Obama Ought Oh! -- "Typical White person"

(Obama and his 'typical white' grandmother)

Well, has Barack Obama been caught showing a prejudiced mentality? Just how much has his controversial pastor impacted him after all?

Obama's 'typical white person' slip, which has the internet and media buzzing, came when he 'clarified' his comments to a Philadelphia radio host on Thursday regarding the following statement he made earlier this week, during his national press conference which was called to 'clarify' his pastor's racist and other inflammatory comments:

"I can no more disown [Pastor Jeremiah Wright] than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

Ought Oh! So he tried to clarify his own statement to 610 WIP host Angelo Cataldi yesterday:

"The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred in our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

Double Ought Oh!

So then he sat down on the Larry King Live show last night to 'clarify' himself again:

"What I meant really was that some of the fears of street crime and some of the stereotypes that go along with that, you know, were responses that I think many people feel. She’s not extraordinary in that regard. She’s somebody who I love as much as anybody. I mean, she has literally helped to raise me.

But those are fears that are embedded in our culture and embedded in our society. And, you know, even within our own families, even within a family like mine that is diverse, you know, there are those gaps in understanding or the stereotypes that are fed by the news media and fed by what we see around us and, you know, in our popular culture."

Okay, so there may be a family member in all of our families who is prejudiced in some manner. But, as someone running for the President of the United States -- as a 'uniter' not divider -- someone who is trying to dodge the racist, anti-Semetic, anti-American statements of his controversial pastor...do his 'clarifiying' statements show good judgement? The kind a wise President would make? Are they prejudice-free?

Imagine John McCain or Hillary Clinton saying "typical black person".

You know, there are alot of 'typical white' people who are color-blind who would love to see an African-American as president. I would. But, not one who hasn't got their own racist issues settled. The President of the U.S. has to be the president of all the people, without prejudice, period.

I'd love to see a woman as President also.

But, whether male or female, white or black, red or yellow, or polka-dot...more than anything I want to see a true American patriot...one who loves this country, who believes in our Constitution and founding principles, and esteems all people equally regardless of race, color, religion...for President of the United States.

It's possible. We've had them before. And I believe we can have them again.

What do you use to scrutinize candidates -- How they make you feel? Or what they truly stand for?

Obama's Pastor Problems

ON WEDNESDAY'S SHOW: Our flagship station KDIA AM1640 in San Francisco Bay Area had a power outage and today's interview with Mason Weaver, author of "It's Okay to Leave the Plantation" talking about Barack Obama's pastor problems, and his national press conference address yesterday didn't air.

You can hear it online, however, right now at the following link. Mason addressed several issues raised about the controversey, including, the claims by liberals that Barack's pastor and spiritual mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright's anti-American views are common in black churches, and that 1/3 of black churches view Farrahkan favorably.

Jesse Jackson: "I'm not going to buy into the Wright 'hype'"

Jesse Jackson: "I'm not going to buy into the Wright 'hype'"

That's what Jesse Jackson said today about the inflammatory sermons preached by Barack Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright. He says it diverts public attention from more substantive issues.

"I'm not going to address that. Frankly, I'm not going to buy into the hype." Jackson told The Washington Times regarding whether he agrees with Wright's church which accused the media of subjecting the pastor to "crucifixion."

Jackson is president and founder of the Rainbow/Push Coalition, that was endorsed Mr. Obama a year ago.

Who was St. Patrick, Anyway?

ON MONDAY'S SHOW: William Federer, author of "St. Patrick", talked about little known information about St. Patrick. A fascinating look at the origin of this holiday and the similarities of 400 AD Ireland and England, and America in 2008. Did you know England was over-run with illegal aliens?

Here's just a few of the things he talked about:

-Rome was overrun with immigrants: Visigoths, Franks, Anglos, Saxons, Ostrogoths, Burgundians, Lombards and Vandals.

-Worldwide military conflicts strained the highly trained Roman legions.

-Rome had centuries-old government bureaucracies.

-Rome had a trade deficit, having outsourced its grain production to North Africa. When Vandals finished "vandalizing" the Roman Empire, they crossed the Strait of Gibraltar and captured the grain fields of North Africa, cutting off Rome's resources.

-Attila the Hun, called the "Scourge of God," committed terrorist attacks. -

-Exorbitant taxes were needed to fund Rome's military campaigns and welfare programs.

-The entire city of Rome was on welfare with citizens given free bread. \

-Romans distracted themselves with violent entertainment of gladiators in the Coliseum.

