VP Debate Moderator is Pro-Obama

Tonight at 6 pm California time

Will the debate be fair and balanced tonight? You decide --

Michelle Malkin's column lines out how PBS anchor Gwen Ifill, who will moderate tonight's Vice Presidential debate, is an Obama supporter.

Point #1: The moderator and managing editor of PBS's Washington Week, and senior correspondent for NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, Ifill could hardly hide her disgust for Sarah (see video).

Some PBS viewers complained about Ifill's frowning facial expressions after Palin's acceptance speech during the Republican National Convention in September.

Point #2: Will Ifill get to decide which questions to ask during the debate? Yes. Moderators have near-absolute control over the script, just like she likes it --

"My favorite debate format is one in which I am in charge." -Sept. 18 online Q&A with the Washington Post.

Point #3: She has written a book entitled The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama, set to be released on Inauguration Day. And as it turns out Ifill never told the Commission on Presidential Debates about the book. When she's asked if her book creates a conflict of interest, Ifill suggested that such concerns might be motivated by racism.

Ifill also did adulatory magazine article on the Obamas. See article here.

Can she be impartial? No.

Should she be the moderator of tonight's debate. No.

But she will be.

So watch and pray.
