HOT OFF THE SHOW! Cindy Sheehan Resigns

Our Encore Broadcast on Monday was with Shauna Fleming, the young high school student who began "A Million Thanks" three years ago, who has now collected and sent over 3 million thank you letters and emails from Americans to our troops, with the help of her classmates. It is an amazing story of what just one person can do when they put their dedication into action.

What a contrast to Cindy Sheehan, the media's icon of 'troop support', who, I am sure you have heard, is halting her public anti-war protests.

As MSNBC reports: Cindy Sheehan...says she’s done being the public face of the movement.

“I’ve been wondering why I’m killing myself and wondering why the Democrats caved in to George Bush...I’m going home for awhile to try and be normal.”

In what she described as a “resignation letter,” Sheehan wrote in her online diary on the “Daily Kos” blog: “Good-bye America ... you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can’t make you be that country unless you want it. It’s up to you now.”

MoveAmericaForward.org has a press release regarding Gold Star Family members who have lost a son or daughter in the war on terrorism. They made the following statement in response to Sheehan's announcement...

“We are very pleased to hear that Cindy Sheehan is ending her disgraceful campaign to discredit the United States military and the heroic men and women in harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan. We sympathize with the shared pain from losing a child in the war effort, however, we cannot excuse the fact that Cindy has taken the wrong turn at every corner in assigning blame for the loss of her heroic son, Casey.

“Casey Sheehan was a proud member of the United States Armed Forces. He believed in serving his country faithfully and volunteered for the duty assignment that led to his death at the hands of Islamic extremists. He should have been the example followed by Cindy Sheehan. Instead, she chose to associate with the most virulent anti-American elements in the United States and abroad.

“Throughout her public demonstrations, Cindy Sheehan has repeatedly been dismissive of the majority of Gold Star Parents who disagree with her stance on the war. Cindy Sheehan does not speak for us, nor thankfully does she speak for most Americans. It’s time for Cindy to go home and put her life back together and realize just how fortunate she is to live in the greatest nation on earth.

“We are saddened that Cindy’s withdrawal from political activities is because she was disappointed that more Americans did not accept her distorted worldview that America is the blame for all of the ills of the world. Perhaps off the world stage, she will be able to regain her bearings and see that her son and America were serving the cause of freedom in the world and security at home. God Bless the United States of America, and may God help Cindy Sheehan to heal from the pain and bitterness that have consumed her.”

Do you think it's safe to say that this won't be the end of the spotlight for Cindy Sheehan...maybe a book? A spot on Rosie O'Donnell's new show (whenever that happens)? Who knows what's waiting back stage for her.

Ways To Observe Memorial Day

From the Memorial Day Tribute site:

Memorial Day reminds us of our duties towards the wounded soldiers and the bereaved families, orphans and widows of our fallen soldiers. Every American should show their gratitude for their sacrifice - and here are a few ideas for you and your family to do just that:

-Adorn the graves of the soldiers with flags or flowers.
-Visiting cemeteries and memorials - pass out carnations to our fallen soldiers' family members
-Fly the American Flag at half-mast until noon on May 28th
-Keep silence for a minute at 3 p.m., the 'National Moment of Remembrance' & listen to Taps being played.
-Take a pledge to aid the disabled veterans, widows, widowers and orphans of of fallen soldiers -- and keep it.

Also, talk to your children about the meaning of Memorial Day - take them to a Memorial Day parade - explain the freedoms for which our soldiers fought and gave their lives for.

Don't let this Memorial Day go by without observing it with more than a BBQ - remember, it's not just a day off from work, it's the day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Highway Robbery - the Nafta Super Highway

Wednesday on the show we played talks by Dan & Margaret Byfield at a recent California Eagle Forum Conference I MC'd. the information they shared out of their personal experience living close to the new Trans-Texas Corridor which is part of the NAFTA Super Highway, as well as out of their experience as land rights experts, is shocking if you've not yet heard about what's going on.

Dan is the Producer of two television productions, "Who Owns the Land?" and "Standing Ground" which have been shown on national cable and PBS stations, and won awards. He is also the president of Liberty Matters, and his wife, Margaret, is Executive Director of Stewards of the Range. They share the unbelievable land rights abuses that are taking place with the NAFTA Super Highway.

I highly recommend you listen to the show online if you missed it on the air. Very few are talking about this yet, except Jim Corsi and Phyllis Schlafly....and our show.

Here are some links to check out as well.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Pork has no place in Funding the War

While the majority of media attention about the various Iraq-war spending bills is on the battle of a time-table for troop withdrawal between the Democrat-led Congress and President Bush, more attention needs to be given to the 'pork' that has been added to the Democrat-sponsored bills, 'pork' the White House calls, "excessive and extraneous non-emergency spending."

