Political Wrap-Up: SOTU - More Taxes & Spending

Obama's SOTU call for 'fairness'...

“Let’s never forget: Millions of Americans who work hard and play by the rules every day deserve a government and a financial system that do the same. It’s time to apply the same rules from top to bottom: No bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts.”

Wait, is he repenting? Did I miss it? Did he admit wrong? I mean, his administration is the winner when it comes to "bailouts, handouts and copouts."

His version of 'fairness' will include a surtax of up to 5.6 percent and raising the capital gains tax rate to 20 percent for upper income taxpayers, and more...spending. He promises to aid companies that will bring their business back home. We all want American businesses to bring their business back home...but where is he going to get the money to 'reward' them for doing so? Taxes.

There were several incredible statements/claims of the night, but the one at then end when he said that the state of our nation is good, I wonder how many Americans really believe that - even of his supporters. (see video here)

Carolina debate when CNN started the debate off with a question about claims of his ex-wife, Mitt Romney started Florida's debate tonight like an attack dog against Gingrich. He kept attacking until the moderator, Brian Williams, had to stop him. On another note, it was interesting to hear Ron Paul's almost endorsement of Newt tonight.

Political Wrap-Up: Obama the "Food Stamp President"

Newt Gingrich called Pres. Obama the "Food Stamp President," because more Americans are on food stamps under his presidency than any other... to which Juan Williams took issue with, saying it was a slam against poor people, in his questioning him at last night's debate in SC. Today the White House criticized the former Speaker's comments. SEE HERE.

A record 45 million people received food stamps last year at a cost of $75 billion. The program, formally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, has more than doubled in cost since 2008.

What say you? Is it an appropriate moniker for the president?

A Proclamation.

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consiousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.

Linda Kimball writing in American Thinker on the rise of Marxism in America dispells two significant current myths:

"There are two misconceptions held by many Americans. The first is that communism ceased to be a threat when the Soviet Union imploded. The second is that the New Left of the Sixties collapsed and disappeared as well. "The Sixties are dead," wrote columnist George Will ("Slamming the Doors," Newsweek, Mar. 25, 1991)

"Because the New Left lacked cohesion it fell apart as a political movement. However, its revolutionaries reorganized themselves into a multitude of single issue groups. Thus we now have for example, radical feminists, black extremists, anti-war 'peace' activists, animal rights groups, radical environmentalists, and 'gay' rights groups. All of these groups pursue their piece of the radical agenda through a complex network of organizations such as the Gay Straight Lesbian Educators Network (GSLEN), the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), People for the American Way, United for Peace and Justice, Planned Parenthood, Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS), and Code Pink for Peace.

"Both communism and the New Left are alive and thriving here in America. They favor code words: tolerance, social justice, economic justice, peace, reproductive rights, sex education and safe sex, safe schools, inclusion, diversity, and sensitivity. All together, this is Cultural Marxism disguised as multiculturalism."

Population Control Crazies & Whiners

If it isn't enough that population control advocates call for major population reduction as well as controlling new births, such as Ted Turner, (see list here of other World's Richest Population Controllers) as we talked about on today's show, they also whine that more people aren't willing to talk about their ideas.

As Clay Waters at Times Watch pointed out:

"New York Times reporter Mireya Navarro wrote in Tuesday's edition sympathetically about the struggle of an environmental group "breaking the taboo" of discussing overpopulation in

"Breaking a Long Silence On Population Control." Such groups had it easier in the 1970s, Navarro wrote, before the rise of "social conservatism" and America's "aversion to anything perceived as restricting individual freedoms, be it the right to bear arms or children." Unfortunately, "the notion that curbing births is an effective way to control emissions is not an easy sell.

"Navarro is disturbed by the lack of population control in movies as well; she actually criticized the comedy "Knocked Up" in June 2007 for failing to hail abortion as an option in the plot and included this telling sentence: "Many conservative bloggers have claimed 'Knocked Up' as an anti-choice movie, in part because the movie never presents abortion as a serious option." Pro-life conservatives generally don't go around using liberal lingo like "anti-choice."

"From her Tuesday story: Major American environmental groups have dodged the subject of population control for decades, wary of getting caught up in the bruising politics of reproductive health."

