Your Choice: Laura Bush or Teresa Heintz-Kerry

How important is the First Lady? Well, how important is a wife? How important is grace and wisdom? How important is your attitude towards people?

Can I just say it like it is?

When I wrote my article on "America Looks at the Wives" I received alot of feedback, pro and con, when I said, "Did you catch Bill O'Reilly's interview with Laura Bush last night? How about Teresa Heintz-Kerry's response to Bush supporters chanting "4 more years"? Her response - "4 more years of hell!" America is evaluating the choices, not just for President, or Vice President, but for First Lady also. One democrat interviewed on the news said, "Can we have John Kerry for President and Laura Bush for First Lady?" That says a bunch. Laura has class and was very gracious about Teresa's remarks. Quite a contrast between the two. I'm afraid John Kerry will continue to have to make excuses for his wife's responses. You can only say 'she's just outspoken' so many times."

On Tuesday when I heard Teresa Heintz-Kerry's answer in response to the question, if she would be different from Mrs. Bush as First Lady, "Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good, but I don't know that she's ever had a real job -- I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things," I thought about one of the responses I got to the article mentioned above. Drew wrote: "I think you missed some things in your article. Let me fill you in. Teresa Heinz is fluent in five languages. Teresa Heinz is very smart. Laura Bush is a house wife. Laura Bush isn't in the public eye because she doesn't have anything to say. "

Wow! some perspectives and attitudes are very revealing, aren't they? Do we even need to say what the implications of these two statements are?

Sure, I know Teresa apologized saying she didn't remember Laura Bush had been a librarian and school teacher. hmmmmm. But all that aside, is this the kind of thing a potential first lady says? No. But, once again Laura Bush was very gracious saying, "It didn't matter to me. It didn't hurt my feelings. It was perfectly all right that she apologized. She didn't have to apologize. I know how tough it is. And actually I know those trick questions."

For the record, what is a lady? Let's look at the dictionary definition:(Encarta/Dictionary.com) Refined woman; a woman who behaves very politely and with dignity; a well-mannered and considerate woman with high standards of proper behavior; a woman regarded as virtuous; a woman who is the head of a household; lady is normally used as a parallel to gentleman to emphasize norms expected in polite society or in situations requiring courtesies.

So, I ask you, would a lady say "scum-bags" et al, publically, and especially when her husband is running for President? And what do you do with statements like the one John Kerry made himself during the 3rd debate in answer to the question, "All three of us are surrounded by very strong women. We're all married to strong women. Each of us have two daughters that make us very proud...what is the most important thing you've learned from these strong women?" Kerry said, "...my daughters and my wife are people who just are filled with that sense of what's right, what's wrong. They also kick me around."

Following the President's remarks, which basically praised Laura, saying he thought he was the luckiest man on earth, Kerry also said, "Well, I guess the President and you and I are three examples of lucky people who married up. And some would say maybe me more so than others." hmmmmm. What does this say about Kerry?

First Ladies go on diplomatic trips, host leaders and their wives from countries around the world. How important is it that they respect the First Lady? Or will they be gracious and say, "Oh, she's just outspoken?" Many nations already think America is arrogant.

Now, Laura Bush is more gracious than I am. She would never write an article like this...but it needs to be said. This is probably one of the most serious elections we've ever had.

If you want to know what a Lady is all you have to do is all you have to do is is read Pro 31
(Pro 31:1) The words of King Lemuel, the strong advice his mother gave him:

(Pro 31:2) "Oh, son of mine, what can you be thinking of! Child whom I bore! The son I dedicated to God!

(Pro 31:3) Don't dissipate your virility on fortune-hunting women, promiscuous women who shipwreck leaders.

(Pro 31:4) "Leaders can't afford to make fools of themselves, gulping wine and swilling beer,

(Pro 31:5) Lest, hung over, they don't know right from wrong, and the people who depend on them are hurt.

(Pro 31:6) Use wine and beer only as sedatives, to kill the pain and dull the ache

(Pro 31:7) Of the terminally ill, for whom life is a living death.

(Pro 31:8) "Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outers.

(Pro 31:9) Speak out for justice! Stand up for the poor and destitute!"

(Pro 31:10) A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds.

(Pro 31:11) Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it.

(Pro 31:12) Never spiteful, she treats him generously all her life long.

(Pro 31:13) She shops around for the best yarns and cottons, and enjoys knitting and sewing.

(Pro 31:14) She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places and brings back exotic surprises.

(Pro 31:15) She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day.

(Pro 31:16) She looks over a field and buys it, then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden.

(Pro 31:17) First thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.

(Pro 31:18) She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.

(Pro 31:19) She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth, diligent in homemaking.

