe today.
~The Bible was put together by a pagan Roman emperor.
~Jesus was viewed as a man and not as God until the fourth century, when he was deified by the emperor Constantine.
~The Gospels have been edited to support the claims of later Christians.
~In the original Gospels, Mary Magdalene rather than Peter was directed to establish the Church.
~Magdalene as a goddess is trying to keep the truth alive.
~The Catholic Church is aware of all this and has been fighting for centuries to keep it suppressed. It ofter has committed murder to do so.
~The Catholic Church is willing to and often has assassinated the descendents of Christ to keep his bloodline from growing.

That's enough to convince any thinking person that The Da Vinci Code is not just a novel. The author is involved in fringe organizations and belief structures that should send up warning flags. It's one thing to research secret societies, for instance, it's another thing to be drawn into them via an entertainment sales job, like The DaVinci Code.

Don't know about my claims here, or Brown's? I encourage you to listen to today's show, archived online to hear the basis for these claims from cult expert, Richard Abanes.

Here the show (See 4/10/06)

Horowitz vs. Churchill Debate - Didn't End There

Everyone's talking about the debate which was at the heart of what the battle on college campuses is all about today, between former leftest/Black Panther, now conservative author and founder of FrontPageMag.com, David Horowitz and Professor Ward Churchill, who after the debate defended his leftest, America's-at-fault for 9/11 position on FOX News Hannity & Columes tonight. Sean just wouldn't let him rest, calling for his apology for calling those who died in the trade towers 'little Eichmanns', which he refused to do.

Rightalk.com had a live broadcast of the debate at Georgetown University, held by Students for Academic Freedom. The heart of the debate was the question of whether politics should be in the classroom, & why or why not? Horowitz said, no and did a fantastic job with his argument. Churchill said, yes politics should be in the classroom and it can't be prevented.

If you missed it Rightalk will have it streamed shortly, so keep checking back. You can also hear my show today on The China Threat with David Chu of the China Support Network and Major James Linzey of Operation Freedom. If you're not up on China's slave-labor camps and forced organ donation or their training Mexican soldiers you can still hear the show online here. It's IPOD-able, too.