Libyan Leader Declares Nation Will be Led by Sharia Law

As Newsmax reported: "Libya's transitional leader declared his country's liberation Sunday after an 8-month civil war and set out plans for the future with an Islamist tone. He laid out a vision for the post-Gadhafi future with an Islamist tint, saying Islamic Sharia law would be the "basic source" of legislation and existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified.

New Game: Tea Party Zombies Must Die...

This is someone's sick idea of fun...

Advergame has come out with a new one, "Tea Party Zombies." Here's how it's described:

DON'T GET TEA-BAGGED! The Tea Party zombies are walking the streets of America. Grab your weapons and bash their rotten brains to bits! Destroy zombie Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers, and many more!

In this new violent online video game players are sent on missions to kill Republican politicians, FOX News anchors and others useing guns, crowbars and machetes.

FOX NEWS reported: Attention to the game's release has heightened after violent rhetoric from Teamsters President James P. Hoffa, who in a speech over the weekend told President Obama that his supporters would "take out the son-of-a-bitches" in the Tea Party who were waging "war" against unions.

"The liberal media have been preaching for years that conservatives are the ones who invoke violent imagery and rhetoric. Yet in the space of two days, the radical, pro-Obama left calls us 'son-of-a-bitches' and says they want to 'take us out.' And they follow that with a hideously violent game where they do just that -- depicting ways of shooting prominent conservatives, presidential candidates and journalists," said Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center. "The news media would be in an uproar if violence had been incited against liberals. Their silence disgusts me."

Federal Gov’t Asks Court to Block Alabama Immigration Law

Government officials wants an appeals court to block the controversial Alabama immigration law from going into full effect, arguing that it opens the door for discrimination against legal immigrants and foreign-born citizens.

The federal government filed the challenge to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. It claimed Alabama's new law "is highly likely to expose persons lawfully in the United States, including school children, to new difficulties in routine dealings."

Al Gore Promoter of Doomsday Cult?

Okay, this picture is funny, but some take the comparison seriously.

The Wall Street Journal had an article a few months back when Harold Camping predicted the end of the world would occur on May 21, 2011, called Camping the "Christian Al Gore." Why?

Because the former Vice President is more and more being seen as part of a new doomsday cult that has grown out of the Green movement.

While there are environmental issues we should be concerned about, as Marc Morano of Climate Depot pointed out on today's show, some Green devotees are using the movement to promote a radical agenda that includes population control, and exploiting people of color in third world countries.

The most recent green doomsday scare has been Global Warming, which in former years was thought of as a scientific theory, but today promoters like Al Gore are taking it over the edge, resulting in some Green advocates publically stating that Gore's 'apocalypic' claims are beyond even their belief. For example, as The UK Guardian's Leo Hickman, a prominent media activist for man-made global warming, said:

"I was a little nervous this morning logging into Climate Reality...And, I have to say, my heart immediately sank, is Gore now a help or hindrance to global warming cause? I have suffered this torture too many times over the years...[Gore's show had] slide after slide of extreme weather events...& linking everyone, it seemed, to rise in [man-made] emissions...that is a very contentious peg on which to hang your hat..."

And two German scientists, following Gore's recent 'climate reality show' called his latest claims 'apocalypic' and his 'promise of salvation' disturbing.

Apocalypic? Promise of salvation? Are they going too far with their criticisms? Perhaps a basic definition of what a cult is can help answer the question:

A Cult: controls its members' beliefs & behavior; dictating what they accept as 'the truth', and who they associate with (only those who with the same beliefs); and strongly promote their leaders as having superior knowledge, and if you disagree with them you are labeled.

There are those who take this talk of Al Gore promoting a cultist-type adherence to climate change as untrue, or merely 'tongue in cheek,' but there are those who take his beliefs more seriously, because they take him at his word, such as he writes in his book, "Earth in the Balance," promoting a religious duty to be 'green'...

"The challenge before the religious community in America is to make every congregation - every church, synagogue and mosque - truly "green" - a center of environmental study and action. That is their religious duty."

Chapter and verse please?

