HOT OFF THE SHOW! Aug. 22nd Came and Went

Speculation on whether Iran's prez Ahmadinejad would make a major move to attack Israel, or the western world, was just that...speculation...at least it happening on Aug. 22nd.

But, make no mistake Ahmadinejah does believe that it is his 'call' to help usher in the long-awaited Muslim 'Mahdi' and he is willing to trigger an apocalyptic event in order to hasten this 'coming.' (According to Islam belief the 'Mahdi' can only come under such circumstances).

To expand on this Islamie teaching...this Muslim 'Jesus' is coming back as a Muslim warrior and will kill all the Jews and Christians as well as the anti-Christ...who is a Jew.

There are varying versions amongst Muslims of who this 'Mahdi'is, however, a serious look at the history of Islam is essential in interpreting the religious ferver that is driving current radical and fundamentalist Islamic activities around the world today.

Avi Lipkin and Walid Shoebat have some tremendous resources to this end.

Following the UN cease-fire resolution re war between Israel and Lebanon, Ahmadinejad said this, "God's promises have come true. On one side, it's corrupt powers of the criminal U.S. and Britain and the Zionists ... with modern bombs and planes. And on the other side is a group of pious youth relying on God."

On Tuesday's show we talked about this and the increase of similar attitudes found on our college campuses today.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein is Right on this One - Border Patrol

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to review the case of two Border Patrol agents who face 20 years in prison for violating a drug smuggler's civil rights.

Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos told the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin in Ontario, California about his run-in with the drug smuggler, Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila. A fellow agent, Jose Alonso Compean, has not talked to the press on the advice of his lawyer while his hearing is pending.

Last week, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, called for a congressional investigation and hearing on this case. And last Friday, Sen. Feinstein, who serves on the same Committee, asked panel chairman Sen. Arlen Specter, to hold a committee hearing on the case. "It appears that the facts do not add up or justify the length of the sentences for these agents, let alone their conviction on multiple counts. Border agents often have a difficult and dangerous job in guarding our nation's borders. Undue prosecution of Border Patrol agents could have a chilling effect on their ability to carry out their duties." She also sent a letter last week to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, asking him personally to review the case.

I don’t always agree with the positions of Sen. Diane Feinstein, but this one I can applaud.

'Mary Roe' Steps Forward on Abortion & the "health of the mother"

Jane Doe and Mary Roe

Sandra Cano, the 'Jane Doe' in the landmark Doe v. Bolton abortion case filed an Appeal with Supreme Court to have the 1973 abortion-on-demand decision reconsidered and overturned.

Roe v. Wade made it a constitutional right to have an abortion. Doe v. Bolton added the "health of the mother" exception which made abortion legal during any time of the pregnancy, including all the way up to birth.

The Justice Foundation, a pro-family legal group in Texas, is involved in this attempt which is similar to the one made by Norma McCorvey, the 'Jane Roe' in Roe v. Wade.

August 22nd - the Day Iran's Prez is Waiting For?

If you haven't heard about the speculation regarding the significance of Aug. 22nd, to the Muslim world and in particular to Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who believes it is his 'call' to help usher in the Muslim 'messiah' who Muslims believe will come to destroy all 'unbelievers'. Just one week ago, a Palestinian woman was stabbed 29 times and in front of a bank's video monitors. She was stabbed by her brother, who did it in public view because he "wanted to restore the family's honor." Her crime was that she was raising her daughter in a way he didn't approve.

In Australia police are told to handle domestic violence in Muslim homes differently - to let the clerics deal with it as it is 'part of their culture.'

First, did you know Hillary Clinton offered to 'White house sit' for the President this month while he is 'on vacation?' She said, "I would water plants and take in the mail, and if any Presidential Daily Briefings come across the desk with titles like 'Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the U.S.,' I would read those for him."

No joke. She's getting a little over-anxious, wouldn't you say?

HOT OFF TUESDAY LIVE! Mosques in Britian Hide Weapons

Talked about the latest terror plot that was thwarted in the UK last week, on the show today, asking listeners if it has heightened their concern of more attempted attacks on the U.S.?

One listener, Wes from El Sobrante sent an email saying:

"Since there haven't been any hijackings or major attacks since 9/11, my confidence is fairly high. However, the "liquid explosives" plot and the strange men purchasing mass quantities of cell phones illustrates several points:

1) Jihadis ARE out there, waiting and plotting.
2) They have strange imaginations, and so should we.
and 3) Intelligence is vital, no matter what the NY
Times thinks."

Jim Kouri, VP of National Assn of Chiefs of Police writes in, "Britain's Muslim Clerics Command Secret Militias"...scary!

