Friend Stuck in Houston Evacuation

While thousands are trying to get out of Houston because of the approaching Hurricane Rita, one of my husband's colleagues from the Houston area got through on her cell phone to give a first-hand account of the conditions. She and her family have been trying to get out of town since 9 pm last night and have been in bumper to bumper traffic now for over 18 hrs. They are running out of gas, but can't get off the freeway to get more because they won't be able to get back on as the ramps are closed. People have no where to go to the bathroom and have to... well guess.

FOX News just reported that the Texas state government is providing gasoline trucks at road stops, with 5 gallons available per car.

More to come...
