HOT OFF THE SHOW! Getting Micro-Chipped

Madras High School in Madras, Oregon is one of the most recent government institutions to allow students to buy their lunch with the swipe of their hand. Former U.S. Tommy Thompson the former Governor of Wisconsin and Health and Human Services Secretary during Bush’s first term, is now on the board of directors of Applied Digital, the company that owns VeriChip, just got 'chipped'. And after thirty years on the force, Chief of Police Jack Schmidig of Bergen County, New Jersey, got the VeriChip as part of Applied Digital Solution's strategy to use high profile/community leaders to promote acceptance of their 'chip' by the general public.

The list goes on with recent examples of human micro-chip acceptance and implantation. However, concerns about abuse by privacy-watch groups and the technology industry point to a host of ethical, moral, and legal questions that "must be answered before widespread use of implantable micro-chips can happen." Many Christians point to the Book of Revelation in the Bible that tells of a time when man won't be able to buy or sell without getting a 'mark' in their hand or forehead.

Just as the stem-cell research debate has moved front and center in the public arena look to hearing more and more about the ethics of 'getting chipped' in the future. My show today with author Terry Cook addresses this issue. I encourage you to listen and let me know what you think.