Pork such as:
-billions of dollars in domestic spending for items such as farm drought relief, medical coverage for poor children and Gulf Coast hurricane recovery
-projects -- which range from the reconstruction of New Orleans levees to the building of peanut storehouses in Georgia
-$25 million for spinach growers hurt by last year's E. coli scare
-$500 million for wildfire suppression in the West
-$120 million for shrimp and Atlantic menhaden fishermen
-$15 million to prevent salt water from intruding on rice fields in Louisiana

And there's more as the NY Times Caucus Blog lists:

-$3 million for funding for sugar cane Hawaiian co-op
-$24 million for funding for sugar beets
-$2 million to the University of Vermont Education Excellence Program
-$25 million for the Safe and Drug Free Schools program
-$48 million for disaster reconstruction for NASA
-$13 million for mine safety research
-$25 million for asbestos abatement and tunnel repair at the Capitol Power Plant
-$640 million for LIHEAP
-$13.2 million for avian flu research and monitoring
-$3.5 million related to guided tours of the U.S. Capitol
-$22.8 million for geothermal research and development
-$12 million for forest service money (requested by the president in the non-emergency FY2008 budget)
What's going on? The Democrats are buying votes! Plain and simple. Even trying to buy the President's vote with the last one listed!

Here's an example that the Washington Post points out: "For more than a year, Rep. Charles Boustany Jr. (R) has tried unsuccessfully to secure federal funds to prevent salt water from intruding on rice fields in his lowland Louisiana district. So it came as a surprise last week when Boustany found $15 million in the House's huge war spending bill for his rice farmers. He hadn't even asked that the bill include it."

Fortunately Boustany not buying it. He said, "It gives me no satisfaction to vote against measures that I have been working for since even before [Hurricane] Katrina, but I cannot in good conscience vote for a bill that does this to our troops," Boustany said yesterday, decrying what he called the "cheap politics" of using disaster aid to win votes on a measure this controversial."

Isn't it interesting that Nancy Pelosi said in response to the President's refusal to sign the bill, "It is clear that the difference between the Democrats and the president is the issue of accountability. He will not accept any accountability or responsibility for what is happening (in Iraq)."

Ooops.

Pelosi also told reporters that Congress intends to send Bush another bill for $90 billion which will fund the war through the end of September. But the new bill will still try to change course in Iraq according to the Speaker.

John Bolten, former Ambassador to the UN, said the Democrats made the deal impossible for the president because of insisting on a timetable for a troop withdrawal. "Whether waiveable or not, timelines send exactly the wrong signal to our adversaries, to our allies and, most importantly, to the troops in the field."

Again, the Washington Post reported, "Republicans say the Democrats' failure to pass a "clean'' funding bill without any conditions has hurt military operations around the world by requiring Pentagon planners to juggle money among accounts. Democrats say there is enough money to fund Iraq operations into July -- more than enough time for the deadlock to be resolved."

I say, forget the strong-arming troop withdrawal requirements, cut the pork, and fund our soldiers!

Congress can come up with other bills for the 'pork' items and even on a time-table for troop withdrawal, but let's stop the 'unaccountable' antics of loading a much needed funding bill, now.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! - Illegal Immigration - It's Amnesty

Did an Encore Broadcast on today's show: Amexica, where we played audio clips of legislators and professors in America, exposeing the mentalities behind the promises and efforts to secure amnesty, open borders and entitlements for illegal immigrants. This shocking behind the scenes evidence exposes those who are working to erase our borders, and who want to "take back Atzlan". I highly recommend you give the show a listen online if you missed it on the air (see link below) if you want to hear it straight from the horses mouth. Unbelievable.

Here is what some are saying about the current amnesty bill in Congress, which has decided to not debate until after Memorial Day now, but debate they will and pass it unless enough of us make our voices heard.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! The Queen, Blair, Brown & the U.S. - What's Ahead?

The Queen

Did you see the movie, "The Queen"? - I recommend that you do, especially in light of Queen Elizabeth's recent visit to the U.S. and Tony Blair's announcement of his resignation.

Some interesting information from my notes for yesterday's LIVE! show about the effects of Blair's resignation and France's new pro-America President will have on the U.S.:

Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926 in London. She was not in line to the throne until her uncle, Edward VIII, abdicated in 1936. Her father then became George VI and she became heir after her father died in 1952, while Princess Elizabeth was in Kenya. She came home immediately, was crowned at Westminster Abbey, and for more than 50 years has carried out her duties as head of state. She is now 80 years old.

What's interesting is that the Queen is not only the head of State, but also a symbol of national unity. Her complete official royal title is: 'Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith', but she is usually referred to as Her Royal Highness or Queen Elizabeth. According to the law the Queen is head of the executive branch of the government, an integral part of the legislature, head of the judiciary, the commander-in-chief of all the armed forces of the Crown and the 'supreme governor' of the established Church of England. WHEW!

