WOMANTALK FRIDAY - Celebrate the 4th - Flaunt the Flag

While our enemies burn, walk and stomp on our flag, and the U.S. Senate voted down a ban to protect it from desecration, the majority of Americans love our country and are grateful for the sacrifices of both our founders and soldiers who gave and preserve the freedoms we enjoy.

So, don't just have fun this 4th - Celebrate it! Fly the flag high. Flaunt it! And pass the baton on to the next generation to do likewise. We have very good reasons to do so.

Plus check out what our writers have posted this week at WOMANTalk.us:

Your Answers on Flag Desecration

Thank you for responding. Survey showed overwhelmingly in favor of the ban. Some really great responses. Some too long to post all, but here is a taste from the first seven responses:

In my opinion, burning the American flag is like spitting in the face of every American and I would have voted in favor of a ban- absolutely. To me, the flag is not an idol, but a symbol representing the blood that was shed for freedom...Raymond Reinhold Holmes

I look at our flag the same as our Constitution. Don't mess with them or you are on the fighting side of me...Ray Thornhill

I would support flag burning if the 34 senators who voted NO would wrap themselves up in it first and then allow their constituents to toss them into an inferno of flames. Put Ted Kennedy in the first one, Hitlery second...Nedd Kareiva, Director, Stop the ACLU Coalition

Yes, I probably would have voted to ban flag burning, etc. I am torn because I don't think that the greatness of a nation is measured by the number of laws on the books but...We do enjoy unfathomable liberty and freedom of speech in the United States, and we must protect those rights...Karen Gibson

I would have voted for the amendment to stop flag burning...Edward E. Weinblum

Absolutely, desecrating our flag is no different than attacking the twin towers. It is an attack on our heritage and hate towards our democracy and way of life...Greg Crabtree

Help at the Pump...

Had to get the tank filled on the way home from the studio today...$3.06 per gallon = $60 + bill.

While the pundits discuss the price of oil and what world events will cause a rise or fall in the price at the pump, here is something to help at the pump now...

Enter your zip code in the site below, and it tells you which gas stations have the cheapest prices (and the highest) on gas in your zip code area. It's updated every evening. Take your laptop on vacation with you and find out the best prices everywhere you go.

As my friend says, be a good neighbor and pass this on .

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Homosexuality and American Life

WorldNetDaily reports that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to speak at a homosexual fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans. Though the Log Cabin gave up on President Bush after he promoted a federal marraige amendment, they have not given up on Schwarzenegger even though he vetoed a gay marriage bill last fall.

Randy Thomasson of Campaign for Children and Families is calling for the governor to cancel his participation in the event saying:
"No Republican governor in California history has promoted transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality like Arnold Schwarzenegger has. In the last three years, Schwarzenegger has delighted homosexual activists by signing most of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) bills that the Democrat-controlled Legislature has placed on his desk. This spring, Schwarzenegger signed an official proclamation celebrating the 'success of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Celebrations. Now, in an unprecedented act honoring transsexual-bisexual-homosexual 'pride' (which is parading through cities nationwide this month), Schwarzenegger has done the unthinkable: He's agreed to be the top fund-raising speaker for homosexual activists."
And make money for them the governor will at $250 per plate and $5,000 per photo with him donation.

We had a good discussion today on the show with my guest Dr. Christopher Wolfe, author of "Same Sex Matters" and "Homosexuality and American Life." As always you can hear it online using the link below.

GOOD NEWS AMERICA: The Man who Cracked the Genome Says He's Now Discovered God

Francis Collins, the director of the US National Human Genome Research Institute, and co-discoverer of the human genome, claims there is a rational basis for a Creator.

Believing it's a tragedy that there's been a 'war' between science and religion, his book, The Language of God, will be published in September. And he joins the company of other scientists who believed the same: Isaac Newton who said, “This most beautiful system could only proceed from the dominion of an intelligent and powerful being,” And Einstein who believed the universe had a creator. “I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details.” and many others.

WOMANTalk Friday: Polygamy 2

Most people aren't aware that according to the Koran, polygamy is allowed in Islam. Muslims may disagree on how to interpret it and what rules to apply, but let's not forget their modern day harams fit well in a male-dominate society.

