Meet Sarah Palin & Family in Pictures

State of Alaska/Governor's page

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council before becoming mayor of the town--Alaska's fastest-growing with a population of 6,715--in 1996. Palin became the governor of Alaska in December, 2006. She is the state's youngest and first female governor. The Idaho-native is the mother of five children, the youngest of whom was born in April and has Downs Syndrome. Both Palin and McCain both have children in the military.

Todd Palin and Scott Davis, team 22, cross the finish line in Fairbanks on Feb. 17, 2007 to win the 2,000-mile Tesoro Iron Dog. Palin has won the world’s longest snowmachine race four times.