(Pro 31:20) She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor.

(Pro 31:21) She doesn't worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.

(Pro 31:22) She makes her own clothing, and dresses in colorful linens and silks.

(Pro 31:23) Her husband is greatly respected when he deliberates with the city fathers.

(Pro 31:24) She designs gowns and sells them, brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.

(Pro 31:25) Her clothes are well-made and elegant, and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.

(Pro 31:26) When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly.

(Pro 31:27) She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive.

(Pro 31:28) Her children respect and bless her; her husband joins in with words of praise:

(Pro 31:29) "Many women have done wonderful things, but you've outclassed them all!"

(Pro 31:30) Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-GOD.

(Pro 31:31) Give her everything she deserves! Festoon her life with praises!

Sharon,
Thank you for your great article. Terezzzzza's outbursts are completely out of line, especially for someone who could be representing our country to the rest of the world. She would be an embarassment to America. Much like her husband who criticized the Prime Minister of Iraq when he came over...yeah, he's a real coalition builder.

Anyway, thanks for the words. I appreciated them!

Hi Sharon,
Teresa is the kind of woman that where I come from would be called trashy mouth. Only difference is that she has money that was handed to her. Trashy mouth women where I come from have to work for it.
Thanks for the article.

Sharon,
Thanks for the very good piece. One though of mine is, "What good is it for
one to be fluent in five languages if there is no taming of the tongue?"

Dear Sharon:
We must all remember that Ms Heinz-Kerry is the Marie Antoinette ("let them eat cake") of the hate Bush crowd. But to us peasant Republicans she'll
always be just a "Royal Pain.." As a parting shot, she has a hyphenated name. Think about it.

Sure, this is one of the most serious elections we've ever had. We have to choose between tweedledee and tweedledumber. Tyranny of a fascist nature, or tyranny of a socialist nature. The political inbreeding and corruption is beyond redemption, and worrying about first ladies is nothing more than a distraction from what could be the end of America. These two men are both globalists, playing the game of being on different sides, when they both are puppets to carry out the same agenda.

We need to elect outside of this rigged political system, and put in someone like a constitutionalist or libertarian. This article is the type of fluff I would expect to find on NewsMax or TownHall-- not the clear thinking writers on News with Views.

Hello Sharon,

We are at the 12th hour in America. All patriotic journalists are needed to direct the attention of Americans to the fact that we Do actually have a real statesman running for the office of President of the United States!
The Kerry-Bush campaigns are only a dog and pony show, provided by the powers that own most of the institutions in American. But, with writers such as yourself, each American can know that there IS a REAL choice this year!!! Michael Badnarik is not just some schmuck that tossed his hat in the ring. He is on the ballot in 48 states! He is a Constitutional scholar. He was elected as the Libertarian candidate AFTER he debated his opponents at the Atlanta convention. (If Badnarik were allowed into the debates with Bush and Kerry, even the most die-hard ignorant would be able to see who is the real leader).
Please, don't spend any more time throwing rose peddles on the Kerry-Bush race. They are on the same team!!!! We need to get someone in office that will pull the plug on the Federal Matrix. Oh, I know the "media" says that the only third party candidate is Nader, and that no third party is even in the running to win this election, but is that the truth? Is anything reported by the media ever 100% true?
If you don't know much about Badnarik, I respectfully suggest that you read his platform and listen to the third party debates to understand who this man is, and what he can do.
I have a lot more to say, but this is enough for now.
I salute you as a contributor to News with Views. You are talented, but please be brave and put out one last article encouraging patriots look past the Matrix, and vote for a true statesman. We may not have another opportunity to stop this runaway government!

Sincerely,
Quince

In regard to the e-mail you received calling Laura Bush, that horrible word, housewife...
I too am a menial housewife and mother and teacher of my children (both spiritual and intellectual)...I have an engineering degree which has been shelved for now so that I may employ my time with this menial job of housewife...which by the way is harder, more challenging and more eternally rewarding than a BSME degree could ever be.
A lady is something to be treasured and emulated, not mocked.Good article...keep the truth coming.

Thanks,

Now, Now! If Laura Bush had any class she wouldn't have married a drunk and a coke head. For her it was the Bush money all the way. Don't let those southern accents fool you, I was born in the south and there are a lot of classless women there who have sweet little southern accents, and they will eat your heart out in New Your second!

Your Choice: Laura Bush Or Teresa Heintz-Kerry
Oh. Please. Admitted, laura Bush is gracious etc but at the end of the day it is not her diplomacy with the foreign leaders that matters but the president's diplomacy. And here the current president fails miserably so what's the point in having a gracious first lady, she is not the president and therein lies the difference.
