The Battling of Ads Begins on Roberts

NARAL TV Ad

NARAL Pro-Choice America began spending its designated $500,000 Wednesday for TV ads on CNN and FOX against the nomination of Judge John G. Roberts Jr. to the Supreme Court, focusing on the abortion-related case Roberts made to the Supreme Court when he was working for the first Bush administration as the principal deputy solicitor general everyone has heard about by now. Progress for America, is set to counter the ads by running their own ad on the same stations. Their set to spend $300,000 in this battle of the ads. What is the point? To persuade public opinion, which will (they are hoping) then put pressure on confirmation committee members. So it becomes a question of who will win on the grassroots level?
