BREAKING: Security Guard Wounded at Family Research Council headquarters Shooting

Fox News reports that the suspect “made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard.” Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism.

According to communications director for the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, “The suspect opened fire on the security guard, striking the security guard. The security guard and others assisted in subduing the suspect.”

The guard identified as head security guard Leo Johnson. D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier called Johnson a “hero.” -- “The security guard here is a hero, as far as I’m concerned. He did his job. The person never made it past the front.”

The guard was listed in stable condition after being taken to a local hospital.