"Now that radical imam Abu Hamza is a convicted felon and probably will be extradited and face terror charges in the United States, clerics from other mosques are finally coming forward to tell the world how Hamza sent teams of young supporters -- his own private militia -- in Britain with orders to takeover other mosques.

Several clerics told stories of being threatened by gangs claiming to be members of Abu Hamza’s Supporters of Sharia group. Some of the clerics were beaten inside their own mosques, and worshippers were bullied into finding new places to pray -- and the police refused to intervene, they claim.

One police official, under condition of anonymity, said that law enforcement executives in Britain were overly cautious about their interaction with Muslim leaders and their mosques. He claims that several radical Islamic clerics possess their own private militias -- fully armed and operating in total secrecy.

Police came underfire when they swarmed one mosque with search warrants in hand. To their credit they uncovered a cache of weapons, forged identity documents and recipes for chemical weapons such as the highly dangerous Ricin; all of it hidden in the mosque.

The stash of equipment included chemical warfare protection suits, or NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) suits, as they are technically known. British detectives believe the equipment and weapons were being used in terror training camps located somewhere within the United Kingdom."

HOT OFF THE SHOW: A New Political Party in Israel Forming

My guest today, Avi Lipkin, author and former IDF Officer under Prime Minister Yizhak Shamir, is forming a new political party in Israel, the Judeo-Christian Party, that he envisions taking over a dozen seats in the Knesset in the next election. He also envisions Jews and Christians working arm and arm.

He says that Christians have had no voice in Israel's primary legislative body, but his party "will have Christian activists and Christian candidates running for the Knesset ... because the Christian population in Israel has grown in the last 15 years from two percent to eight percent of Israel's voting population."

Currently, Muslims basically represent 15 percent of Israel's population and have 12 members on the Knesset. "The reason I'm forming this party is because Israel is a multi-party system, and none of the parties in Israel have any kind of Christian representation. Christians are serving the army, risking their lives on the battlefield alongside their Jewish brethren," he says. "It cannot be that eight percent of the population is not represented in the Knesset."

Will it work? We'll be watching to see.

GOOD NEWS AMERICA: It's Been a Half Decade

With the recent terror plot to blow up 10 airplanes headed for the United States from the UK thwarted, and then two men in Michigan arrested for suspicious activities...purchasing hundreds of cell phones, thought to be used for making calls and throwing them away so they can't be traced, everyone is thinking about the war on terrorism. After 9/11 - who thought we'd get through a year, let alone a 1/2 decade, without another attack on our soil here in America? We can thank God and be grateful for our government putting safeguards in place, including better intelligence, to protect us.

And while liberals try to politicize the war by saying it's President Bush's fault that terror has increased in the world because of the war in Iraq, it's really they who have tried to scare Americans into thinking we're weak, can't win, apply pressure to 'bring our troops home', etc.

Tony Snow, Press Spokesperson for the Present said that Pres. Bush gets up every day. He gets assessments of how scary the world really is. "You want to get scared? Look at the stuff he looks at every morning! He's been working very persistently at it. After September 11th, both political parties worked together. I'll tell you what. You want to put an end to politicization? Great. Everybody roll up their sleeves and figure out how to beat terrorists around the world. That's what we need to be doing right now."

It's good news we have a President who doesn't hold his finger up to the wind to see what position he's going to taken in the war on terror.

Hollywood 'Hit' - "World Trade Center" Opens Day of Terror Plot Discovery

I normally use this 'blog column' to 'hit' Hollywood, but it's interesting to note that Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center" movie opened nationwide yesterday...the same day the new terror plot against America and the UK was uncovered and stopped.

Paramount executives uncertain about how the latest events will effect ticket sales, decided to stick with its original advertising plan.

I haven't seen the film yet, but when I do I'll address the controversy that is surrounding the film.

Just in: Terror Plot in UK Thwarted

8/10/06 7 am UK - Sky News reporting via FOX News that a terror plot in the UK was stopped by British police and intelligence operations, which said was very close to succeeding.

At least 20 British Airways airplanes is thought to have been targeted that were headed for the United States, which could have resulted in the deaths of 4,000 passengers.

12 people were arrested, thought to be of British born, Pakistani origins.

Plot was thought to capitalize on the recent British relaxing of hand-help luggage restrictions. The UK threat level is now at the 'critical' level. And no hand luggage is allowed at all as a result.

3rd World Women Sell Fetuses

LifeNews.com reports;
"Women in underdeveloped nations are paid up to $200 dollars to carry a
baby up to the optimum eight to 12 week period when the fetuses are
"harvested" for their stem cells which are then sold to exclusive
cosmetic clinics."