On today's show we concluded our 2-part Special on Polygamy's Victims . Andrea Moore Emmett talked about some of the 18 women she interviewed and wrote about in her book, God's Brothel. Striking and heart-wrenching! I encourage you to listen to today's and last Friday's show.

Exclusive Film Footage on Terrorism in America

This week as more terrorist leaders are killed and weapons of mass destruction are found in Iraq, three x-terrorists, including Walid Shoebat, who has been on the show several times, Ibrahim Abdallah and Zachariah Anani, presented exclusive film footage (by The Investigative Project), of well known terrorists and their indoctrination activities in
A few of the prominent terrorists featured in the film are:

Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi: A leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood, who issues fatwas supporting suicide bombing. According to Azzam Tamimi of the Institute of Islamic Political Thought in London: "If Sheik Qaradawi gives a fatwa, that fatwa will be heeded tomorrow in hundreds of places around the world.”

Sheikh Muhammad Sayyam: On March 26, 2006, Muhammad Sayyam, a senior Hamas figure, met with Sayyid Salah al-Din, leader of the Kashmiri terror organization, Hezb ul-Mujahidin, in Peshawar, Pakistan. Hezb ul-Mujahidin functioned as an al-Qaeda affiliate and had training camps in Afghanistan until the Taliban's fall from power. Sayyam now heads the Yemeni branch of the Palestine Scholars Association, which advocates uncompromising jihad against unbelievers and legally sanctioned suicide bombings against civilians. He sees the role of Muslim religious sages as spiritual guides whose task is to motivate the masses to struggle against Islam's enemies and attack them with suicide bombings.

Fayez Azzam: One of the right hand men to bin Laden and the younger brother of Abdullah Azzam, bin Laden’s mentor. "Allah's religion be praised must offer martyrs. Blood must flow. There must be widows and there must be orphans. Hands and limbs must be cut and the limbs and flood must be spread everywhere in order that Allah's religion stand on its feet," Fayez Azzam said.

Speaking of Mainstreaming...

(thanks to Brian Camenker at MassResistance)...

Macy's in downtown Boston showcased gay pride with window displays. Go here to see what "Boston Gay Pride Week" activities Macy's is so eager to support.

Some sponsors and participants of the Pride parade are:

-New England Leather Alliance ("Serving the Leather/Fetish/SM community for over 10 years" - "Marching to celebrate our kinky PRIDE". They'll also have a tent on the Common.)

-Independent Pagans of New England ("The Witches' Voice: Witches, Wiccans, Druids, solitaries, mages")

-PolyBoston (group promoting polyamory: group sex/relationships)

-Ramrod ("leather & Denim cruise bar") & Machine Nightclub (boasts "Largest gay club foam party - hot men dancing - gogo boys cruise bar - backroom dancers - xxx video theater")

-Good Vibrations (sex toy, XXX video store)

After a tidal wave of calls, Macy's removed the mannequins. (Also, the Boston Pride and AIDS Action Committee websites have been taken them off) But the "Pride" sign is still there.

Here's the email that Macy's is sending back to people who have contacted them on this.

To: -------

Like many other community initiatives and organizations that Macy's has supported over the years, including window displays and programs in celebration of Black History Month and St. Patricks Day, the window currently showcasing events for Boston Pride week at Macy's downtown supports a diverse part of our community. Macy's respects the many backgrounds, traditions, beliefs and heritage of all our customers and will continue to support a range of community causes, organizations, and initiatives that add to the cultural diversity of the markets we serve.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Modern Day Paganism

Tal Brooke, President of Spiritual Counterfeits Project out of Berkeley, author of numerous books, son of a diplomat, and former right-hand man for the 'miracle-working' guru, Sai Baba, (Tal's story of how he left the guru to become a Christian is fascinating), has been on the show several times. Since June 21st is 'summer soltice' we re-aired the program we did with him on "The Burning Man" and modern day paganism.