In May of 2010 Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters reported: "Nobel Laureate Al Gore purchased a $9 million mansion in the luxurious hills of Montecito, California, recently, and with the exception of the Los Angeles Times and Fox News, America's media couldn't care less. You think it might be because the Gore-loving press wouldn't want people to consider the possibility that all of his global warming hysteria was really about lining his wallet and not saving the planet."

And remember what Gore, the Nobel Laureate, told Congress in 2009 as the House was deliberating cap-and-trade legislation? See Video.

Al Gore is not alone in 'climate adherence hypocrisy' -- this movement is filled with elitists who expect everyone but themselves to follow their dictates. Who can forget the Climate Conference in Bali a few years back where environmental elitists all flew in on their private jets causing chaos? Here's the details just to refresh our memories.

Well, I could go on and on, and I'm sure you could, too, but we'll leave it here for now. I've got to hop in my SUV and buy some charcoal for tonight's bar-be-que steak dinner.

Abbas Holding Obama's feet to the fire?

Very interesting twist to the PA push for UN recognized statehood.

As The Blaze reports:

"The Palestinian Authority is pulling out all the stops in their bid for United Nations statehood recognition on Sept. 20 - including using President Barack Obama's own words, Reuters reported Wednesday.

A new 36-second radio ad to drum up support for the statehood campaign features a clip from Obama's speech to the 2010 U.N. General Assembly, in which he alluded to the possibility of a Palestinian state being able to join the international body "next year."

"When we come back here next year, we can have an agreement that can lead to a new member of the United Nations, an independent, sovereign state of Palestine living in peace with Israel," Obama said in his 2010 speech to the U.N.

Obama's words were couched in terms of restarting Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, and U.S. officials sought to downplay the statement at the time as simply an expression of hope."

The Left Wants Obama to be Honest?

It's not been a good couple of weeks for Pres. Obama. Not only has it been exposed that he gave over half a billion (that's right, half a billion) dollars to the failed company, Solyndra (which gave over half a million dollars to his campaign), and this during a very bad recession, but, as Yahoo.com reports, the latest Census shows that the U.S. poverty rate increased to nearly 1 in 6 people, reaching a new high.

And, if that isn't bad enough for a president looking to be re-elected, his allies, such as Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post is calling for him to be honest about his failed policies...

"We don't know yet what the overarching theme of President Obama's reelection campaign will be, but the word "change" is likely to once again play at least a co-starring role. But this time it's different. We've now seen the ways in which the president went about trying to effect that change over the last three years. So while his ideas about the changes the system needs in his second term are welcome and necessary, there is another kind of change he needs to talk about if the change he proposes is to be believed. He needs to make clear the changes he intends to make in himself, in the way he governs, and in the way he approaches the big, systemic changes he claims to want to see. In order for voters to believe that things will be different in the president's second term, there has to be some recognition of what didn't work in the first."

I would say...don't hold your breath Arianna. Pres. Obama is fixing to announce his latest plan which -- another $1.5 trillion (trillion) in new taxes, yes, aimed predominantly at wealthy Americans, but for the 14 million unemployed, this offers no relief, only more worry about getting a job. As everyone knows taxing the job creators does not create jobs.

This kind of policy has NEVER worked in creating jobs.

Not only that, but his remedy (raising taxes) includes capping deductions on families and businesses earning more than $250,000 a year...and this includes charitable deductions.

So, no unemployment relief...and now less dollars for charities.

He just doesn't get it.

To my friends on the Left, I would say that this is an indication that he is not going to be honest about his failed policies, either with himself or with us, at least not any time soon, if ever.

I'm just saying...

Catholic Bishops Weigh Into Budget Debate

So, what is the role of the church in policy matters such as on the following?

As Congress struggles to balance our out-of-control federal budget, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has officially put its oar into the debate. In an open letter to congress, the USCCB (along with Catholic Relief Services), told federal budget-crunchers exactly what programs they thought should be sliced from the budget. And, (surprise surprise) they are the same programs that we at PRI recommend cutting.

As you consider appropriations language, we strongly support restoring the Mexico City Policy against funding groups that perform or promote abortion, and denying funding to the U.N. Population Fund which supports a program of coerced abortion and involuntary sterilization in China.