British System of Government

The Parliament, Britain's legislature, is made up of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the Queen.

The Commons has 651 elected Members and the House of Lords is made up of 1,185 hereditary and life 'peers and peeresses', two archbishops and the 24 most senior bishops of the established Church of England.

As you know, Tony Blair, strongest ally of Pres. Bush, has resigned and will step down by the end of June handing over the prime ministership to what looks like Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown. After ten years in power, three victories at general elections in 1997, 2001 and 2005, most agreed that Blair achieved the most in the economy. (The lowest-income British families now receive 11% more benefits).

The British media nicknamed Blair Pres. Bush's 'poodle' because he supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq. That swept Britain into a rash of anti-war marches; the Labour Party rating took a nose dive; and thus the pressure for Blair to step down.

ONE CORE ISSUE OF NOTE ABOUT BLAIR:

In "post-Christian Britain" Blair upfront about his Christianity. Known as a "muscular Christian" (someone who believes that his faith requires him to act), he is in the minority of British prime ministers in the past century who have been Christian believers. Winston Churchill, for instance, was an agnostic. Those who were devout felt that religion should remain a private matter. Blair was under strict instructions not to speak in public about his faith. Alastair Campbell once put it: "We don't do God". But Blair did "do God."

The Independent reported: "In some ways (Blair) is more innately American than British. Blair may not have prayed with the born-again George Bush, but their shared faith was certainly a bond, and (Blair's) wearing his faith on his sleeve would not have seemed too odd or embarrassing in the U.S., where more than half the population goes to church and where supposedly grown-up politicians can say they approach difficult problems by asking: 'What would Jesus do'?"

Only seven per cent of the population of Britain regularly attend church.

Who is Gordon Brown?

The one most likely to replace Tony Blair, Gordon Brown is the son of a Church of Scotland preacher; lost the sight in one eye while playing rugby at age 16; and was Rector of Edinburgh University.

When Blair supported the US invasion of Iraq, Brown gave his approval as well. But according to Reuters, Brown said that he would "learn from mistakes" made in Iraq. And on the issue of troop withdrawal, he said: "I don't think at this stage you pre-set a date. From a situation where we had 44,000 troops in Iraq, it is now down to 7,000 and it will go down to 6,000 and it is coming down."

Of note: he plans to relinquish the prime minister's right to take the nation to war under an ancient royal decree and allow parliament to decide rather.

And: he is also mulling over the introduction of a constitution and bill of rights, similar to those of the US.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! - Better Check your Safety Deposit Box - No Joking!

We aired a speech that California Senator Tom McClintock recently gave at a California Eagle Forum conference on government 'takings' / the latest abuses of eminent domain & the 5th Amendment f the Bill of Rights which provides that private property shall not be taken without just compensation.

Better check your Safety Deposit Box and Stocks! No joking.

The Senator told of one couple who was getting ready for the retirement, only to find out that their stocks worth $1 million had been confiscated by the government, sold for $105,000, which was all they had a 'right' to once they tracked it all down.
Unbelievable!

One of the things most are unaware of that he alerted us to is that the government can take now take the contents of your safety deposit box if it's been THREE YEARS since you've 'claimed' it.

I highly recommend that you listen to today's show online (see link below) to get all the information about this. The abuses of private property are getting out of hand for home owners and small businesses.

Trust me, what the Senator has to say is crucial information for you and your family.

Jerry Falwell - Preacher and Patriot

As you know by now, the Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, at the age of 73.

Ron Godwin, executive vice president of Liberty University, said Falwell was found unresponsive about 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. His physician, Dr. Carl Moore, said the evangelist had a heart rhythm abnormality; was found without a pulse and never regained consciousness.

The Rev. had made preparations for a transition of his leadership to his two sons, Jerry Falwell, Jr., vice-chancellor of Liberty University, and Jonathan Falwell, pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

Background history:

In 1956, Jerry Falwell, a 22-year-old minister started Thomas Road Baptist Church with just 35 members. Today, the church has more than 24,000 members. Shortly after starting the church, Falwell began broadcasting the "Old Time Gospel Hour" radio and television shows. Then he founded Liberty University in 1971, and the Moral Majority to engage the religious right in the political process, which was credited with getting millions of voters registered and electing Ronald Reagan. (I remember this, and together with Dr. D. James Kennedy, Jerry Falwell was instrumental in raising my awareness to the importance of the responsibilities of American citizens).

His final column before he died:

Entitled, “Boldly Live Your Faith!” Falwell talked about the true story of Megan Chapman, who last year was told not to mention her faith in her valedictorian speech at her high school’s commencement ceremony.

