Happy Thanksgiving

Duane and I, and everyone at Changing Worldviews & WOMANTalk, wish you, our listeners, partners and friends, a Happy Thanksgiving with not only good food, and wonderful times with family and friends, but with the blessings that come from being thankful.

No matter the difficult times we find ourselves in today as a nation, may we be found to emulate the attitude of those who celebrated the First Thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for the 'abundance' we enjoy...

"The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving." -H. U. Westermayer

When we count our blessings, we include you.

Happy Thanksgiving! & God Bless our Troops!

The following quotes are taken from several Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamations:

"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His mercy, to implore His protection and favor... That great and beneficent author of all good that was, that is, or ever shall be, that we may then unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people." -George Washington

"As the harvest season draws to a close and our storehouses bulge with the bounty of the land, it is our desire to observe, in the custom and tradition of our forebears, a special day dedicated to giving thanks to God - a day on which to lay aside our daily tasks and cares and pay joyous homage to Him." -President John F. Kennedy, Nov. 13, 1964

"Perhaps no custom reveals our character as a Nation so clearly as our celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Rooted deeply in our Judeo-Christian heritage, the practice of offering thanksgiving underscores our unshakable belief in God as the foundation of our Nation and our firm reliance upon Him from Whom all blessings flow." -President Ronald Reagan, Thanksgiving Day, 1986

"All across America, we gather this week with the people we love to give thanks to God for the blessings in our lives." -President George W. Bush, Nov. 23, 2004
