HOT OFF THE SHOW! Dysfunctional Family Stone

Last week following Christmas Duane and I took some down time for ourselves, which included taking in a couple of movies. One was The Chronicles of Narnia which we loved and recommend, and the other was The Family Stone. Very disappointing. The preview snippets we saw and the introduction made us think we were in for a modern-day "It's a Wonderful Life." But far from it. Diane Keaton's continual swearing, blatant endorsement of promiscuity of her kids, the obvious pro-homosexual union/adoption advocacy scenes and more, actually sabotaged what could have been a good film in terms of relational challenges and reconciliation. Too bad.

So, shall I ask the proverbial question? Does Hollywood mirror society or does society mirror Hollywood? Hollywood says the first. What say you?

My guest on today's show, Dr. Joshua Coleman talked with me about how culture shapes marriage, historically and currently. It was a great interview and one the women appreciated especially as he pointed out the need for husbands to get more involved in the day to day responsibilities of married and family life. It's definately worth a listen.
