HOT OFF THE SHOW!

My Radio Interview today was with Thomas Glessner, Attorney, founder and President of the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, a public interest law firm that assists Crises Pregnancy centers, and author of Destiny's Team.

Margaret Sanger once said, "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."

A new eugenics movement being driven by changes in science and philosophy argues that human life needs to be redefined. Thomas Glessner discussed the current law & politics involving life ethics with us to wrap up January is Pro-Life month.

As well as about his new book, Destiny's Team, about an NFL player who had to grapple with real life issues.

Very good interview!

Barack Obama's Very Controverisal Pastor & Spiritual Advisor

Barack Obama’s friend, pastor and spiritual adviser, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, said in a 2003 church publication, "In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared,' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns."

But Barack Obama says he is "proud" of Wright and values their 20-year friendship, even if they “don’t agree on everything.”

Wright married Obama and baptized his daughters, and in his 1993 memoir "Dreams from My Father," Barack tells of his first meeting with Wright. He also based his 2004 keynote speech to the Democratic National Convention on a sermon by Wright called "Audacity to Hope," which also inspired second memoir, "The Audacity of Hope."

In the November-December 2007 issue of Trumpet, their church’s publication, Wright praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has described whites as "blue-eyed devils" and Jews as "bloodsuckers." Wright wrote, "He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest….and will be remembered as one of the 20th and 21st century giants of the African-American religious experience. His integrity and honesty have secured him a place in history as one of the nation's most powerful critics…and a religious leader who is sincere about his faith and his purpose."

Farrakhan's photo is on the cover of the church magazine, is accompanied by the headline: "The Minister truly epitomized greatness." Wright presented Farrakhan with a "lifetime achievement" award during a church gala held in Chicago. "For his commitment to truth, education and leadership." (See Wright's video honoring Farrakhan)

But what about this side of Farrakhan who said:

In 1984 Farrakhan, "Hitler was a very great man. He wasn't great for me as a Black man but he was a great German and he rose Germany up from the ashes of her defeat by the united force of all of Europe and America after the first World War." A decade later, Farrakhan reiterated the claim that Hitler was a "great man".

And, "Now, that nation of Israel, never has had any peace in forty years and she will never have any peace because there can never be any peace structured on injustice, thievery, lying and deceit and using the name of God to shield your dirty religion under His holy and righteous name."

And, "Do you know some of these satanic Jews have taken over BET?... Everything that we built, they have. The mind of Satan now is running the record industry, movie industry and television. And they make us look like we’re the murders; we look like we’re the gangsters, but we’re punk stuff.”

And, "This Koran says that the Jews have altered the word of God out of its place. They did not want the masters of the people to know what Jesus really said, what Moses really said, because then you wouldn't have a yardstick to measure their deviations."

Last week, Barack Obama distanced himself from Farrakhan, but not from Wright or his praise for Farrakhan. Why not?

Obama also took back his invitation for his pastor to pray at the launch of his campaign, and many are wondering if he wins the presidency, will he ask Wright to pray at his inauguration?

Do you think Hillary will use this information against Barack? If she thinks she needs to and it will help her win. Clearly, these views are dangerous to be affiliated with if you’re a candidate…running for the President of the United States...the President of all the people of the United States.

"We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community."

HOT OFF THE SHOW! Yusuf Bey's "Your Black Muslim Bakery"

The late owner of Your Black Muslim Bakery, Yusuf Bey, wielded real power with local politicians and police in Oakland, California, some even funded his empire.

The recent death of Chauncy Bailey, the reporter who was doing investigative work on the Bakery has sparked a series of articles in the SF Chronicle.

When Nation of Islam leader, Elijah Muhammad died in 1975, members in California continued under one of their alternative names - the Black Muslims, led by Yusuf Bey.

Do They Teach About This in School?

Say it again...

Whether the subject is civil rights, sex ed, or the Middle East, how many schools teach the following today? Very few, sad to say.

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. joined me on the show last week on the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade to talk about how her uncle's dream is now her's. She was in the San Francisco Bay Area marching for life and we caught up with her in-between marches.

She's the Founder of the King for America, Inc., continuing the legacy of civil rights advocacy, including for the unborn. Both Martin Luther King and her father, Rev. A. D. King were slain civil rights leaders.