Tal is serious business when it comes to the subject, having spoken at Oxford and the like. I first met Tal years ago and invited him to speak to a group on his book, One World. I recommend his and SCP's work, and, of course, today's show.

Latest journal is on Opus Dei & the Da Vinci Code.

Pentagon Lists Homosexuality As Disorder

Gay Pride has a little less to celebrate this month with the following news just in from the AP via Breitbart:

"A Pentagon document classifies homosexuality as a mental disorder, decades after mental health experts abandoned that position. The document outlines retirement or other discharge policies for service members with physical disabilities, and in a section on defects lists homosexuality alongside mental retardation and personality disorders. Critics said the reference underscores the Pentagon's failing policies on gays, and adds to a culture that has created uncertainty and insecurity around the treatment of homosexual service members, leading to anti-gay harassment. The Pentagon has a "don't ask, don't tell" policy that prohibits the military from inquiring about the sex lives of service members but requires discharges of those who openly acknowledge being gay. There were 726 military members discharged under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy during the budget year that ended last Sept. 30. That marked the first year since 2001 that the total had increased."

Sharp criticism has come out against this action, and James H. Scully, Jr., head of the APA (American Psychiatric Association) wrote in a letter to the Defense Dept's chief doctor, "Based on scientific and medical evidence the APA declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1973 - a position shared by all other major health and mental health organizations based on their own review of the science."

**In an exclusive interview I learned that our troops are told in their briefings before being sent to Iraq that homosexual practices are common in Arab nations. You can hear more about this on the show this Friday on Polygamy's Victims, part 2, and on our Special,"Mainstreaming Gay Pride Month," on June 30th.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Plantation Talk & Hillary

Everyone's familiar with Hillary Clinton's plantation remark about the GOP:

"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about." -Hillary Clinton

But did you hear what her husband said recently when asked what his role would be if his wife became president?

"I'll do whatever she wants, and I have no idea what that is." -Bill Clinton

Father's Day - The Importance of Dad

HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the Dads!

While statistics are sited for the effects the increase of fatherless homes and absentee dads cause, we have to remember that there are more good fathers who are doing their best to raise their children responsibly, than not. Even if the kids don't appreciate dad...yet.

I pulled this out of my files, you may have seen it...

"How Fathers Mature"
At 4 Years: My daddy can do anything
7 Years: My dad knows a whole lot
9 Years: Dad doesn't know quite everything
12 Years: Dad just doesn't understand
14 Years: Dad is old-fashioned
21 Years: That man is out of touch
25 Years: Dad's okay
30 Years: I wonder what Dad thinks about this
35 Years: I must get Dad's input first
50 Years: What would Dad have thought about that?
60 Years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.

Then there's these true life stories from Duane's file he's used often in speeches...

"Jonathan Edwards vs. Max Jukes"
The family of Max Jukes-a man of no principle
-married a girl of like character in 1677
-among his known descendents, 1200 were studied:
310 were professional beggars
440 had lives that were physically wrecked by debauchery and uncleanliness
130 were sent to prison for an average of 13 years each
7 were murderers
100 were alcholoholics
60 were habitual thieves
190 were public prostitutes
Only 20 of the 1200 Jukes ever had gainful employment (the others were either criminals or lives on state aid)
This notorious clan cost the state of New York a total of $1,200,000 in welfare and custodial charges - back then.

Family of Jonathan Edwards
-from a good Christian family
-married a girl of like character
-from among his traceable 1400 descendants came:
300 clergymen, missionaries and theological professors
13 college presidents
65 college professors
100 lawyers, and a dean of an outstanding law school
30 judges
66 physicians and a dean of a medical school
80 holders of public office
3 U.S. Senators
Mayors of large cities
Governors of 3 states
a Controller of the U.S. Treasury
1 Vice-President of the United States
The family wrote 135 books and sent 100 missionaries overseas.

You can still hear my Father's Day 'Man on the Street' Special - adults and children alike tell what they think about the importance of Dad...

WOMANTALK FRIDAY - HBO's "Big Love" is a Big Lie!

At last...
Addressing Women's Issues from the Right

Oprah may be crashing weddings and the Food Network may be turning up the grill, but there's much more to talk about...