More than 3,000 people packed her school's gymnasium, members of the press were in attendance, and as the principal of the school was making his opening remarks, the senior class stood together and recited "The Lord's Prayer." When Megan walked to the platform, prepared to read the poem, "The Road Less Traveled" only, she said when she looked out over the audience, she put away the poem and began speaking from her heart about how God is real in her life and the peace she has had since giving her heart to Jesus Christ, and wished that same for her classmates. Reporters said that her speech was interrupted with cheers several times.

Falwell ended his column telling high school students to “Boldly live their faith!” Something he did throughout his life as a minister.

Liberals not happy with new Pro-America and Israel French President

New French President, "Dubya" Nicolas Sarkozy

Liberals and socialists around the world, including in the U.S. don't know what to do now that France has a new conservative America-and-Israel-loving President.

The newly elected French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, is a conservative who defeated his Socialist Party rival, Ségolène Royal, by 53 percent to 47 percent. He is for Israel, pro-America and for lower taxes and tougher measures against criminals and terrorists.

New York papers label Sarkozy the French (cowboy) Dubya, and as Warner Todd Houston at Newsbusters recounts: "The New York Times didn't even wait for the French election results to become general knowledge before they began their sniping of the new "Conservative" French president...Let's review some of the harsh words, slights and names the Gray Lady hurls at the new president-elect:
  • Arrogant, brutal, an authoritarian demagogue...
  • ...one of the most polarizing figures to move into Élysée Palace in the postwar era...
  • He has always been nakedly ambitious, pragmatic and calculating and not beyond betrayal to reach his goals.
  • Mr. Sarkozy is a tad shorter than Napoleon was. His profile is remarkably similar to that of Louis XIV.
  • Mr. Sarkozy’s brash manner and strong oratory style...
  • Many people regarded the anticrime campaign as a calculated effort to win support from France’s far right in anticipation of his presidential bid.
  • Mr. Sarkozy’s personal life has been less successful than his public one..."
His opponent branded Sarkozy as the new “poodle” of President George W. Bush, and labeled him a danger, “The choice of Nicolas Sarkozy is a dangerous choice,” and that she had to “sound the alarm” about “the violence and brutality that will be spawned in the country. Everyone knows it, but no one says it. It is a kind of taboo”...

And the Times of India reports...
"Riot squads fired tear gas Sunday at protesters throwing stones, bottles and, in one instance, acid at police in cities across France after right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy's presidential victory.

In Paris, clashes erupted at the Place de la Bastille, where about 5,000 supporters of the defeated Socialist candidate Segolene Royal had gone to await the election results and stayed on after Sarkozy's triumph.

Up to 300 rioters, some wearing scarves around their faces, used bottles and stones in running attacks on police, who responded with baton charges, tear gas and water cannon. "
But Israel is pleased with the new French president.

"Nicolas Sarkozy is "a friend of Israel," and his victory in France's presidential election on Sunday heralds a more balanced French approach to the Middle East conflict, said Israeli leaders."

Benyamin Netanyahu said he counts Sarkozy among his personal friends, and that the French president-elect "wants to help Israel achieve true peace, and he understands our security needs well."

And how could America's President not be happy with this replacement of socialist, work-against America Chirac? Bush congratulated Sarkozy, who promised in his victory speech that the US could “count on our friendship”.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! - May Day Illegal Aliens

May lst - May Day - illegal aliens protested throughout the streets of America, demanding equal rights for every immigrant, including illegals, in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Dallas, as well as other cities, chanting...

"We are indigenous! The ONLY owners of this continent!" "No human is illegal!"

While that's true that 'no human is illegal' - you can be an illegal immigrant, not only here in America, but in other countries, which have the right to establish laws governing their borders and immigration policies.

But illegal immigrants in the U.S. wanting every law and proposed law to go from: "anti-immigrant legislation" and "the criminalization of the immigrant communities" to "militarization of the border," "immigrant detention and deportation," and "guest worker programs and employer sanctions."

They want an easy "path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants," "speedy family reunification," access to all "civil rights" and "labor rights" as well as education, and special rights for "LGBT immigrants."

While San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome declared the City by the Bay as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants last week, protesters marched on Sacramento, California this week against HR1645 demanding full immigrant rights for all. And banks are on the same side. Here's the mentality of Wells Fargo Bank for instance...
"We're not required to ask the immigration status of any of our customers. That is the responsibility of the federal government," - Wells Fargo bank representative Jerry Ruiz
May Day, no longer thought of as a day of little girls dancing around a May Pole with flowers, it is synonymous now with various socialist and labor movement 'celebrations' around the world... International Workers' Day has become May Day, with communists and anarchists joining those filling the streets of America in protest.

And pictures really are worth a thousand words...what do you think?