Of particular concern is the disproportionate number of abortions in the Black communities of America. (See blackgenocide.org) which is in keeping with the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger's racist agenda:

“Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated.” –Margaret Sanger, founder, Planned Parenthood

Another outrageous quote is from David Duke:

"Our clear goal must be the advancement of the white race and separation of the white and black races. This goal must include freeing of the American media and government from subservient Jewish interests."

Did you know that Israel is the only country, outside of the Unites States that marks Martin Luther King Day annually, with a special session in parliament. Israel embraces the legacy of Dr. King because it exemplifies hope and peaceful co-existence between people of diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King, were friends to Israel and the Jewish people, and active in the battle against anti-Semitism.

Can anyone show me documentation where these important points in history are in currently used U.S. textbooks? If anyone can, I'll take back this article.

Petraeus Says Troop Reduction On Track

John J. Kruzel at American Forces Press Service reports:

Plans to withdraw four Army brigade combat teams and two Marine battalions by July are “on track” as the military seeks to draw down the number of troops in Iraq as quickly as ground conditions allow.

Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of Multinational Force Iraq, appeared on CNN’s Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer, and said this will reduce the number by one quarter, or 42,500 troops. In regards to reductions after that the General said, “The guidance that (Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates) in fact has given me -- and the president and my chain of command, what all of them have said -- is that reductions after July should be conditions-based.”

In regards to Iraqi security forces’ capability, Petraeus said the roughly 550,000-strong force is assuming an increasingly larger role in maintaining the country’s security. The overall forces -- composed of some 343,000 police members, 208,000 defense ministry soldiers and 4,000 special operations forces -- suffer nearly three times the number of U.S military casualties, which Petraeus said indicated the Iraqis’ devotion to stability in their country.

Officials have stated that reductions of U.S. forces in Iraq depend largely on an Iraqi security force that is capable of tamping down violence in the country. Petraeus today noted that half of Iraq’s 18 provinces currently are under provincial control, but pointed out that Iraq’s security institutions face challenges in breeding military leaders and in equipping and maintaining the current forces.

“(Leadership) is the area that is probably the most difficult, because you just can't find captains, colonels, and generals out there in the numbers that they need by just going back to those who are willing to serve from the old army -- not all of whom, perhaps, have the qualities that one would want in the leadership of the new Iraq army anyway,” Petraeus said. (read the full story at DefenseLink.mil)

Not everyone at the Pentagon is happy with this plan, as well as Senate leaders. And how could we forget the "General Betray Us" ad?

But the General says the plan has solid military backing.

HOT OFF THE SHOW! War on Terror Nonsense

Erick Stakelbeck, Terrorism Analyst for CBN and frequent guest on FOX News, and contributor to Michelle Malkin's HOTAIR Vlog, joined me on the show today to talk about Iran's Pres. Ahmadinejad's visit to Baghdad, Iraq's PM Maliki's visit to Iran, Britain's new "Anti-Islamic" language, and President Bush's call for a Palestinian State and an end to Israel's '1967 occupation.' Great show! (You can catch it online following the link below.)

Ahmadinejad has accepted an invitation to visit Baghdad, that would make him the first leader of Iran to visit Iraq since their eight-year war in the 1980s with each other, in which hundreds of thousands were killed. As Erick pointed out, Ahmadinejad has accepted the invitation at a time of heightened tension between Iran.

Wonder how our U.S. troops feel about this impending visit of the radical leader that wants to see the destruction of America? And whose country has been involved in acts of terror that have already killed U.S. troops.

Erick also told us about British Officials which have adopted a new 'language' when talking about terrorists - Terrorists are acting "Anti-Islamic" and fanatics will be referred to as pursuing "anti-Islamic activity". huh?

They're saying terrorists are not carrying out jihad out of Islam's teachings. This is contrary to what the Quaran and Hadith teach, as the terrorists will tell you. As Osama bin Laden has already told us in his many videos, etc.

Political correctness in action again! Or is it fear?

What do you think?

Scientists Threatened with Death Over Global Warming

According to Tom Harper at Telegraph.co.uk: Scientists who question man's impact on global warming/climate change have received death threats.

"They say the debate on global warming has been "hijacked" by a powerful alliance of politicians, scientists and environmentalists who have stifled all questioning about the true environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions.

"Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, has received five deaths threats by email since raising concerns about the degree to which man was affecting climate change.

"One of the emails warned that, if he continued to speak out, he would not live to see further global warming."

Professor Ball and others appeared on television in "The Great Global Warming Swindle" documentary in which several scientists said the theory of man being responsible for global warming has become a 'religion' which ignores other viable explanations for climate change.

Richard Lindzen, professor of Atmospheric Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who also appeared in the documentary, said, "Scientists who dissent from the alarmism have seen their funds disappear, their work derided, and themselves labelled as industry stooges. Consequently, lies about climate change gain credence even when they fly in the face of the science."

Other scientists agree with Ball and Lindzen, such as Dr Myles Allen, from Oxford University, said: "The Green movement has hijacked the issue of climate change. It is ludicrous to suggest the only way to deal with the problem is to start micro managing everyone, which is what environmentalists seem to want to do."

In response to receiving the death threats, Professor Timothy Ball said, "I can tolerate being called a sceptic because all scientists should be sceptics, but then they started calling us deniers, with all the connotations of the Holocaust. That is an obscenity. It has got really nasty and personal." (read the full story here).

Climate skeptics are nothing new. And they claimed back in 2002 that it is "a media myth" to suppose that only a few scientists share their scepticism.

Senator James Inhofe, U.S. Senate Minority Leader of the Environment & Public Works Committee released "The Skeptic's Guide to Debunking Global Warming Alarmism - Hot & Cold Media Spin Cycle: A Challenge To Journalists who Cover Global Warming.”

The ‘Skeptic’s Guide’, which has received recognition by the LA Times and Congressional Quarterly, is now available free on the Senate Environmental & Public Works Web site.
The book features web links to all supporting documentation, and serves as a handbook to identify the major players in media bias when it comes to poor climate science reporting.

According to the Senator's website: "The guide presents a reporter’s virtual who’s-who’s of embarrassing and one-sided media coverage, with a focus on such reporters as CBS News “60 Minutes” Scott Pelley, ABC News reporter Bill Blakemore, CNN’s Miles O’Brien, and former NBC Newsman Tom Brokaw. Senator Inhofe’s “Skeptic’s Guide” also includes hard hitting critiques of the New York Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek, Associated Press, Reuters, the LA Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Washington Post." (read more here).

No matter which side any scientist is on in regards to the issue of global warming, the news of death threats to those who do not agree that man is responsible for climate change is shocking to say the least.

And raises the question: what else is at stake that would cause death threats to be given?

What do you think?

Buy a Net to Save a Child

You've seen the ads on television encouraging viewers to donate $10 to buy a net to save a child in Africa...via the UN.

If it makes you nervous to donate through the UN given their record of mismanagement of funds, Operation Blessing is a good alternative to donate through.

Every 30 seconds a child under 5 years old dies from malaria, which claims over a million lives a year.

Malaria is preventable! A $10 bed net is a simple solution that can save lives. Since mosquitoes are most active during twilight and nighttime hours, the insecticide-treated nets act as a safe and natural barrier to help protect families as they sleep and keep mosquitoes away from those most vulnerable – children.

Iraqi Vets Running for Congress

"We must all hang together or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Benjamin Franklin

Our Troops and Vets never cease to amaze me! And the following is yet another example of their selfless service to our country:
Twelve U.S. military veterans have joined together to run for Congress in 2008 on a platform of Victory in Iraq and in the War on Terror. On their website Iraqivetsforcongress.com they state:

Whether Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine, we all shared a common goal in Iraq: victory. As Republican candidates for Congress we share a vision for America’s future, her security, and that of future generations. We are unified in our commitment to relieve the Democrats of their command of Congress.

Voters want to restore leadership and honor back to Washington. Who better to accomplish that mission than our generation of warriors?

All veterans whose service to the United States brought them first to Iraq and now to a run for the House as pro-victory Republicans, are welcome to become part of Iraq Veterans For Congress.

United we are capable of sending to Congress a squad-size element of Iraq vets to keep us on offense in the War on Terror and counter calls for defeat.

In short, unification of all Republican Iraq Veterans will be a powerful force multiplier. By joining forces we will generate crucial nationwide grassroots support while sharing ideas and strategies.

