Many are concerned that Harriet Miers is not a judge. Six Supreme Court Justices since the early 1900's were not judges before their appointments to the court:

1939 Felix Frankfurter, Harvard Law Professor
1953 Earl Warren, Governor of California
1972 William H. Rehnquist, Assistant Attorney General
