Obama Introduces Healthcare Plan on Eve of Summit
USA TODAY reports -- If President Obama has said it once, he's said it more than 50 times: He always knew health care would be hard."Seven presidents had tried it, seven Congresses had tried it," he said on Jan. 22. "And all of them had failed." Well, yes and no. True, no president has signed the kind of comprehensive national health care plan that Obama envisions. But predecessors have wrought major changes to the health care system, from Lyndon Johnson and Medicare to George W. Bush and the prescription drug bill.