It is also important to preserve the Helms Amendment, prohibiting U.S. funding for abortion, and the Kemp-Kasten provision, prohibiting support of organizations involved in programs of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.

Why does the Catholic leadership recommend these policy adjustments so forthrightly? Aren't policy matters supposed to be prudential concerns, decided by the state and left alone by the Church?

Yes and no. Obviously, the Catholic Bishops Conference has no legislative authority. But when it comes to issues like abortion, the Church has always taken an unequivocal stance against the practice and has strongly opposed spending public money on it. And as such, it is well within the Church's rights to make public recommendations based on these views.

High School Reinstates Teacher After Comments on Facebook

Jerry Buell, the Lake County teacher who was suspended after making anti-gay comments on Facebook, said he's looking forward to getting back into the classroom, moments after the district's superintendent reinstated him on Wednesday.

Buell will return to his class on Thursday.

"If I did not stand up for my rights after telling my students to stand up for their rights then I would be a hypocrite," the Mount Dora High social studies teacher said as he stood in front the school district's offices with his attorney and wife. "It's been a lesson. It's been a heck of a lesson."

Whether Buell was actually reprimanded or sanctioned by school officials after a one hour meeting with school Superintendent Susan Moxley will not be made public for 10 days. School officials said only that a "written directive" was placed in Buell's personnel file.

School's spokesperson Chris Patton said he could not elaborate on whether the directive would affect any future promotions with the Lake County Schools.

The case has drawn national attention with both the American Civil Liberties Union and the ultra-conservative Liberty Counsel backing Buell's right to speak his mind. The Liberty Counsel represented Buell throughout the investigation and at Wednesday's meeting.

"Today is a great day for the Constitution and for the First Amendment," Buell's attorney Harry Mihet of the Liberty Council said. "His views were the views of a majority of Americans and certainly of a majority of Floridians."

Joe Biden likened Tea Partiers to Terrorists

POLITICO REPORTED: "Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having “acted like terrorists” in the fight over raising the nation’s debt limit, according to several sources in the room.

Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting.

“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”

Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists.”

Biden’s office initially declined to comment about what the vice president said inside the closed-door session, but after POLITICO published the remarks, spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said: “The word was used by several members of Congress. The vice president does not believe it’s an appropriate term in political discourse.”

Biden later denied he used that term in an interview with CBS.

“I did not use the terrorism word,” Biden told CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Scott Pelley.

Senators Introduce Legislation To Remove Tax Burden On Gold And Silver Coins

Personal Liberty Digest reported: "On June 28, Senators Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) introduced the Sound Money Promotion Act, which would allow legal tender gold and silver coins to be considered in the same manner as United States currency for taxation purposes. Thirteen states have recognized gold and silver coins as legal tender, but currently those coins are taxed as if they were not part of U.S. currency.

“Thanks to the government’s reckless over-spending, continued bailouts, and the Federal Reserve’s easy money policy, this year the purchasing power of the dollar hit an all-time low in the several decades since we went off the gold standard,” DeMint said when introducing the bill to the Senate, according to a press release. “This legislation would encourage wider adoption of sound money measures, and that’s a step in the right direction.”

ScienceDaily (July 13, 2011) — Scientists are reporting development of a new approach for producing large quantities of human-derived gelatin that could become a substitute for some of the 300,000 tons of animal-based gelatin produced annually for gelatin-type desserts, marshmallows, candy and innumerable other products.

Their study appears in American Chemical Society's Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry.

Jinchun Chen and colleagues explain that animal-based gelatin, which is made most often from the bones and skin of cows and pigs, may carry a risk of infectious diseases such as "Mad Cow" disease and could provoke immune system responses in some people. Animal-based gelatin has other draw-backs, with variability from batch to batch, for instance, creating difficulties for manufacturers. Scientists thus have sought alternatives, including development of a human-recombinant gelatin for potential use in drug capsules and other medical applications.

To get around these difficulties, the scientists developed and demonstrated a method where human gelatin genes are inserted into a strain of yeast, which can produce gelatin with controllable features.