-There were unwanted infants, infidelity, sexual immorality continuing and homosexuality

Obama's Pastor: 'God Damn America!'

Open up your eyes, America!

Barack Obama's pastor and top spiritual advisor tells his congregation not to sing 'God Bless America' but 'God Damn America!"

ABC REPORTS:

An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wright's sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans.

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people," he said in a 2003 sermon. "God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda's attacks because of its own terrorism.

"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.
"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost," he told his congregation.

Rev. Wright, who declined to be interviewed by ABC News, is considered one of the country's 10 most influential black pastors, according to members of the Obama campaign.

Obama has praised at least one aspect of Rev. Wright's approach, referring to his "social gospel" and his focus on Africa, "and I agree with him on that."

FOX NEWS HAS MORE:

“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,” Wright said. “Hillary would never know that.

“Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”

In his Jan. 13 sermon, Wright said:

“Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.”

FOX News purchased the video recordings of Wright’s sermons from the church.

“It’s pretty clear an indirect endorsement of Barack Obama - that’s not something you’re supposed to do according to the tax code,” said Andrew Walsh, a professor at Trinity College who specializes in religion in politics.

The tax code bans churches from participating in or intervening in a political campaign. Violations can result in the loss of a church’s tax exempt status.

The Obama campaign issued a statement in response to FOX News’ inquiries about Wright’s sermons.

“Senator Obama has said repeatedly that personal attacks such as this have no place in this campaign or our politics, whether they’re offered from a platform at a rally or the pulpit of a church,” said Bill Burton, a campaign spokesman.

“Senator Obama does not think of the pastor of his church in political terms. Like a member of his family, there are things he says with which Senator Obama deeply disagrees.”

California Judge Rules Homeschooling Parents Unconstitutional

ON TUESDAY'S SHOW: Last week the Second Appellate District Court in Los Angeles, California ruled 3-0 that homeschooling parents must now have certification in order to teach their kids. Justice H. Walter Croskey ruled:
"California courts have held that parents do not have a constitutional right to homes chool their children."

As the San Francisco Chronicle reported: This has sent shock waves across the state, leaving an estimated 166,000 children as possible truants and their parents at risk of prosecution. The homeschooling movement never saw the case coming. The ruling arose from a child welfare dispute between the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and Philip and Mary Long of Lynwood, who have been homeschooling their eight children. Mary Long is their teacher, but holds no teaching credential. The parents said they also enrolled their children in Sunland Christian School, a private religious academy in Sylmar (Los Angeles County), which considers the Long children part of its independent study program and visits the home about four times a year. The Second District Court of Appeal ruled that California law requires parents to send their children to full-time public or private schools or have them taught by credentialed tutors at home.

According to Justice H. Walter Croskey,
"Parents have a legal duty to see to their children's schooling under the provisions of these laws."
And:
"A primary purpose of the educational system is to train school children in good citizenship, patriotism and loyalty to the state and the nation as a means of protecting the public welfare."

Did you get that? LOYALTY TO THE STATE is what the judge says is a primary purpose of the educational system.

Also, citizenship and patriotism -- but who really believes the schools are emphasizing that any more?

This ruling had Lloyd Porter, director of the state's largest teachers union jumping up and down!
"We're happy. We always think students should be taught by credentialed teachers, no matter what the setting."
Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute, who will represent Sunland Christian School and the Long family in a likely appeal to the state Supreme Court said,
"With this case law, anyone in California who is homeschooling without a teaching credential is subject to prosecution for truancy violation, which could require community service, heavy fines and possibly removal of their children under allegations of educational neglect."

What you can do:

California State Assembly Member Joel Anderson has introduced an Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR 115), which denounces Anti-homeschool Appellate Court Decision, and expresses support for private home education and the desire of the Legislature that the Supreme Court reverse the Appellate Court decision.

ACR 115 supports the right of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children. It expresses the Legislature's position that the Appellate Court's interpretation of the laws, under which parents teach their children at home, was misguided. And, it would call on the California Supreme Court to reverse the Appellate Court's opinion.

Status of the Resolution: Introduced Monday, March 10, 2008; May be assigned to a policy committee first, or be sent directly to the Assembly Floor for a vote by a date yet to be assigned.

Take Action: Call your State Assemblymember and State Senator as soon as possible and urge them to STRONGLY SUPPORT ACR 115. (See CW Take Action or Election Center pages for links

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenneger says he will counter the court ruling. Contact him to stand firm on that resolve. Governor’s office is (916) 445-2841 or fax (916) 445-4633

E-mails are usually ignored, letters and calls are much more effective.

