Fly Gay at Christmas and Get a Discount

See here

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have a new program that offers a 10% discount to Christmas travelers, but up until recently, it was offered only if you purchase tickets through their "gay" page on the company's website.

They have changed their website, removing "Gay Travel" but note the code in the webpage url, it remains the same: http://www.alaskaair.com/as/alaska/gaytravel/LGBT-NYC-Sale

WorldNetDaily.com reported that, "Word of the discount came through an airline employee, who needed to remain anonymous because of concerns over retaliation. The employee reported the company had sent e-mails out announcing the "very soft launch" of the new promotion.

The company earlier had an offer to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, under its "gay" discount, and currently is offering discounted "holiday" travel. All they have to do, according to Alaska, is enter a special discount code "when you purchase your tickets at [the "gay" web page].

The airline's special page has also promoted flights to events such as the "5th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival," and the "8th International Conference of Gay and Lesbian Tourism."

Just writing it like it is.

Christmas Dinner Hurts Mother Earth?

The "Greens" are at it again...the environmental Scrooges.

The BBC reports that A carbon footprint equivalent to 6,000 car journeys around the world, or 51,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, will be produced by Christmas dinner in the UK alone.

Cranberry sauce alone, which is normally imported to Britain from North America, contributes half the carbon footprint related to transport, as calculated by those doing the study on the production, processing and transportation costs of the festive ingredients, for one third of the UK population they estimate eats a typical Christmas dinner.

Professor Adisa Azapagic, from the University of Manchester, said: "Food production and processing are responsible for three quarters of the total carbon footprint, with the largest proportion - 60% - being related to the life cycle of the turkey. All stages in the supply chain have been considered, including raising the turkey, growing the vegetables, food storage, consumer shopping, cooking the meal at home and waste management. This includes the emissions of carbon dioxide due to energy consumption along the turkey supply chain and the emissions of methane and nitrous oxide generated due to the agricultural activities to raise the turkey."

The "Greens" are also the ones who don't want sweethearts to give roses on Valentine's Day.

You know what's really sad about this? These folks get paid, get grants. Get big bucks! to do this kind of research.

Gunman Shoots Six at Ted Haggard's former Church

Channel 7 News in Denver, Colorado reports:

"Authorities said a church member was shot to death and four others were injured after a gunman opened fire outside the New Life Church in Colorado Springs as Sunday services were wrapping up.

The gunman was shot by a church security officer and was found dead when police arrived on the scene, said Colorado Springs Police Chief Richard Myers.

Police did not release the name of the officer but said he "probably saved many lives today."

The gunman shot five other people in the parking lot of the church, Myers said. One of them was found dead when police arrived.

Four others were rushed to area hospitals and were said to have life-threatening injuries.

The church went into lockdown and every church in Colorado Springs went into high alert.

Witnesses said the shooter was dressed in black and was carrying a high-powered rifle.

Gunman Kills Two, Wounds Two Other YWAM Staff Members

Channel 7 News in Denver, Colorado reports:

"A gunman walked into a training center dormitory for young Christian missionaries in Arvada early Sunday and opened fire, killing two staff members and wounding two other staff members.

The gunman, described as a 20-year-old white male, remains at large.

Tiffany Johnson, 26, and Philip Crouse, 24, were killed. Johnson was from Minnesota and Crouse was from Alaska. Charles Blanch and Dan Griebenow were both injured and taken to the hospital.

Griebenow, 24, was shot in the neck -- barely missing his spinal cord -- and was in critical but stable condition, his friends said. Blanch was shot in the leg and was doing OK, said Paul Filidis, the director of communications.

Blanch, 22, is from Minnesota and joined the staff in the fall of 2006.

All four of the victims were staff members with the Youth With a Mission center."