Women from around the world travel to more than 50 clinics such as the Cellulite Clinic in Moscow, or Barbados, Rotterdam, and the Dominican Republic, which offer treatments such as face lifts and cosmetic surgery using cells from various sources including aborted babies and human embryos.

Offering to make women 'look 10 years younger' seems more important that the bio-ethical issues of such treatments.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Scientific Tug of War on Global Warming

Our friend, Marc Morano, former Sr. Staff writer for CNS News, now working with Senator James Inhofe on the Committee on Environment and Public Works, continues his credible work on environmental issues. In a press release entitled AP INCORRECTLY CLAIMS SCIENTISTS PRAISE GORE’S MOVIE March lists a small sampling of what scientists have said about the "An Inconvenient Truth" which we talked about on the show on our Tuesday LIVE! show, and will be the focus of discussion on today's show:

Gore’s claim that global warming is causing the snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro to disappear has also been debunked by scientific reports. For example, a 2004 study in the journal Nature makes clear that Kilimanjaro is experiencing less snowfall because there’s less moisture in the air due to deforestation around Kilimanjaro.

Here is a sampling of the views of some of the scientific critics of Gore:

Professor Bob Carter, of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University in Australia, on Gore’s film:

"Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention."

Richard S. Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT, wrote:

“A generalcharacteristic of Mr. Gore's approach is to assiduously ignore the fact that theearth and its climate are dynamic; they are always changing even without any external forcing. To treat all change as something to fear is bad enough; to do so in order to exploit that fear is much worse.” - Lindzen wrote in an op-ed in the June 26, 2006 Wall Street Journal

Gore’s film also cites a review of scientific literature by the journal Science which claimed 100% consensus on global warming, but Lindzen pointed out the study was flat out incorrect.

“…A study in the journal Science by the social scientist Nancy Oreskes claimed that a search of the ISI Web of Knowledge Database for the years 1993 to 2003 under the key words "global climate change" produced 928 articles, all of whose abstracts supported what she referred to as the consensus view. A British social scientist, Benny Peiser, checked her procedure and found that only 913 of the 928 articles had abstracts at all, and that only 13 of the remaining 913 explicitly endorsed the so-called consensus view. Several actually opposed it.” -Lindzen wrote in an op-ed in the June 26, 2006 Wall Street Journal.

Roy Spencer, principal research scientist for the University of Alabama in Huntsville, wrote an open letter to Gore criticizing his presentation of climate science in the film:

“…Temperature measurements in the arctic suggestthat it was just as warm there in the 1930's...before most greenhouse gasemissions. Don't you ever wonder whether sea ice concentrations back then werelow, too?”- Roy Spencer wrote in a May 25, 2006 column.

Former University of Winnipeg climatology professor Dr. Tim Ball reacted to Gore’s claim that there has been a sharp drop-off in the thickness of the Arctic ice cap since 1970.

"The survey that Gore cites was a single transect acrossone part of the Arctic basin in the month of October during the 1960s when we were in the middle of the cooling period. The 1990 runs were done in the warmer month of September, using a wholly different technology,” –Tim Ball said, according to the Canadian Free Press.

General Plans that restrict property owners' use of their land if it has a stream running through it have local residents in an uproar!

In Sonoma County, California the City of Santa Rosa's new General Plan (GP2020) dictates that if a stream of any kind is on your property, even if small and drys up in the summer, you are restricted from using 100 ft on either side of the stream for any purpose. If you have a fence it must be open 18 inches from the ground up so natural critters can get through. If you want to sell your house the stream and the 100 ft on both sides for as long as the stream goes cannot be included in the sale.

Imagine this! And other ridiculous 'environmentally friendly' restrictions lie: if you have a motion light detector, you can't use it because it prevents people from enjoying the stars at night. This is only a taste of what is going on.

Citizens are in not putting up with it. Over 600 attended the planning meetings. Law suits have been threatened. One vineyard owner stands to lose over 8,000 acres!

A Sierra Club representative said she didn't understand why everyone was so upset, "This land is your land, this land is my land. No one can own mother earth. It belongs to all of us."

Too much to write about, but you can hear all about it online, which I highly recommend you listen to, because you need to know, as our guest, who has 8 acres and will lose use of 3-4 acres if it passes in her city, outlines - don't think that it won't come to your city. It may already be in the works. We will keep our eye on this violation of several constitutional rights.

The Senate passed a bill last week to protect the Mt. Soledad Cross that would place war memorial under federal control. The legislation now goes to the president, who has pledged to sign it into law.

The memorial came under attack again by the ACLU because of the 29-foot-tall cross that commemorates fallen soldiers. The ACLU has fought this for over 15 years.