As CNSNews reported: Mrs. Clinton made the remarks at the State Department at a celebration of LGBT Pride Month co-hosted by the department and Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies (GLIFAA), a group that, according to its website, “represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) personnel and their families in the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Foreign Commercial Service, Foreign Agricultural Service, and other foreign affairs agencies and offices in the U.S. Government.”

On June 11, Lady Gaga performed at a rally at the ancient Circus Maximus in Rome, Italy. The rally followed a gay pride march through the city of Rome.

Gaga sparked controversy earlier this year with the release of her song “Judas” in early May. The video depicted Gaga as a Mary Magdalene figure--in a motorcycle gang—who becomes enamoured with Judas. “The video opens with a motorcycle gang cruising down a freeway, as Gaga clutches onto a Jesus-like figure who wears a golden crown of thorns,” said a Billboard.com description of the video.

“Oh, I'm in love with Judas, Judas,” says the song. “In the most Biblical sense I am beyond repentance. Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind.”

The above map shows some of the largest inter-state migration. The statistics are already old as the number leaving California has increased...

The Orange County Register reported: "Does California seem a little less crowded these days? Maybe it's the 870,550 people who moved out of state. That's like the whole city of San Francisco just up and left.

"Chapman University economist Esmael Adibi highlighted the huge outflow of Californians last week during the school's mid-year economic forecast update.

"The primary reason they left is jobs," Adibi said. "But the second reason was (high) housing prices. And what was their favorite destination when they moved? If you guessed Texas, you would be wrong. Arizona was the No. 1 choice for relocation. Texas was second." Read the rest.

As I see it -- The Solution? Lower taxes, less regulation and less spending. This would result in the reverse - people moving into California - and the state would see an increase of revenues. It's really that simple.

Al Qaeda Site Posts 'Hit List' of U.S. Targets

FOX NEWS Reported today -- The Department of Homeland Security has sent out an internal alert warning that jihadist websites last week posted a "hit list" of American executives, officials and companies -- an alarming development that could mark the start of a new phase in terror plots.

The list, which covers dozens of names connected to the Iraq war, including executives at Halliburton and KBR, was compiled by users who vowed to "send explosive mail" to the "best target." The lists were published online around the same time American-born Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn released a video in which he called on Muslims in the U.S. to kill Americans.

The full breadth of the online discussion is actually worse than it is portrayed in the original DHS report. Though the report mostly referred to potential private-sector targets named on the thread early last week, Shumukh posts obtained by FoxNews.com show the jihadist discussion has stretched into this week. Subsequent posts after the report went out included discussion of numerous government officials, as well as media figures.

It's getting harder and harder to know whose reporting you can trust in the religious community. One I appreciate is the conservative Institute on Religion and Democracy...at least the reporting I've seen. For instance...

"The World Council of Churches (WCC) is preparing for the next round of its seemingly endless “Decade to Overcome Violence,” which is mostly about opposing America and the West. Stopping Islamist “violence” does not typically rank high on its agenda. This May it convened a culminating “International Ecumenical Peace Convocation” in Jamaica. The “Decade” began in 2001 along with the United Nations’ “International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.”

Over the last 10 years, the WCC has dispatched “living letters” i.e. Religious Left delegations that visited a host of countries, including the U.S. in 2007. The U.S. “letter” mainly visited with gun control groups, anti-Iraq War protesters, and agitated voices disgruntled over New Orleans slow recovery from Katrina. It’s not clear how anger over a hurricane’s wreckage, and the often botched federal effort to rebuild, qualifies as “violence.” But the WCC’s “Decade” is mostly about just being angry with the “empire,” i.e. the U.S.

Israel Seizes Ship with Iranian Weapons

ISRAEL TODAY reports that Israeli Navy commandos seized a German freighter en route to the Egyptian port of el-Arish on Tuesday. The ship was carrying Iranian-made weapons for Hamas, the Palestinian faction ruling the Gaza Strip.

Elite naval commandos intercepted the Victoria about 200 miles off Israel's Mediterranean coast. According to media reports, the commandos encountered no resistance from the crew, who said they were unaware of the weapons cache on board. The crew planned to unload the cargo at Alexandria's el-Arish port, where the weapons would have been transported by land to the smuggling tunnels near the Rafah border crossing.