Following are the names and districts the twelve candidates are running in:

Kieran Michael Lalor
United States Marine Corps Veteran
NY’s 19th District

Lee Zeldin
United States Army Veteran

Oprah's Endorsement of Obama Backfires

Some fans of Oprah think she's a traitor for backing Barack Obama for President instead of Hillary Clinton.

The Times online reported: "Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December. Her intervention was widely credited with broadening Obama’s national appeal - especially among women - and with helping him to an upset victory over Clinton in the first vote of the election year in Iowa.

"Yet a backlash by Clinton supporters appears to have prompted a rethink by Winfrey, the African-American media titan who is routinely described as the most influential woman on television. She did not reappear in the final days before the New Hampshire primary - which Obama lost to Clinton - and has been absent from the most recent campaigning in South Carolina, which votes next weekend."

While some discuss whether their view of Oprah has changed or not since she endorsed Obama, several of those critical of the endorsement identified themselves as African-Americans, which indicates that gender is apparently more important than race in the race for the White House.

And The Dallas Morning News reports: "The Oprah Winfrey endorsement might have generated a lot of press for Barack Obama, but not a lot of impress, particularly among younger women, a poll released Wednesday shows.
"A Lifetime/Zogby poll of women shows that of those 18 to 29, almost a third said they were less likely to support the Illinois senator because of the Oprah support. Older women, over 65, also showed they were ruffled by Ms. Winfrey stepping 'out of her pew,' as the daytime diva herself described it. About 17 percent of older women said the endorsement made them less likely to support Mr. Obama."

So, why did Oprah endorse Obama, do you think? And is her endorsement really helping him?

Schwarzenegger's Budget Cuts - Angers Republicans

Senator Tom McClintock was on our Tuesday Live show to talk about California Gov. Schwarzenegger's budget cuts. Republicans are not happy!

As the Senator says,
"Abraham Lincoln finally had enough of Stephen Douglas’ obfuscations when they met to debate in Charleston, Illinois. He said, “Judge Douglas is playing cuttlefish – a small species of fish that has no mode of defending himself when pursued except by throwing out a black fluid which makes the water so dark the enemy cannot see it, and thus it escapes. It sets in motion events that will require even more painful cuts later precisely because of borrowing and accounting gimmicks. The first law of holes is very important. If you're in one, stop digging. That means stop borrowing, stop Enron-accounting ... and start dealing honestly with the budget."

With our state facing a $14.5 billion deficit, Schwarzenegger last Thursday proposed slashing payments to schools by 4 billion dollars, releasing 22,000 of "low-risk" inmates from prison early, and closing 48 state parks including Candlestick Park, Hearst Castle (see list here) as part of his to 10 percent cuts virtually across the board plan.

The Gov. says, "I do not believe in tax increases. I think the people of California are sending to Sacramento plenty of dollars," however, the governor did include two new fees in his plan - an $11 per car fee for registering vehicles, and a 1.25 percent levy on commercial and residential insurance policies.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO CALIFORNIANS?

-Parents would see spending on public schools drop by about 10 percent -- 4 billion dollars, including from special ed and after school programs.

-We would see 22,000 prison inmates who are deemed low-risk released into our cities up to 20 months early.

-Millions of low-income and disabled residents who rely on Medi-Cal for health care would lose dental coverage.

-Hikers could no longer use the largest state park in Northern California, Henry W. Coe State Park. Candlestick closed. 48 parks and beaches closed in total.

-The governor's budget also calls for significant cuts to health and human service programs. Medi-Cal, the health care program for the poor, disabled and some seniors, would suffer a $1 billion hit - but the actual toll would be double that because the program generates matching federal dollars. The cuts mean that doctors and hospitals who treat Medi-Cal patients will receive about 10 percent less for their work, even though the state's reimbursement rates are already among the lowest in the nation. And more than 3 million adults would lose dental coverage.

-Child protective services would be cut by 10 percent, as would payments to keep disabled people in their homes rather than institutionalized.

-The budget plan also eliminates payments for children whose families are considered at risk for homelessness.

Additionally the governor is proposing to issue $3.3 billion in bonds, and shift $2 billion of tax revenue that would otherwise be counted in the 2009-10 fiscal year to the coming fiscal year

And let's not forget that he is proposing a multi-billion new Hillary-care type of health care plan for the state. Where's that money going to come from - borrowing? hmmmmmmm

The Real Racism of Environmentalism

We talked about this on Monday's show:

While some debate if America is too racist to elect Barack Obama (or to sexist to elect Hillary Clinton such as Gloria Steinem), I would like to point out a form of real racism few are talking about: Letting Africans die because of radical environmentalist white idealogues' activism.