Oprah says she "was born" for this...

On March 3, 2008 internet records were broken when over 500,000 fans logged on to Oprah Winfrey's first online 'classroom' with Eckhart Tolle, author of "A New Earth - Awakening Your Life's Purpose", her latest book club choice.

When promoting this on her daily television show on February 28, 2008, Oprah said,
"I really do believe I was born to be a vehicle for this information to come to all of you. If you want to be a part of it, if you want to find out who you really are, join the largest interactive classroom in the world. It's free, because I want to begin to transform the world one reader at a time."

What is in Tolle's book that the daytime talk show diva believes she is a vehicle to promote? Here's just a few quotes from the book to give you an idea:
"A glimpse is enough to initiate the 'awakening' process which is irreversible."

"The light of consciousness is all that is necessary. You are that light."

"Sin is a word that has been greatly misunderstood and misinterpreted. To sin means to miss the mark, so to sin means to miss the point of human existence."

"The man on the cross is an archetypal image. He is every man and every woman."

Oprah is obviously a 'believer' in Tolle's new-age teachings, and other such books, like the "The Course in Miracles," which is being taught by Marinne Williamson on Oprah's radio show. During the first session with Tolle Oprah said, "I believe Jesus came to show us Christ-consciousness."
You can hear other such statements by Oprah on our show HERE.

You can also see clips from Oprah's first session with Tolle on YouTube HERE.

Ohio & Texas Primaries: Experience & The Jewish Vote

ON TUESDAY'S SHOW: A big day in the lives of the candidates:

-John McCain secured the Republican nomination.

-Mike Huckabee dropped out of the race.

-Hillary Clinton won both Ohio and Texas.

-But Barack Obama claimed victory (because he has more delegate votes).

We talked about how many are questioning, and rightfully so, "How much does experience matter -- when it comes to being President of the United States?"

Did you see last week's TIME Magazine on the subject? (see article)

In focus group after focus group when participants were asked, be they democrat, republican or independent, to name at least one accomplishment that Barack Obama has that qualifies him for President, no one could name one, except being elected to the Senate four years ago.

We also talked about some interesting, but not much talked about aspects of this election, such as:

1) Republicans like Barack Obama almost as much as they like John McCain, according to a new Fox/Washington Times/Rasmussen Reports poll. The survey determined that a quarter of self-identified Republicans rated Mr. McCain most likable, but nearly as many - 23 percent - chose Mr. Obama as most likable. And among all adults surveyed, Mr. Obama was rated likable by more people than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mr. McCain combined.

2) The Jewish Vote: Josiah Ryan over at CNSNews.com - wrote about how Jewish Democrat Voters Could Help Clinton:

Although most of the states with upcoming primaries have Jewish communities ranging from 0.3 percent to 2.3 percent of the population, Hillary Clinton's command of the Jewish vote -- fostered as first lady and as senator of New York, the state with the nation's largest Jewish population -- could be a defining element in the tight race she's running with Sen. Barack Obama.

Fritz Wencel, communications director for the polling firm Zogby International said that "Even though Jewish voters may represent a small overall percentage of the electorate, their proven practice of going to the polls in greater numbers than other demographic groups makes them an important voting block for candidates who are locked in tight races." According to MSNBC exit polls American Jews already have disproportionately affected the 2008 primaries. For example, in New York, where Jews comprise 8.4 percent of the population, they represented 16 percent of the vote in the Feb 5th Super Tuesday Democratic primary.

In states with small Jewish populations -- Ohio is 1.3 percent Jewish -- the voter turnout has been large in the primaries.. For example, Connecticut's 3.2 percent Jewish population nearly tripled its clout, accounting for 8.4 percent of the state's Democratic vote -- and swinging the state in favor of Obama on Feb. 5. With the exception of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and California, Clinton has won the Jewish vote in every state so far. Her campaign Web site touts her "long history of strong and steadfast leadership for the U.S.-Israel relationship."

3) The Obama problem:

He espouses pro-Israel views nearly identical to Clinton's, but his connection with religious leaders who are anti-Semitic and anti-Israel, as well as his expressions of sympathy for Palestinians, apparently is helping Clinton hold onto her lead among Jewish voters. Obama expressed sympathy for Palestinians at a rally in Iowa. "Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people," he said. The statement drew a hail of fire from bloggers and others.

Obama's known ties to religious leaders accused of anti-Semitism make it difficult for him to gain an edge among Jewish voters.