There are women who may have started out wearing rose colored glasses but soon found out that the 'rose garden' they were promised was a lie.

I'm not talking about mere disappointment in relationships. I'm talking about lies, corruption, abuse and heart-wrenching situations many women find themselves victims of, with little help to escape. I'm talking about the victims of polygamy.

Our WOMANTalk two-part Special on "Polygamy's Victims" airing today, June 16th and 23rd, uncovers a web of fear and threats, few find the courage and help they need to escape, as those who are elected or appointed to protect them...don't. Why? That's what we expose.

Please help me get the word out on this very important two-part Special and to expose the big lie about HBO's 'Big Love.'

Today is Flag Day - Hang 'Old Glory' Proudly

While Americans hang out their flag for Flag Day, a time of recognition of what the stars and stripes stand for...

...including the hard-fought freedoms won by our troops...

...liberals in Congress are urging the Senate to reject S.J. Res. 12, a constitutional amendment that would ban desecration of the flag.

Senators Patrick Leahy, (D-VT), Russ Feingold, (D-WI), and Edward Kennedy (D-MA) voiced their opposition to the resolution to the Senate which is expected to consider the Flag Desecration Amendment soon.

Q: What do you think? Does a ban on desecrating the flag infringe on our freedoms? Yes or No?

I don't know how many flags our family has gone through because of weather-fading, but it's also a great feeling to display 'Old Glory', whether old or new, and Flag Day is a great time to hang a new one...a big one...proudly.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Terrorist Indoctrination in the U.S.

Terrorism expert, Erick Stakelbeck, told about the disturbing things he witnessed and heard while interviewing one of the top Muslim clerics in Michigan. You can still hear this important show online HERE.

Plus mark your calendar for a very important event:

On June 20, 2006 3 ex-terrorists, including Walid Shoebat, who I've had on the show several times, will kick off a nation-wide campaign, with an exclusive viewing of film footage exposing growing terrorism in the U.S. Held at the Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, they will convey their life experience, tell why they were terrorists, and give insight into the real causes of terrorism.

While the U.S. seeks to target Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's successor, terrorism indoctrination within the U.S. continues to flourish at an alarming rate. These three former terrorists will present never before seen film footage, which provides evidence of long standing extremist operations that are festering here in the U.S. One of the former terrorists will discuss the training he received by his mentor, who is featured in the film.

The exclusive footage, produced by The Investigative Project, includes: A commemoration of the martyrdom of Abdullah Azzam, the mentor of Osama bin Laden. A detailed report by a masked Hamas commander on his squad's killings and assassinations. A lecture by the head of a terrorist group to a packed audience, (including small children), calling for them to chop off the heads of "unbelievers." A Friday night sermon addressing an audience of American children on the nobility of killing.

Journalists Applaud Al-Zarqawi’s Death

Having vowed loyalty to Osama bin Laden in 2004 and orchestrating what the Washington Post calls the bloodiest suicide bombings of the insurgency, beheading hostages and slaughtering thousands if Iraqis in order to incite a civil war with the goal of driving America’s presence out of Iraq, al-Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. air strike along with his spiritual advisor, Sheik Abdul Rahman, on Wednesday.

Iraqis provided the intelligence and U.S. forces conducted 17 raids culminating in a target hit on the most-wanted militant terrorist leader, who had the same U.S. bounty on his head as Osama bin Laden - $25 million.

His identity was confirmed by fingerprints, and when Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced al-Zarqawi’s death loud applause broke from Iraqi journalists.

What? Journalist applauding the news? Think about it. Iraqi journalists broke out in loud applause at the news of al-Zarqawi’s death! Did American journalists do the same when President Bush announced the news? Or in another venue? Nope.

The Left’s talk show hosts were off the chart on the news. As pointed out by Tim Graham at Newsbusters:

“I caught some of the opening minutes of the Stephanie Miller show today (on Air America). They were playing clips of the Rose Garden Bush remarks and just mocking his accent. "He's extra-twangy today," mocked Miller. The show's impressionist started doing Bush in a William Buckley-esque Connecticut accent, implying the Texas talk is all phony. Then they began joking "we're auditioning for a new boogey-man," as if Zarqawi was a phantom in a closet.”

