HOT OFF THE SHOW! Black Leadership - Challenge Gore

The National Center for Public Policy Research sent out a PR a few weeks ago calling for what Sen. Inhoffe, Minority Leader of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, did when he challenged the former Vice President recently to practice what he preaches regarding energy use. I spoke with author, Dennis Avery, about the global warming claims of Al Gore and the baseless fears surrounding them on today's show.

Because the black leadership of Project 21 make a very good point, here's part of the PR:

"Members of the black leadership network Project 21 urge elected representatives to use Al Gore's appearances today before the House Energy and Commerce Committee and Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to ask the former Vice President about his own lavish energy consumption -- and his advocacy of a society in which only the wealthy could enjoy amenities most Americans currently take for granted, like home heating.

Gore's proposals would result in a society in which the rich get warmer and the poor get colder.

While Gore is a long-time proponent of personal energy conservation and draconian regulations to mandate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research revealed that Gore's mansion in the exclusive Belle Meade neighborhood of Nashville uses more than 20 times the national household average of electricity.

In response, Gore's office said the Gores "do the carbon emissions offset" -- such as making environment-related investments -- that allegedly neutralize the environmental harm related to their extraordinarily-high energy use.

Gore receives his offsets as a benefit from a company that he co-founded -- Generation Investment Management -- and reportedly does not pay for them himself. Interestingly, Carbon Neutral Company, which provides Generation Investment Management with its offsets, says its offsets "will be unable to reduce greenhouse gas emissions... in the short term."

Pray for Virginia Tech Families

Our hearts go out to the families of those killed at Virginia Tech today, and we remember them in prayer.

The deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history took the lives of 33, who were slain before the gunman killed himself.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Middle East's War History - Incredible Map Video

Sent to me by my friend, Jeanne Goodin, Director of So. California Eagle Forum, below is a link to an excellent 90-second review of the last 5000 years of war and conquest in the Middle East.

It is amazing to watch as conquering forces overtake and dominate huge regions. It's a fascinating and quick summation of this history, offering a 'visual verbal' of why peace in the Middle East is next to impossible to achieve in the current climate, much like it has been impossible for thousands of years.

As Jeanne wrote, "Not to say that it will never happen, or that Democracy will never flourish there, but this does give you a different perspective."

See Maps of War in the Middle East here: http://www.mapsofwar.com/images/EMPIRE17.swf.

As the website has posted: "Who has controlled the Middle East over the course of history? Pretty much everyone. Egyptians, Turks, Jews, Romans, Arabs, Persians, Europeans...the list goes on. Who will control the Middle East today? That is a much bigger question."

Cornell University covers the modern day history of the Middle East here.

Many leftists describe America as imperialistic. But as USA Today points out, the greatest danger we face in trying to rebuild Iraq is not..."Shiite fundamentalism? Kurdish separatism? Sunni intransigence? Turkish, Syrian, Iranian or Saudi Arabian meddling. All of those are real problems, but none is so severe that it can't readily be handled. More than 125,000 American troops occupy Mesopotamia. They are backed up by the resources of the world's richest economy. In a contest for control of Iraq, America can outspend and outmuscle any competing faction. The greatest danger is that we won't use all of our power for fear of the "I" word — imperialism."

More than ever we need to understand imperialism; and recognize it for what it is...conquest.

It's not America that is trying to take over the world, no matter what others may say.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! School Stages "Christian Terrorists"

My 'Swirled Views' item of the week off today's LIVE show...

Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media wrote last week about Allan J. Block, owner of Block Communications, who is paying the oil-rich Arab monarchy of Qatar for the right to air Al-Jazeera English, the pro-radical Islam news agency, on his Buckeye Cable System that covers the Toledo, Ohio area. Not everyone in the viewing area is pleased. Block tells AIM that he wants to reach Toledo-area Arabs and Muslims, most of whom don’t speak Arabic, with Al-Jazeera English.

But Toledo has already been the location of one alleged terrorist plot directed against U.S. military forces. The Toledo Blade, called it a “Toledo-based plot to kill or injure U.S. troops overseas.” Associated Press reports that prosecutors claim that some of the conspirators met at a Muslim convention in Cleveland.

Then you have the press, the Guardian in particular saying he US can learn from the example set by Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in graciously releasing the 15 British sailors held hostage last week –Saying it is the direct result of Iran's goodwill This outcome offers a compelling lesson on how to deal with the wider international standoff between the US and Iran. His mood was generous. His "gift to the British people" was with immediate effect, and "he asked for no apology or other concessions."

This is the man who has called for Israel to be wiped off the map and for the downfall of America!