We've talked about this before but: Obama's spiritual advisor and the pastor of his church, Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. who Obama says "helps him keep his "priorities straight and moral compass calibrated" has made anti-Israel statements. The New York Times reported last April, that Wright had said that Zionism includes an element of "white racism." The Trumpet magazine , a publication of Wright's church, featured Louis Farrakhan the leader of the Nation of Islam as a 'shining example' and gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Farrakhan who has called Judaism a "gutter religion" and said Jews are "bloodsuckers" and "wicked deceivers". He has also said that whites are 'blue-eyed devils.'

Farrakhan recently said that Obama was "the hope of the entire world" and was transforming his audiences by the effect of his speeches. At Hillary Clinton's prompting at the final Democratic debate last Tuesday, Obama told moderator Tim Russert that he both "rejects " Farrakhan's support of him as a candidate. Hillary pressed for 'denouncing' not just rejecting...which Obama fumbled with and finally said, "if the Senator thinks denouncing is more than rejecting then I'll go with that."

Angelina Jolie Wants Troops to Stay in Iraq

A real Hollywood Twist: Angelina Jolie Wants Troops to Stay in Iraq.

The mainstream media isn’t reporting this story, I’m guessing because it is too ‘Swirled’ for them. But according to NewsMax's Hollywood Confidential:

“Hollywood celebrities are known for supporting candidates who campaign on the promise to bring the troops home from Iraq. But Angelina Jolie, in her capacity as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, visited Iraq and had the opportunity to meet with the military responsible for the success of the ‘surge.’ And the actress-diplomat is now distinguishing herself from most of the Hollywood Left. In a Washington Post op-ed titled, “Staying to Help in Iraq,” “General Petraeus told me he would support new efforts to address the humanitarian crisis ‘to the maximum extent possible’ -- which leaves me hopeful that more progress can be made.”

As for the surge, she said, “I can only state what I witnessed: U.N. staff and those of non-governmental organizations seem to feel they have the right set of circumstances to attempt to scale up their programs. And when I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq. They want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible.

Can the United States afford to gamble that four million or more poor and displaced people, in the heart of the Middle East, won't explode in violent desperation, sending the whole region into further disorder? It appears as though Jolie is affirming what military leaders have been saying; that not only will humanitarian progress be halted if the U.S. pulls out, but a humanitarian calamity will ensue.”

How refreshing to see this common sense coming out of Hollywood! But I can assure you she wouldn’t be welcome in Iran! During Iranian Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s two day visit in Iraq recently he said,

"No one likes them (the United States). This is the wish of regional nations, that is the withdrawal of foreigners from this region."

He wants us out of Iraq now! Because his kind of rule is in jeopardy if we are successful in the region. His kind of rule such as: Sentencing an American-Iranian Journalist recently who was tried in absentia. Even though she is no longer in Iraq, Radio Farda correspondent Parnaz Azima has been sentenced to one year in prison for "spreading anti-state propaganda." Radio Farda is considered subversive by the Iranian regime.

No, Angelina Joli would not be welcome in Iran, but I’m sure they would welcome other celebrities who agree with them such as, well, Rosie O’Donnell, who believes 9/11 was an inside job (scroll down) do I need to go on? No, I don’t think so, that’s Swirled enough by itself.

Scientists Dissent from Man-Made Global Warming Fears

ON MONDAY'S SHOW: Dr. Michael Coffman, respected scientist and environmental expert joined me on the show to talk about the other side of the story on the Global Warming Scare...of how tens of billions of dollars have been spent to put global institutions that are not accountable to the American people in control of every aspect of our economy. This interview clearly debunks the GW myths. If you want to hear the other side I recommend you listen to what he had to say Online HERE.

The author of several books, Dr. Coffman has produced an important DVD, Global Warming or Global Governance, with scientists, legislators and media broadcasters who question the claims of Al Gore and his "Inconvenient Truth" and those who claim that we are in eminent danger, and that man is the cause of global warming.

I highly recommend the DVD which you can see a 5 minutes trailer of HERE. or HERE.

Marc Morano, Comm. Director for the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Senator Inhof's office reports the following:

Yet another recently retired preeminent scientist has declared himself a dissenter from the so-called global warming ‘consensus.’ The ranks of skeptical scientists continue to swell. See Senate report of well over 400 scientists (currently at over 470 and growing) who dissent from man-made global warming fears See: http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.SenateReport

In 1976 Lowell Ponte was wrong in saying, "This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000."

Like Ponte, Al Gore et al are wrong about Global Warming, but they're making alot of money being on that wrong side.