As the war in Israel, and anti-Israel, anti- America protests escalate in the Middle East, pressure also increases to get out of Iraq, to 'get out of this whole mess!' But stability in responses and not reactions is what is needed in times like these. We must be led by wisdom and truth and not by fear. And certainly, not by passivity!

Remember, there were those in America who did not want to get involved in what Hitler was doing in Europe. Had we followed that reasoning, well just think what the world would be like today.

It is a time to hold steady in our emotions, a time to be vigilant as a nation, and a time for all of us to pray!

Hollywood 'Hit' - More on Moore's 'Sicko'

Producer of the anti-Bush film, Fahrenheit 9/11, he says he's shot about 75% of his next propaganda hit-job… oh, excuse me… 'documentary'… on the U.S. health-care system, called "Sicko"… which is slated to be released in 2007. Writing to his 'followers' on his website Michael Moore says, “If people ask, we tell them "Sicko" is ‘a comedy about 45 million people with no health care in the richest country on earth.’

Unfortunately, because the system is in a mess he will probably find a receptive audience, and then, as NewsMax' Hollywood Confidential writers say, ‘slip in the poison pill of pushing socialized medicine.’ Does somebody know if Moore himself plans on taking a cut of the "Sicko" profits? We wouldn't want him profiting off other peoples' misery, obviously.’

Michael Moore, says, “I'm a millionaire, I'm a multi-millionaire. I'm filthy rich. You know why I'm a multi-millionaire? Cause multi-millions like what I do”. If that’s true, let me ask those multi-millions who like what he does: Do you like these ‘swirled views’ of his? - “There's a gullible side to the American people. They can be easily misled. Religion is the best device used to mislead them.” How about: “These bast!#xs who run our country are a bunch of conniving, thieving, smug pri!#*s who need to be brought down and removed and replaced with a whole new system that we control.”

I could go on…but won’t…You know, Michael Moore is free have these views, and speak, write, make propaganda films about his anti-Bush, anti-America views…simply put…because of the traditional, faith-based, conservative foundations and views of the founders of America…I wonder how long Michael Moore would last in China where they have internet police that monitor and make arrests for searching words such as ‘freedom’ or ‘liberty’…or in some of the Arab nations, such as was under Saddam Hussein, where if you disagree with the leader you may be……killed?

HOT OFF TUESDAY LIVE! Local Property Rights Grabbed

Maria from Sebastopol, California called into the show today about the GP2020 (General Plan) her county is adopting which will take some of her land because a stream runs through it. Here's her email account:

The planning commission of Sonoma County is adopting a new general plan that will have horrific effects on our lives. It is a serious and evident land grab...The land grab initiative has been fought in both Napa and Santa Cruz counties recently with a poor outcome. I am saddened that Sonoma County has come to this end. The Sierra Club, et al, is fighting hard to take away what we cherish. I attended the first large meeting of the planning commission on GP 2020 and it has impacted me greatly. If they meet their end goal, it will bankrupt quite a few of us. As an example: I have a 3 acre piece of properly. I have it mortgaged and taxed for 3 acres. The county passes this general plan... I must not use 1 1/2 acres of my land since a little winter stream goes through it. I must remove my fence that protects my property and my children when they play outside.(If)I want to sell my house and land... Now, I must sell it as a 1 1/2 acre site, since 1 1/2 acres was taken by the county and deemed the land of the animal kingdom, but I still carry the mortgage on the full 3 acres. The county has no plans to reimburse my losses.

GOOD NEWS AMERICA: Tough Law for Pedophiles

President Bush was joined by “America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh, as hesigned a new law on Thursday, named for Walsh’s 6-yr old son, Adam, who was abducted & murdered exactly 25 years ago. The law requires convicted child molesters to be listed on a national Internet data-base and face felony charges if they fail to update their whereabouts.

It aims to help police find more than 100,000 sex offenders by creating the first national online listing of convicted molesters, which will be available to the public and searchable by ZIP code. It also calls for harsh federal punishment for sexually assaulting children, including the possibility of the death penalty when a victim is murdered.

Child advocates have called the bill the most sweeping legislation to target pedophiles in years. It establishes a federal DNA data base of convicted molesters, provides federal funding for states to track pedophiles, allows victims to sue their molesters and also dramatically increases penalties for anyone who downloads child pornography off the internet. And this is good news!

A little different show today talking about positive ways to help inner city youth overcome the odds of their environment. RC Williams is a testimony to this having grown up in Richmond, California, a city with one of the highest crime rates, and a grad from Richmond High, the 'fence' between the 'Bloods' and the 'Crips'. He mentors inner city kids today with a positive, reality-based message. RC is also part of our radio show production team, being a graduate of the Columbia School of Broadcasting.