The freighter, which set sail from Syria and docked in Turkey, left for Egypt Monday evening under a Liberian flag. A French shipping company was also involved.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the operation. "We had a solid basis that onboard the ship was weaponry destined for use against Israel," the prime minister said in a statement released by his office.

"Considerable weaponry - which was destined for terrorist forces in the heart of Gaza - was found onboard the vessel. The operation was carried out at sea in accordance with all international rules. The weaponry originated in Iran, which is trying to arm the Gaza Strip," he continued.

In the meantime, we talked on the show today about Ireland's pro-Palestinian position with journalist Sean Gannon, direct from Ireland.

March 14, 2011 /Christian Newswire -- Under cover of darkness, Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, arrived in Ontario, Canada, Sunday night to rescue Baby Joseph Maraachli from the London Health Sciences Centre. For two weeks, doctors at the hospital in London, Ontario, have been delaying the baby's transfer to a hospital where efforts to save his life will not be officially labeled "futile."

"I knew, after this dragged on day after day, that I needed to be here myself to get Baby Joseph to safety," said Father Pavone. "He needs to be in a hospital that cherishes life over the bottom line. After around-the-clock negotiations, this really became a race against time." Father Pavone was accompanied by Priests for Life staff, who were there to assure the transfer proceeded smoothly.

Baby Joseph and his father, Moe Maraachli, were flown with Father Pavone to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo., on a specially equipped air ambulance.

On today's television show Glenn Beck not only talked about the "12th-ers" ie Ahmadinejad and Khamenei (who claims he has been in touch with the Islamic long-awaited 12th Imam - who says he is behind all the protests in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East), but also Beck connected some dots between Google and Soros...and much more, ie former Google exec, Schmidt saying...

While insisting on the reality of the holocaust, something many muslims deny, Barack Obama puts the genocide of 6 million Jews in the same category of what has happened to the Palestinians — something largely inflicted on themselves through their suicide bombings, calls for the destruction of Israel, etc. He treats them as morally equivalent."

African Americans the Target of Planned Parenthood

January is National Sanctity of Human Life Month and that means a dedicated focus on life ethics, facts and laws, such as Roe v. Wade.

As Ronald Reagan once said, "Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is alive. And thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." He also said, "An unborn child's property rights are protected, but not his life!" Unfortunately, for minorities this is even more so the truth.

Many don't want to, or won't, believe that Planned Parenthood's founder, Margaret Sanger, was a racist, and that today the largest marketer of abortion, Planned Parenthood, targets minority neighborhoods, but the statistics are staggering clear.

(LifeSiteNews.com) – In a recent interview with California Lawyer, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia stated that abortion is not included in the U.S. Constitution.

Scalia, who is opposed to the notion of an “evolving” or “living” Constitution, told interviewer Calvin Massey that by giving some of the “necessarily broad” provisions of the Constitution an “evolving meaning,” these provisions fail to do their job, which is to put in place limitations on what society can or cannot do.

Even if “the current society has come to different views [than the original framers],” he said, “you do not need the Constitution to reflect the wishes of the current society.”

Instead, he said, when something isn’t found in the Constitution, it should be taken up by legislators. One of the examples that he used to illustrate this point was abortion.

“You want a right to abortion? There’s nothing in the Constitution about that,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean you cannot prohibit it. Persuade your fellow citizens it’s a good idea and pass a law.

“That’s what democracy is all about. It’s not about nine superannuated judges who have been there too long, imposing these demands on society.”

WikiLeaks Leaks - No good. Period.

The latest in WikiLeaks leaks is an attempt is not to hold gov't accountable, but rather to weaken America. Michelle Malkin points out from HotAir: "Wikileaks would have you believe that confidential government communications are so inherently anti-democratic that exposing them is virtually always in the public interest, no matter what collateral damage might result. No country in the world has ever followed that standard and no country ever will."