But if this pro-radical Islam And if these views aren’t swirled enough for you…how about this...

A public school in NJ had a mock terrorist drill depicting "Christian Fundamentalists" as terrorists! The plot included terrorists breaking into the high school, taking hostages, and shooting people. The American Center for Law and Justice is gathering a petition to object to this as deliberate bigotry. You can go to www.aclj.org to read up on it.

The superintendant is qouted as saying that the goal was to make the drill "as realistic as possible." If so, then why didn't he use extremist Muslims who are terrorizing and murdering people daily? I’m telling you...Swirled Views like this are absolutely maddening…especially when they are taught in our schools. Are you watching your child’s classroom? You better.

Are you reading between the lines of what's being reported by the media? It's pretty sad when reading the paper or watching the news creates added stress to our lives. Not because of the news, but because we can't trust if what is reported is accurate.

Indoctrination U

Is there anyone reading this that doesn't believe our college campuses today are fraught with censorship, political correctness, speech codes, political conformity, intolerance, and hostility to any worldview other than 'progressive'?

There's a new documentary film, Indoctrinate U, by award-winning filmmaker Evan Coyne Maloney, which reveals what the 'thought & speech' atmosphere is on campuses today.

As Junkscience.com puts it: "Hard-hitting and humorous, the film tells the story of how, in the name of education, schools from coast to coast ruthlessly compel conformity of thought. Focusing on the experiences of students and faculty who risk harassment, censorship, and even their futures when they dissent, Indoctrinate U makes the campus culture wars--often treated as an abstract battle of ideas--intensely personal and unforgettably human."

"We usually associate such things with the repressive regimes of North Korea, China, Cuba, and the former Soviet Union. But instead, this assault on free thought is taking place all over America--right now--on our nation's campuses."

You can view the trailer at www.IndoctrinateU.com and click here for preview and screening sign-up...

David Horowitz's Students for Academic Freedom who writes, "At universities like Duke, American students are being taught to despise their own country, and are barraged with paranoid delusions about America as an oppressive empire and a society pervaded by 'institutional racism.'"

Leftist professors teach everything from Marxism to 9/11 conspiracy theories. Herb Denenberg writing for SAF says, "Horowitz documents the nature of the textbooks used at these universities. For example, one widely used textbook, Peace and Conflict Studies, justifies 'communist policies and actions and puts those of America and Western democracies in a negative light.' Horowitz also quotes passages from the text that justify and defend terrorists, including those responsible for the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. He shows that Ward Churchill of the University of Colorado was more of the rule than the exception.

Read the rest of the article here.

Horowitz's Discover the Networks.org lists the "Most Dangerous Academics in America". Do you know who they are. Do you know any of them on the list? You should. We all should, and in the name of truth, educate those we know and can influence who are in college and those who are college bound at every opportunity we can.

Their lives and our very nation's survival as we know it are at stake.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Al Gore Going for the Nobel Peace Prize

Last Thursday Al Gore was in Oslo giving his 'inconvenient truth' global warming speech to a crowd that included the chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize committee.
Critics are saying he was there to lobby the committee because he has been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize

Norwegian members of parliament Børge Brende and Heidi Sørensen, who joined in their nomination despite political differences, (Heidi Sørensen is a member of the Socialist Left Party), jointly say that global climate is a fight for peace. Their nomination suggests that Gore share the prize with Inuit Sheila Watt-Cloutier of Canada.

"This is clearly, absolutely, one of the important efforts to achieve conflict prevention. Climate change can lead to enormous flows of refugees on a scale the world has never seen before. Fighting climate change is immensely important work for global peace," said Heidi Sørensen.

How did the media report on this news?

The Right: Rush Limbaugh said on his show on Friday that the former vice president was there lobbying the committee; that he shouldn't do this but rather have dignity about such things.

The Left: ABC news reported: "...there seems little chance of a link between his visits and any dreams of winning the peace prize, since the trips were planned well ahead of his Nobel nomination being announced."

Nominations for this year's peace prize, which is awarded by the five-member Nobel Committee in Oslo, had to be submitted by Feb. 1st.

The winner is announced in mid-October, with the prize presented on the Dec. 10 anniversary of the death of its creator, Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel.

The winner also gets a 10-million-krona ($1.4 million) prize.

Q: Whether Gore is lobbying the Nobel committee for their prize or not, do you think he should get it?

Q: Even more: Do you think Global Warming is a PEACE (prize) issue?

Q: Is this just another effort by the left around the world to advance their GW theories and fear tactics?

Q: Global Warming and Peace -- let me see…can I connect the dots on this one?
Nope.

This is just another Swirled View that we have to discern from the truth.
