California's Governor Race

Yesterday's LIVE! show was before the news came out about the foiled terror plot in the UK, so callers were interested in talking about Castro, Al Gore and Iowa's governor's race. Speaking of governors, in the interest of encouraging Californians to keep their eye on the governor's race between Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Phil Angelides, because it is still true - how goes California, goes the nation, here's their positions on the social issues, via the Campaign for Children and Families, which will certainly see bigger battles in the next couple of years in the Golden State:

Arnold Schwarzenegger (Republican)

- “Homosexual” marriage "fine with me" (but vetoed AB 849)

- Opposes VoteYesMarriage.com California marriage amendment

- Supports abortion on demand and taxpayer-funded abortions

+ Supports parental notification for abortion

? No position on physician-assisted suicide

Phil Angelides (Democrat)

- Supports “homosexual” marriage (endorsed AB 849)

- Opposes VoteYesMarriage.com California marriage amendment

- Supports abortion on demand and taxpayer-funded abortions

- Opposes parental notification for abortion

-Supports physician-assisted suicide

More on their positions on these and other issues HERE.