Paul Driessen, Senior Policy Advisor for the Congress of Racial Equality and former environmental policy advocate, and author of "Eco-Imperialism - Green Power, Black Death" has talked about this on our radio show several times. He says what few are courageous and willing enough to talk about -- the very real racism of environmentalism.

Did you know that in 2004 alone malaria took the lives of more African children than any other infectious disease, and according to UNICEF - three times more HIV/AIDS? How about that malaria infects 400 million people in sub-Saharan Africa and kills up to 2 million (half of them children) every year? Why? because of global environmental laws that prohibit the use of DDT spraying.

Paul Driessen points out in one of his articles:

“From colonial times until the 1940s, malaria was the American disease,” says Dr. Robert Desowitz, professor of tropical medicine at the University of North Carolina. At the dawn of the twentieth century, it thrived from New York to Florida, from North Carolina to California. Up to 7 million Americans were stricken by it every year until the mid-1920s, and 3,900 died in 1936. For centuries, it struck down people of all ages in England, Holland, Italy and other parts of Europe. But by the early 1950s, it was gone, and all but forgotten. How was this possible? We used DDT, window screens and other measures to gradually eradicate the malaria parasite from its human and insect hosts. Today, we still spray pesticides (mostly by airplanes) to control mosquitoes and the West Nile virus that some carry. But we apply a vastly different standard when it comes to poor developing countries that are still wracked by malaria."

Driessen also mentions that the European Union, World Health Organization, World Bank, UNICEF and environmental groups like Greenpeace, and others are on the forefront of preventing the most malaria-ridden nations from using the same insecticides that eradicated the disease here in America. More on Driessen here.

This begs the question: Why are the voices of human rights groups and churches silent about this 'subtle' form of racism, and human-rights abuse? You tell me.
Racism must be eradicated wherever it is found!

You can do something about this: For $10 you can buy a net to save a child Here.

"Darwin Day" is coming to a school near you

"Darwin Day" is coming to a school near you on February 12th.

So let's look at some of the Weird Views of Atheist Evolutionists:

Richard Dawkins, a devotee of Charles Darwin, said that everyone believed in evolution except "the ignorant, stupid or wicked."

In an article I wrote on the racist roots of Darwin's theory of evolutionI pointed out that Darwin believed that there is no ultimate foundation for ethics; that there is no ultimate meaning in life; and that free-will is a human myth. Let's not forget that Darwin was an atheist himself.

But not only atheist advocates of evolution are promoting the theory of evolution, but the mainstream media is as well, such as when MSNBC did a whole series on where the human species is headed in Human Evolution at the Crossroads...discussing some far out ideas including Unihumans.

There are some atheists who believe in 'intelligent design,' but not by a Creator. They believe an alien life force is a possible option for explaining creation, and they are serious.

Many may be surprised to know that Francis Crick, Nobel Prize winner and one of the discoverers of the DNA, believes that life forms were sent to earth in a space ship by a dying civilization. As a matter of fact, both discoverers of the DNA, Watson and Crick, are outspoken atheists.

Could these, and other such worldviews, be a force behind the battle over allowing creationism to be taught in schools? And why teachers debate how to address creationism "without stifling creative thinking?" Yes, I think so.

While objective scientists are investigating whether or not there is empirical evidence that life on earth was designed by an Intelligent Designer, and despite the fact that ID is called a theory, many in the scientific community do not recognize it as a theory, but a 'religious view' and therefore reject ID.

This, of course, begs the following Questions:

1) Why would scientists not welcome the search for evidence in regards to the possibility of Intelligent Design when it is the very (purported) nature of science to explore all possibilities?

2) Is science broad enough to allow for theories of human origins which incorporate the acts of an intelligent Designer?

3) And is the teaching of the theory of Intelligent Design appropriate in public education, using scientific evidence, the same that is claimed to be used in teaching Darwinism?

Scientific materialism which is quietly ruling in schools is not based so much on sound science as on a worldview that leaves God out.

