GODTalk: Obama Celebrates Diwali Festival of Lights

NDTV of India reports -- Barack Obama celebrated Diwali by lighting the ceremonial lamp at the White House amidst chanting of Vedic mantras seeking world peace, becoming the first US President to personally grace the occasion.

Full Story

And I'm just thinking... Our new president celebrated the Islam holiday, Ramadan, at a special White House dinner last month, explaining what the holiday is all about, and last week he celebrated Diwali a holiday celebrated by Hindus and Buddhists and other eastern religions, again describing the holiday's meaning; and he also celebrated a Jewish Seder at the White House, but has he celebrated any Christian holidays at the White House yet?

He did have an Easter egg hunt...(as has been the tradition at the White House for many years).

As you can hear in the above video, Michelle Obama said at the event "Our goal today is just to have fun...we've got Yoga...we've got Easter Egg hunting...we want everyone to think about moving their bodies..."

Pres. Obama read a book to the children -- "Where the Wild Things Are." And the First Lady read, "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie." I guess they wouldn't want to read a book about the true meaning of Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as that would be crossing the line between church and state, right?

But wait - what happened to that line when he celebrated the other religious holidays mentioned above? Must have slipped his mind. (Can you see my tongue in my cheek?)

I'm just saying...just thinking...
