Day 4 - Judge Roberts: 'I Am Not an Ideologue'

"Look at my briefs and you'll conclude that's a person who respects the law...If you look at what I've done since I took the judicial oath, that should convince you that I am not an ideologue, and you and I agree that that's not the sort of person we want on the Supreme Court," he told the confirmation hearing committee today.

After three days of hearings Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-California, who voted to confirm Roberts for the U.S. Court of Appeals two years ago told Roberts, "I don't know what I'm going to do. My impression today is that you are a very cautious, very precise man ... and that concerns me more."

The vote on Judge Roberts for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is to take place next Thursday.

More to come...