As the BBC reports -- "UK operations in Afghanistan are criticised in US State Department files released by the Wikileaks website, according to the Guardian. The paper is one of several around the world carrying the latest files to be published by the whistleblowing site. They include criticism of David Cameron and refer to inappropriate remarks by Prince Andrew about a law enforcement agency and foreign country, it says. Publishing the files risks national security, the Foreign Office says. The leaked US embassy cables reportedly include accounts of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia urging the US to bomb Iran, Afghan government corruption, Iranian attempts to modify North Korean rockets as missiles and alleged links between the Russian government and organised crime." full story

Look, you may not agree with a current administration, or a government period, but to leak information such as this does only harm, and no good at all. period.

As solar activity waned at the end of one of the Sun's 11-year cycles, the new data show the amount of energy reaching the Earth at visible wavelengths rose rather than fell.

CNSNEWS reports -- Shrugging off President Obama’s condemnation of his 9/11 conspiracy allegations, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is drawing support from a majority of Iranian lawmakers and a top military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader. Ahmadinejad returned home Saturday from his headline-grabbing visit to the U.N. General Assembly and complained about having been “insulted” by Obama for merely having “posed one simple question.” The “question” he raised, during his address Thursday at U.N. headquarters – just a few miles from Ground Zero – was the charge that “some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime.” “The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view,” Ahmadinejad added. The remarks prompted delegates from the U.S. and several dozen other countries to walk out, although most kept their seats and some applauded afterwards.

Ten More Mega Mosques Planned for U.S.

The proposed mega-mosque at Ground Zero has sparked outrage among many Americans. But far from the bright lights of Manhattan, there is another mosque firestorm brewing. CBN News recently visited one Tennessee town where locals are voicing concerns about their new "neighbor" - a multi-million dollar Islamic center. It's just one of several such projects planned nationwide. Middle Tennessee is often referred to as the "buckle" of the Bible Belt. For cities and towns there like Murfreesboro -- about 30 miles south of Nashville -- it's still about God and country. But some residents of Murfreesboro believe that that all-American feel may soon disappear, thanks to plans to build a huge Islamic center in their backyard.

A founding member of an organization run by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the driving force behind the planned mosque near Ground Zero, claims that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job" and that Muslims have been made scapegoats, The Post has learned.

Faiz Khan -- who has preached at least twice at the former Burlington Coat Factory building, the site of the proposed mosque -- was for years Rauf's partner in the American Society for the Advancement of Muslims, which is dedicated to promoting a better understanding of Islam.

Khan also serves on the advisory board of Muslims for 9/11 Truth and is a founder of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, known as MUJCA.

"One World Trade Center" will be Tallest Building In Ameria

NDTV -- Nearly nine-years after the World Trade Center towers were destroyed, a 50-ton steel column, salvaged from the wreckage, was hoisted into place. It will serve as part of the entryway to the underground 9-11 Memorial and Museum, which will open next year. The memorial, which includes two reflective pools in the footprints of the destroyed twin towers, will comprise 8 acres of the 16-acre ground zero site. The building, "One World Trade Center" is nearly 40 stories high now, and grows daily. When completed and opened in 2013, it will be the tallest building in North America. Also visible on the skyline is 'Four World Trade Center', on-schedule to open by 2013 as well. Workers are laying the foundations of two other buildings, called "Two World Trade Center" and "Three World Trade Center." And "Seven World Trade Center" is already built and people go to work their every day.

Glenn Beck Tells Hundreds of Thousands in DC: Tell the Truth & Turn to God

Hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in DC for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally. While the mainstream media minimized the numbers, and ignored the content of the message, those who were there heard it loud and clear.

Sarah Palin, Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke on returning to truth and to God.

As CNSNEWS reported -- Americans may disagree on their politics, and that’s okay, Glenn Beck told a crowd numbering in the hundreds of thousands on Saturday. But for the sake of the nation, Americans must agree on their values and principles. Change for the better begins in each one of us, Beck said, as he urged Americans to turn to God – just as the Founding Fathers did. Your country needs you, he said.Near the end of the rally, a U.S. Park Police helicopter made several loops around the Mall, prompting Beck to joke that the crowd must be huge since the chopper was violating restricted air space to count it. Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally filled up the National Mall on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010. The crowd, as large as it was, was quiet and respectful. There was some flag-waving, but there were few, if any, signs visible on the Mall – in keeping with Beck’s request not to politicize the rally.