The theory of evolution has only existed since the 19th century. Christianity has existed for over 2,000 and Judaism, longer still. All religions acknowledge a Creator/God. So, is the debate over teaching creationism or intelligent design alongside evolution in schools a sound scientific battle... or a religious/worldview battle? The answer is obvious.

What a Terrorist Government Looks Like

Whether you're concerned about what's going on in Israel and Pres. Bush's trip there this week, or the war on terror in general...if you want a view of what it's like for a terrorist organization to gain power in a country, all we have to do is look at Israel.

After Mahmoud Abbas came into power of the Palestinian Authority (PA) replacing Arafat, Hamas won many seats in the government and introduced the new cabinet which would be led by their most militant members. This created a hard-line Palestinian government void of moderate voices, which Hamas was bent on doing even at the expense of future funding from Western nations, which totaled over $1 billion a year in humanitarian aid in the past.

In other words, by choosing hard-liners who do not recognize Israel's right to exist as a state, the PA forfeited much needed aid for their people. The West laid down the requirement that Israel must be recognized as a state by the PA in order for them to receive financial help. Hamas refused and said instead that it would replace the Western funds with financial backing from Iran and other Arab states.

One of the most important government positions in the PA, the diplomatic position of foreign minister, was given to the co-founder of Hamas, Mahmoud Zahar, who supports the use of suicide bombers, and holds the position that Israel should be destroyed...and will 'eventually disappear.'

Another elected Hamas legislator, Ahmed Abdel-Aziz Mubarek said, the world just has to learn to deal with this, "The majority of the Palestinian people gave their votes to Hamas to establish the new government, so the world has to deal with this reality."

Though Mahmoud Abbas has veto power, as we have seen the opposition in his government doesn't just disagree verbally, but with violence. Hamas has repeatedly fought against Abbas' Fatah party. Such as the Guardian Unlimited reported last year, "...when a group of armed men, some in masks, others in police uniforms, broke into the office of a Fatah MP in Rafah, southern Gaza. Ashraf Jumaa, one of only a handful of Fatah politicians who has stayed in Gaza, was beaten on the head with a rifle butt and an aide was shot in the leg in what appeared to be a warning. Mr Jumaa insists some of the attackers were members of the Hamas militia, the Izzedin al-Qassam Brigades."

Recently, the leader of Hamas,Khaled Mashal, said, “Some Europeans have offered us to meet indirectly with Israelis to discuss a truce and we told them no and no 1,000 times.'' And called President Bush's upcoming visit, 'unwelcome' because he 'supports the occupation' of the Jews.

Hamas, also known as the Islamic Resistance Movement, declares its universality in its charter and its slogan, "Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief." The war on terror is not just about Afghanistan, Iraq, finding Osama bin Laden, it's about stopping the spread of terrrorist organizations wherever they are found. If we don't then the above could become a reality, even here in America. Remember, Israel is the 'little satan', and America the 'great satan' in the minds of militant Islam.

Looking at the '08 Candidate on the Issues all Week

With the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary over, and 27 more primaries before Super Tuesday, February 5th, we reviewed the candidate's positions on the issues all this week, including clips of democrat candidates at both Jim Wallis' Faith Forum and the HRC Gay Forum. Both said they would hold the same for republican candidates which have yet to happen.

If you missed the shows on the air you can hear them online HERE.

On Friday we zero in the religious political left, while not new, it is now emerging into the mainstream supporting candidates, of course, on the left. How will this effect the election, and perhaps even more important, the role of the church in the political process in the future?

In a blow to the John Edward's campaign, John Kerry has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Is anyone surprised that Edward's former running mate would do this?

Barbara Walters Criticizes White House Card

I know this is a little old news, but I talked about it on the show over the holidays and wanted to post it just for the record...

So, did you hear over the holidays that Barbara Walters criticized the Christmas card she received from the White House this year on ABC's "the View" for having a scripture from the Bible in it?

The card, which was signed by the President and Mrs. Bush, was among a cards Walters talked about a recent episode of the show. She said, “Usually in the past when I have received a Christmas card, it's been 'Happy Holidays' and so on.” But she expressed dismay that President Bush and the First Lady would send out a “religious Christmas card” which read: “You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you,” and closed with: “May the joy of all creation fill your heart this blessed season 2007.”