And on his way home from work he caught Randi Rhodes on the same channel, who clearly is in the running for the most biased, blind, complete spin-off-the-planet comments!

“Hoo boy. She was saying Zarqawi was our boy, someone we protected in the no-fly zone from Saddam Hussein, and then used as an excuse for war. A few minutes later, she complained it was a "sick, psychotic" day for news, and said the rulers of America were "imperialistic, hegemonistic....dictators."

Unbelievable! The days that follow I’m sure will find more liberal ‘reasoning’ to why catching this mass murderer of the Iraqi people and our troops is no big deal. Just watch.

WOMANTALK FRIDAY - Advocating for Women from the Right

At last... Addressing Women's Issues from the Right

Now, through WOMANTalk we are advocating for women and young girls, such as in our upcoming two-part special on Polygamy's Victims with author, Andrea Moore Emmett, of "God's Brothel". This issue is much more far reaching than just the legality of polygamy. The abuses of rape, incest and violence of women and young girls is heart-wrenching. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING! Quotes #2

"Movies may affect people's lives, but they don't have the long-lasting effect of a home-visit program." - Rob Reiner

"The religious right has clearly adopted the tactics of professional victimhood, to the point of now essentially casing themselves in the role of perpetual martyrs. A group that controls every branch of government and most cultural institutions has somehow managed to convince themselves, or at least their more credulous followers, that they are a poor abused minority. It's staggering to contemplate." -Ed Brayton, Dispatches from the Culture Wars

"Freedom is the other justification for the war in Iraq. The word 'freedom' appears 8 times in Bush"s speech, yet it is unclear what he meant by the word." - John Hickman, Associate Professor of Political Science, Berry College

June 6, 1944 D-Day

My father fought in both WWII and the Korean War in the Navy. Did you or your dad? If so, thank you, thank you! One can only imagine what the world would be like if Hitler had not been stopped.

Today is the 62nd anniversary of D-Day, according to the History Channel, "the largest amphibious assault in history was launched against the Normandy coast – its ultimate goal, the establishment of an allied foothold in Nazi-occupied France. Having crossed the narrow strip of sea from England to Normandy, France, allied troops broke Hitler's grip on Europe."

156,000 men were part of the D-Day landings, and at least 30,000 Allied airmen. There were 10,000 casualties on the first day... part of why we observe Memorial Day.

HOT OFF THE SHOW: Fellow Californians - Please Vote on Tuesday!

If you think your one vote doesn't matter, think again...

~In 1960 John F. Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon by 113,000 votes. That's about 1/2 vote per precinct!

~In 1990 Dan Lungren, former California Attorney General, defeated his opponent by one vote per precinct!

~In 1982 George Deukmejian, former California Governor won his election by less than one percent of the votes cast!

There are crucial Propositions on the ballot, specifically Prop 82 that I talked about on the show today and believe should not be made into law. See my article on why HERE.

Plus many significant races, such as for Lt. Governor.

Remember, if you don't vote, you really have no right to complain.

GOOD NEWS, AMERICA: From northern Iraq

The Washington Times reported this:

Retired Iraqi Gen. Georges Sada, a former fighter pilot-turned-Christian evangelist, says Kurds are converting to Christianity "by the hundreds" in northern Iraq.

Gen. Sada earlier reported that he had been told that Iraqi pilots, flying private planes, took weapons of mass destruction to undisclosed locations in Syria in 2002.

The "good news" from Iraq's turbulent religious scene, consisting mainly of Sunni and Shi'ite Muslim militias battling each other, is from the Kurds, he said. Kurds are creating a constitution that does away with Shariah, or Islamic law, a move counter to trends in other Muslim countries such as Afghanistan and Iran, where leaving Islam is a capital offense and Christian converts are often killed.

"No Christians in the Kurdish territory are persecuted," he said yesterday in an interview.
Gen. Sada, 66 lives in Baghdad, and is the author of "Saddam's Secrets" who I hope to interview on the show soon.
