Hurricane Katrina - Don't let your Charity be Scammed
Shamefully scam artists are already at work to take advantage of the hurricane Katrina catastrophe. While tremendous efforts on many fronts are at work to help the victims of this greatest natural disaster in American history, experts are warning that scam artists are trying to con people into giving to bogus relief agencies. Andrew Lee of ESET, a global provider of security software says, "Though it's easy to be moved by the tragedy, we can't let down our guard. People should use their heads as much as their hearts when looking to make a donation."
It's always good to stay with those organizations you are familiar with.
American Red Cross: 1-800-HELP-NOW or 1-800-435-7669.
Donations can also be made online at americanredcross.org.