After reading the card Walters asked, "Does this also go to agnostics, and atheists, and Muslims? Don't you think it's a little interesting that the president of all the people is sending out a religious Christmas card?" But she didn’t seem to mind a Christmas card she received from Elton John and his gay partner David Furnish that had angels on the cover.

Joy Behar, one of the co-hosts on "The View" remarked that the Elton John card was "a religious card, too." To which Walters replied, "But it doesn't say anything religious. It says 'Season's Greetings.'" Later in the show Walters then said, "By the way, I don't want to put down the President of the United States and his wife. I think it's very nice that they sent me a Christmas card." But said she couldn’t ever recall receiving a “religious” Christmas card from the White House.

Well, I’ve received Christmas cards from the President and Mrs. Bush, they are beautiful, and last year’s card featured a Bible verse from Psalms, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

I have to tell you, I think Barbara Walters’ comments were pretty low. What possible reason would anyone have for criticizing publicly, on national TV, a Christmas card you’ve received…unless you don’t agree with its message, were offended by it, or are pushing an agenda? I would like to say to Ms. Walters, “You are a perfect example of those who just don’t get it. Your Swirled Views spoken, especially during the season of 'Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward Men,' bring division, not unity. But you just don’t get it…do you?”

Around the Web on Education: District Allows Boy in Girls' Restrooms

Grandfather accuses officials of discriminating against heterosexuals

Bob Unruh writing at WorldNetDaily reported:
A school districk following Maine's Human Rights Law and providing special accommodations to a 10-year-old with "sexual orientation or gender identification" issues is being accused of discrimination by a man whose grandson is being denied those same accommodations because of his sexual orientation – that of heterosexuality.

The dispute at Asa C. Adams Elementary School in Orono has the school committee on the defense, the grandfather on the march, and the local Bangor News newspaper trying to set rules for "Christian" behavior for the community.

At the heart of the issue is the treatment being provided an unidentified 10-year-old at the elementary school, according to documentation from the Christian Civic League of Maine.
The organization is reporting Paul Melanson found out his grandson's school was allowing another boy to use the girl's restroom, and decided that wasn't right. He told his grandson to follow the other boy into the girl's restroom whenever he saw the other boy doing it, and when he did, the boy was confronted by school officials and warned against such behavior, and the grandfather was confronted by police.

Candidate 'Faith Talk' -- Remember Al Gore's 'Flavor'?

For some Americans the concern is that some candidates talk too much about their faith. And for others the concern is knowing what the candidates mean when they say, 'God.' Nothing can be taken for granted these days.

While we watched the unexpected victory of Mike Hucabee in the Iowa caucuses, I couldn't help remembering an article I wrote a couple of years ago about seeing Al Gore a decade or more before on television promoting his book, "Earth in the Balance - Ecology and the Human Spirit;" and Tipper Gore talking about her concern of the effects rock and roll music was having on teenagers...

Back then, before Al Gore was Vice President, he and his wife talked about themselves as being born again Southern Baptists Christians. But, after reading Al's comments in the New Yorker magazine about George W. Bush's faith, it appears things changed.

As David Remnick wrote in the article, "And yet the Bush ideology is tinged with religious belief, I said. Not everything comes with a price tag attached. Gore’s mouth tightened...he clearly had disdain for Bush’s public kind of faith. 'It’s a particular kind of religiosity,' he said. 'It’s the American version of the same fundamentalist impulse that we see in Saudi Arabia, in Kashmir...'" Read more of Remnick's article.

Wow.

Remnick went on in his article to say, "We passed the Southern Baptist Convention building... I asked him which church in Nashville he and Tipper attended now. There was a pause in the front seat. 'We’re ecumenical now,' Gore said, finally. Tipper said with a laugh, 'I think I follow Baba Ram Dass.' 'The influx of fundamentalist preachers have pretty much chased us out with their right-wing politics,' Gore added."

But I wonder if it was the right-wing politics, or his own politics. Because in his book, Earth in the Balance - Ecology and the Human Spirit, again written when he claimed the Christian faith, he wrote this: "Our religious heritage is based on a single earth goddess (Mother Gaia) who is assumed to be the fountain of all life...All men have a god within. Each man has a god within because creation is god. Nature in its fullness is god."

Again...for some Americans the concern is that some candidates talk too much about their faith. And for others the concern is knowing what the candidates mean when they say, 'God.' Nothing can be taken for granted these days.
